I've tried quite a few of the masks from Lush. This is definitely one of my favourites. My skin is dry and sensitive so this suits me perfectly.
First off it looks like porridge, there is nothing pretty about it. It smells really good though! I like to use a brush to apply my masks but you can't do that with this.....you just have to kind of smush it all over your face lol. I recommend doing it over the bathroom sink as bits fall off.
I let this sit while I literally lay down in fear of it getting everywhere. After 30 minutes it's time to wash off. Ugh this is the next messy part....I recommend jumping in the shower to wash it off. Super easy and less messy.
After use my skin looks amazing! It is super soft to the touch and my makeup applies like a dream. This is so good for dry skin! Remember to keep your pot in the fridge to keep it fresh. Highly recommend Oatifix!
Thank God I got this for free as part of the "Return 5 empty pots" programme. If I knew it was going to be so bad, I would have gotten another mask instead.
First off, it smells nice, like an oatmeal cookie but it is very difficult to apply! You have to warm it up in your hands first if not it will fall off your face in clumps. Even then, it's impossible to get a thin, even layer. The clumps felt heavy and uncomfortable. I think they really should have ground the oats into finer pieces for a smoother consistency.
I left it on for 20 minutes. My face was softer after that but there was no decrease in redness. The softness disappeared quickly, which leads me to think this mask does nothing much.
Also, I don't like that it contains talc, presumably as a bulking agent. If I had bought it for full price, I would have been very unhappy as lots ended up on the floor and the pot lasts maybe 2 uses for little effect.
Tips: 1. You're better off mashing your own bananas and oats to make a mask. I've done it before and it works the same, if not better.
