I went into lush looking for a natural exfoliator to replace my old one (it has the little plastic beads and I wanted to be better to the environment). I have very sensitive but dry skin so I need something that will be rough enough to remove all the dead skin but gentle enough that I'm not screaming in pain. I asked the sales assistant what he would recommend. I tried this in store on my hands and it was fine on them but when I used it at home on my face it was much to harsh. I did also try it as a body scrub but even then it was to harsh for me.

Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub Review
Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub Cleansing lime, coconut and sea salt scrub. Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water, then cleansing and refreshing it with lemon, grapefruit and lime juices. Fresh avocado moisturises and softens the skin, while violet leaf absolute calms and nurtures. Use it on oily skin every day and use it to refresh dry skin once a week.

Tips: I think if you don't have sensitive skin and like it a little rough lol then this would be a great way of exfoliating and removing fake tan if you were so inclined!
The great Lush Boxing Day sale is upon us again! In an attempt to make room for my new goodies, I found this languishing at the back of the bathroom cupboard. I got a small tub of this in a gift box in a previous Boxing Day sale. Mine was labeled as just being a face scrub. Now, there is no way anything called ocean salt is going on my face so I've only used it on my body.
The really does smell like a swim in the sea, minus the seaweed and seagulls that are at my beach! It has a course texture with the main ingredient being sea salt. It does leave my skin really soft and smooth but it also makes it sting! Thus its relegation to the back of the cupboard until I occasionally remember it's there and use it on my feet. I won't be purchasing this again as it's just not for me. Well, maybe for my feet but I would rather walk barefoot on the beach to get the same effect.
Tips: Do not even think about you if you have any cuts on your skin at all. This will find them!
I'm always on the hunt for products to brighten my skin. When I went into Lush looking for skin brightening products I was recommended this. I love Lush products so sure. The fresh lemon, lime scrub smelt nice and even though it was pricey for a body scrub as a face scrub I thought it would last me ages so why not. Unfortunately this is the first Lush product I didn't really fall for. When I used it on my face it irritated and felt like it was going to cause micro tears in my skin as the salt is too coarse and chunky, I kept using it on my face as I wanted to love this but it seemed to exacerbated it. I only had a few pimply bumps before I washed my face and then when I came out of the shower, I noticed a whole lot more all over my T-zone where I gave it a good scrub. As a body scrub it's fine but there are a lot of other amazing body scrubs for a lot cheaper, that smell amazing and you get a lot more scrub for the price. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this one. It does come in one of those pots that you can collect five and then exchange for free face mask so that's a bonus but it's not a good enough reason for me to repurchase. I think I'll buy the other products Lush has to offer and give this a miss.
Tips: Request a sample before you buy. You can use it on your body but it's rather pricey if just use it for that.
Let me start by saying this honestly smells amazing. The lemon is like seriously overpowering, but super delicious smelling.
I've used my whole pot of this and I'm still not sure whether I'd buy another one.
I have dry skin, and it's really patchy sometimes which cause my foundation to look really cakey, so I tried a whole lot of exfoliators, rosehip oils, moisturisers, etc. and I still don't see the results I want.
Anyways, this is a harsh enough scrub, but I find it dissolves so easily, too easily when you use it and it doesn't give that nice scrubby effect. I'm not sure if it will work better on dry skin as I've only ever used it on wet skin, but it's too gentle in the regard that it dissolves so easily.
I love the smell, as I already said :P and it feels heavenly on your skin. It feels as if it has scrubbed your dead skin off, but then when I apply makeup afterwards it doesn't feel like it has worked.
It's really expensive, so I doubt that I'll buy it again.
This scrub smells like the sea. It's really sweet to look at too! I was really hoping that I would love this after seeing all the great reviews but for someone with averagely sensitive skin, it was just far too harsh. The salt bits were not uniform on the edges which meant some bits were really sharp and abrasive. I LOVE lush's other scrubs but unfortunately, this one wasn't for me.
Tips: Use with a light hand! Get a tester and make sure that your skin can handle it before splurging and getting the whole pot!
Although I found this product made my skin feel smooth (for a short while) it was too abrasive for my skin and after about an hour of using it my face was red and raw and irritated. I found it really nice as a body scrub when applied lightly. I recommend it for a once every two weeks kind of thing and only very lightly!
Tips: Apply lightly and do not scrub too hard as it will just irritate your skin!
I love Lush so I had to try it, the packaging of the product is funky and handy to get all the product out of. However I was amazed at how chunky it was! A small amount doesn't spread far. The smell is odd and I was not a big fan of it but the salt scrub left my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I did not use it on my face as I felt it was a bit rough for that and would be harsh removing it from your face. It works well with a facecloth but to get the real exfoliating feeling its perfect with a exfoliating glove. Since trying the salt scrub I probably wouldn't purchase it again as the chunky texture and feel was harsh but it does work, I prefer something with smaller bits for a exfoliator
I received this in a gift box as a 70g sample. I used it exclusively on my face. It's a creamy, exfoliating scrub with the exfoliating part being salt. I hate to use scrubs with the little plastic balls. It has a very herby citrus scent, very fresh smelling. I have had some red veins removed from my face so I was very cautious to not scratch my skin too much with this as it was quite coarse for facial use. My skin felt really soft afterwards. I did not notice any stinging but I would assume salt in a wound may sting a little! It's a love hate really- my skin was so soft but I probably won't get this again as it is pricey and i worry about breaking capillaries on my face with the abrasiveness of it.
Tips: Definitely wet skin first for lubrication or it can be too abrasive.
I love Lush products, but I wouldn't buy this again. That is not to say it is bad or didn't work - rather it was a little to harsh for my liking. I couldn't use this on my face - my skin is rather sensitive - but it did work on my legs. It is a little rough and scratchy to put on but it does leave your skin feeling smooth.
It has a really nice summery, fresh scent and a decent size pottle. It is a little on the pricier side, but you can always ask for a sample before you buy!
The main reason I wouldn't buy this again is simply because I found a Lush product that ends with the same results, but is not as harsh on my skin (the Buffy Bar) and is a little cheaper. This is a great product for those who love intense scrubs - those with sensitive skin, I would give this a miss.
Tips: I am not a fan using this on my face. This is not suited to those with sensitive skin - it may be a bit too harsh.
Unfortunately if you have sensitive skin this may not be the product for you as it contains big pieces of coarse rock salt. I've often heard that salt has really good healing properties and this is true however I found that because of how big the pieces were, it really irritated my skin to the point it felt really sore afterwards. So its not all bad, it smells really really good and I really wanted to like this product but due to my sensitivity, it really does not work on me at all as I find it really sore. I tried to give it a go for a few days but unfortunately it just hurt too much, maybe I was rubbing it too hard, I'm not sure but my skin felt quite raw after using it. They have actually brought out a similar product but for those with sensitive skin, so that one maybe better which is good because I really did like the smell and it was so creamy despite the big pieces.
