Too musky

If you want a bit of a show from your bath bomb then this one is for you.

This isn't like your traditional ball shaped bath bomb it is more shaped like a small cylinder but it's a heavy little number. It's a deep purple colour with gold lustre.

I pop it in the bath and watch as it fizzes, this lasts for 5 minutes or more it just went on and on. About a minute after the purple has been fizzing a blue teal colour started fizzing from the bath bomb. There was also a stick that came out for a start i was thinking what the..?? And realised it is part of a cinnamon stick. It turned the bath a lovely teal colour with a little bit of gold lustre through the water.

The scent of this I'm not really liking it. I love cinnamon it's my favourite spice, but this has a kind of musky smell with it and I just couldn't enjoy my bath i think the muskiness over powered the cinnamon. Definitely not a Lush favourite

This Phoenix won't be rising ever again

When i first hear about this bath bomb, it sounded amazing.I love cinnamon, glitter and the colour purple so it should have been a match made in heaven.

When this arrived, oh my! I could smell it before i even opened the bag and it smelt good! So good infact, that i just kept this in my room for awhile because it made my room smell delicious.

The bath bomb is a wierd shape actually. It has a circular base, and looks really thick and dense (which it is). Although the Lush ladies say all the bath bombs are the same weight.. this sure does not feel it. The bath bomb is a beautiful bright purple, with a gold shimmer coating.

When you put this in the bath, is fizzes up a storm, and turns the water a beautiful purple colour, aswell as making a slight milky foam over the water. But then the bath bomb hits the blue centre which makes the water a richer colour and The gold shimmer gives the water a bit of lustre, and makes it more exciting aswell. One thing that suprised me from this bath bomb was when a big chunk of bark appeared, and i thought that was really cool because i assume it is cinnamon bark or an imitation of it. Either way, i liked it.

Although the cinnamon smell was so strong when the bath bomb was in the bag, once it was in the water, the smell wasn't as strong as i would have wanted. The bath bomb is more spicey and musky than cinnamon-y!

Overall, this bath bomb is nice, but it is nothing special, and not one of my favorites because it just didn't wow me!

Puts on a show visually and aromtically

I'm a huge fan of Lush bath bombs and when this got released here in NZ a couple of years back I remember trying it for the first time and becoming addicted to the scent, wish they would make a Phoenix Rising perfume.

Packaging, as with all Lush bath bombs, these come unpackaged aside from the little Lush paper bag you carry it home in.

Formula, this solid, quite heavy weighted bomb is in a form of an oversized gummy drop (the only way to described it's rounded but flat appearance in my mind) in a wonderfully deep shades of magenta pink and purple. Splashed over it is a dusting of gold lustre and adorning it's flat top is a cinnamon stick wedged in firmly. The scent is heavy and musky, with the cinnamon making a spicy blend as it whirls around the bath amongst the coloured water. When it hits the water it inks the water in shades of purple and pink with a clouding of golden dust hanging in suspense within the watery depth, that cling on briefly to your skin.

This is a relaxing bath time treat which is best used during the colder, winter months as it always has be craving a mulled wine or hot cider after a dip in it.

No Phoenix Here

I was very lucky to get this as a gift from my beautiful friend Shana, and I was very excited. Not only was it a Lush product, but it was a product I hadn't tried yet. And it was purple! C'mon. It's like it was made for me.

The picture on the website is deceiving. What I thought was a small circle turned out to be quite a large solid cylinder almost. It's all purple and covered in Lush's tell tale golden lustre, which is environmentally safe. There are pieces of lustre covered cinnamon stick throughout as well, which is lovely.

I threw this in the bath and it melted surprisingly slowly, and I sat and watched it, trying not to touch it with my fiddling fingers. Pink slowly spread out from the bomb and it danced around the tub like a purple ballerina. Eventually it sunk and I was left waiting for the purples and greens I was promised.

While on the bottom of the tub it fizzed upwards, and I was half expecting something to rise from below, which would have been fitting as the name of the bomb is Phoenix Rising. Sadly, nothing came up, and the shell of the bomb sat on the bottom of the tub.

This bomb has a lot of nourishing oils and butters, and let me tell you my body is never usually this soft after a bath! Soft yes, but not baby soft like this! The smell that came off of the bomb as well was quite lovely - for some reason all I could smell was grape soda. I could also smell gorgeous spices and it did make the whole thing quite mystical and I found myself having fairy thoughts.

All bath bombs are different, and while I'm super disappointed mine didn't have the blue of a peacock, I can forgive it for all the softness my skin is feeling.

Haha oh I liked it but I don't think I'd use it again, the mystical colors I was promised weren't in there!

Aw that's disappointing cause I have bought one lol. It is no good you didn't like it but like most Lush bath bombs you buy before you try. If only it were the other way around.

Love Love Love

I am obsessed with this bath bomb. Has to be one of my favorite all year round ones. It has the most amazing colour to it, A really rich deep purple with flickers of pink through it finished off with the amazing gold glitter and a cinnamon stick... Which Btw isnt to ott compared to other lush bath items that have gold glittler in them as the golden egg or the 5 gold rings. It has a really beautiful winter spice fragrance which i love so if you are not a fan of cinnamon and cloves this one is not for you.

Made my skin feel very soft. I love it.

All time favorite bath bomb

I discovered this bath bomb back in 2014 and have loved it ever since.

It has a subtle fizz compaired to other lush bath bombs but the purple with a sprinkle of gold shimmer is worth the wait. The scent is delicious because of the spicy vanilla and stays on your skin once out of the tub.

I find this bath bomb perfect for when you are needing a bit of pampering and while it's perfect for a winter soak with a cup of tea, I also use it all year round.

Once you fall in love with it you will find yourself picking up one or two every time you are in a lush store.

Tips: Works best in an overly hot bath. I always add it when I start running my bath before adding a bunch of cold water just before I get it.

Also works really well and a draw scent. Kind of like how people used to put a pouch of lavender in their underwear draw... I just put a Phoenix Rising in each draw.

Spicy cinnamon delight

I used this just last night and #swoon. I'm in love!

The beautiful scent of spicy cinnamon and vanilla really drew me to this bath bomb. Once I placed it in the bath and it fizzled and swirled around it reminded me so much of the smell you smell when you walk through a gypsy fair.

The purple block with gold glitter throughout is beautiful when it touches the water. The glitter floats through the water while the purple slowly dissolves through the water. Ontop a few dried out cinnamon sticks, I'm unsure if they are mean't to float or not but mine sunk to the bottom of the bath.

Admittedly I looked in the bath once the bomb had dissolved and cried because there was just not enough gold glitterness in the bath so I put a golden egg in too.

I really wish we could still get this bath bomb I really really love it! My partner said my skin was buttery soft once I had gotten out after a good soak and still this morning my skin is soft to touch.

Go back to the ashes!

Honestly I almost feel bad for giving this a semi fence sitter, semi bad review after reading all the lovely things you girls wrote about it. I wanted to love it so much but alas I must tell it like it is. Let us start with the good points so I am not entirely a negative nancy.

The bomb is beyond gorgeous in appearance. I mean which girl would turn a nose up at a purple bomb swirled with golden glitter. It is the dreams of pretty things. The smell is OK at best. It is cinnamon and vanilla mixed. I can't say I am a fan of the smell especially the cinnamon.

After placing it in the bath, it really does what it promises which is a sight to behold. It drops to the bottom of the bath and literally rises in hues of purple and gold luster. The dried cinnamon that was on the top of the bath bomb floats in the tub like an out of place random thing??!! I get that it's supposed to be there but I really dislike a brown random leaf floating in my bath disturbing my perfect soak. The smell that fills my nostrils is actually alot nicer soaking in the bath than it is in bomb form. I could get used to this.

After soaking for a good hour in the tub my skin is beyond soft and supple. I smell of spicy sweetness and my hubby approves!! After letting the plug out I am left with brown sticks of cinnamon and gold glitter everywhere!!!! It took me three cleans to get rid of glitter trace all through my tub! As much as I love glitter that was overkill and a so and so to clean off the side urgh.

In summary, it left my skin feeling amazing, was hard to clean out of the tub but I was extremely underwhelmed with it. I would much rather a bomb which made my nostrils happy, this one didn't really do that nor wow me. Moving along.

Spicy Aroma

I remember getting this bath bomb last year in a mum box. I had seen previous reviews about it and was quite excited to try this out. I went away last week and my motel had a spa. I finally got to whip this beauty out.

The bomb itself is a beautiful deep shade of purple. Upon first whiff I can smell freshly crushed cinnamon and cloves with a light blend of vanilla. The texture of the bomb is soft but firm. It has that solid baking soda feel.

When I put it in my bath water my bath turned into purple and then this shimmery gold separates with bits of cinnamon bark . The bark doesn't bother me, I remove this from the water. With a good hours soak the cinnamon awakens my senses and soothes my body.

After bathing my skin feels soft and clean. My skin still retains moisture. I don't feel dried out like most body washes or soaks. I think this bath bomb may be discontinued because I can't find it on their website.

Lush bath bombs never fail on smell and consistency. I haven't had a bad bath bomb yet. I love using them for winding down after a long day. I mostly use them on trips away because my house doesn't have a bath at the moment. I hope this bath bomb returns.
