Lush Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar Review

Evoke happy thoughts with bergamot and citrus bubbles

Everyone’s favorite nanny, a certain Mary Poppins, who blew in on the East wind and landed at 17 Cherry Tree Lane, was the original inspiration for our Pop In the Bath bubble bar. If you’re in need of sorting out a chaotic day we suggest you take a calming bergamot, lemon and mandarin bubble bath. The scent of Mediterranean mandarin groves and orange blossoms breeze past you as you lay back in the bubbles, perfect for dreaming of summertime no matter the season.

Pop in the bath, my regular repurchased item

This beautifully scent bubble bar has to be restocked the second I run out of them, as I use them on their own and also I pop one in when I am using a fizzy bath ballistic as well to really up the bath time fun!

Packaging, well this doesn't actually come in any packaging which is another love of Lush, that you use very little packaging and what they do use is 100% bio degradable and recyclable. You can purchase these from a container in store that stocks them loosely. Filling a simple paper bag that gets labelled upon purchase. This is probably the only downside of the product though, as good as it sounds to not have excess of packaging it does shorten it's lifespan incredibly so it must be used up within a few days if exposed to a wet, moist bathroom where the bar will become mushy if kept unused for too long in this environment. Or if you have an airtight container or display jar, or even storing outside of that environment, you can extend it's lifespan by just keeping it in a dry, warm location.

Formula, this bubble bar is made up of some heavenly scented compounds that have all been squished together into a round patty, with the cute daisy shaped popped on the top. These do come in a random array of colour options, which I guess is just down to what was being manufactured that day, as I have had this bubble bar where the bar is green and the daisy is pink, bar is blue and daisy is white and even pink bar and blue daisy. No matte what the colour being used the scent always seems to remain the same and so does the way the bar acts.

Pouring a warm bath, how I use this bar is in it's entirety, I have heard of people cutting it into half or quarters to make it stretch further, but call me greedy I tend to use a whole one at once to get maximum bubbles and scent. As the water runs I crumble it between my fingers under the stream of water where the lathering action begins and the water gets thicker with soap that then produces masses of bubbles, all creamy and heavy in appearance. The final scattering of the bar I sprinkle over the bubbles to give a confetti effect. The room is always heady with the wonderful aroma of bergamot a herb I love and a floral tone that is on the woody side so subtle but effect in its relaxation motives.

The whole experience is wonderful, if you are an avid bath lover then you can do no wrong by popping this bubble bar into your bathing routine.

Pop in the bath? I think I might

This was a product I received from Lush as part of a gift set, and I had it for about 6 months before I used it. Mostly because I forgot I had it, but partly because I hadn’t actually heard much about this product and so I had no real desire to use it when I could use my range of other Lush goodies.

To sum it up, this bubble bar is super cute. It comes in a flat circle shape with a simple flower on top. My first one was pink, with a white flower, and it’s so simple but lovely at the same time. This is not one of the biggest bubble bars Lush sells, in fact, it’s probably one of the smaller ones but it is still another for at least two bubble baths.

This product smells amazing. I’m not good at sniffing out notes and things it smells fresh with a hit of citrus but also slightly masculine. I’m not sure if it just me that smells that, but this is a bubble bar that my partner actually likes the smell of (which is saying something).

The way I use this is by cutting it in half and then crumbling it under running water, and using half creates a whole heap of bubbles as well as making the water a pink tint (this tint will depend on the colour you choose).

Overall, I am super impressed with this product and it has quickly become a favourite of mine. If you like lush, make sure you try this product out.

Delightful bubbles.

This is a classic Lush bubble bar. Bubble bars are designed to be crumbled under the running water to make lovely smelling bubbles. You can use it all at once or you can use a little bit at a time. I really love this one because it is a classic from lush and it smells amazing, a nice floral fruity scent! It just adds a nice touch to your bath without being too much.

Wee cutie

This bubble bar is a cute little thing, it's on the smaller size of lush goodies but don't underestimate its smaller size it packs a punch with the scent and masses of bubbles.

This pale blue wee chub is like a biscuit that you have just pressed with a fork before you bake it, topped with a cute little flower on the top.

The scent of this is very sweet floral, very bergamot-y it's lovely though if I'm in a real girlie mood and want a real treat. I'm one of those ones that if I'm having a bath I generally have a bath bomb and a bubble bar, but with this cutie you can get away with having it on its own.

I have even cut this bubble bar in half and can easily get 2 uses out of a bar without comprising the scent or bubbles. I also love how this wee beauty is good for the smaller members of the family, my 2 girls love this bubble bar and never flinch when they get the bubbles in their eyes from over excited splashing.

I really like this bubble bar and will repurchase again. Especially for the days when I'm feeling girlie and want to be shut away from the world, and forget the stresses and just melt in the bath.

Popping!!

I bought this gorgeous bubble bar on line with other Lush products.

It looks really cute with a kind-of 60s style flower on it.

I crushed half of it into a hot bath and lay back - bliss!!! The water was soft without being greasy and made my skin feel smooth and soft.

The scent? fabulous! not as strong as I've come to expect from Lush, but it lingered on my skin for ages afterwards. It wasn't as citrus as I'd expected from the ingredients, just a lovely fresh scent.

I will most definitely buy it again and will buy some to gift to my friends and family.

I recommend it very highly to others, as a gift to yourself or for your family or friends :)

I've had mine stored in a cupboard and the colours were quite faded by the time I got around to using it.

More girly than citrus

This bubble bar was just one of many of the many products that I picked up in Lush's amazing Boxing Day sale. It's sat patiently in a box since then as "I have too much Lush". I did notice that even though it was in a cool, dark place, the colours had faded since I received it. So Lush really is best used fresh.

Upon crumbling it into the water, I didn't notice a citrus smell as much as a floral, slightly sweet one. I can only describe it as a 'pretty' smell, quite feminine. Even though it is quite a faint smell it did linger, whereas I often find the stronger Lush smells don't (which is weird but I think this may be my sense of smell doing funny things somehow) Smelling the packet that is came in afterwards though, it reminds me a bit of The Olive Branch shower gel, which also has bergamot in it.

I managed to divide this up into three uses and got a good amount of bubbles each time. I put mine in a little net and run the water through that and it creates heaps more bubbles. The amount of bubbles will also depend on your water supply (I find I get loads more bubbles from tank water than city supply). This left my skin feeling soft immediately afterwards. I did still use a body lotion but I probably could've got away without one.

I would use this again but I don't think I would buy one full price. Mainly because I've had a sneak peak of what's coming up for Halloween and Christmas at Lush this year and it's going to be amaaaazing! I really need to work on my stash between now and then.

Pop in, stay a while

I was gifted a Pop in the Bath bubble bar at Christmas time and it is a very cute and girly treat. The bubble bar itself was one of the older ones now (but was still current at that time though) so mine is the white one with the pink flower (and I can't remember what colour center as that went a bath or two ago). Its scent is a very soft feminine and slightly sweet, lending towards floral... maybe orange blossom or a hint of rose. It is a nice relaxing soak that you can sit in for hours. It is quite a solid biscuit type bubble bar that takes a bit to dissolve in the water but it bubbles up nicely and the results last a while before becoming less. the water is soft but not hydrating... I am yet to find a nice hydrating bubble bath that doesn't leave my skin feeling grippy after.

Great value product as I managed 4 baths already with one left to go (5 total) you may want to use more or less depending on tub size and personal preference.

Floral or citrus?

I was lucky enough to be gifted this bubble bar. Through the plastic wrap it smelt quite citrusy and fruity. It wasn't until I used it I noticed more of a strong floral scent. One that wasn't to my liking.

As soon as I stuck the bar (a blue oval with a preety pink flower ontop) in the sivie under running water i noticed the instant blue water with a rapid growing amount of bubbles. As it all melted into the bath water i decided it was going to be a bath for my girls.

They came along happy enough to get in and play. I noticed the water was quite slippery as the girls found it hard to sit up straight lol. I think i may of not used enough water in the bath for the entire bath bomb, keep that in mind people. You could easily get more than 1 bath from this bar.

The fragrance stayed lingering on the girls well into the next day, I even had smeone say to my eldest daughter, "you smell like Lush!". She did indeed. Their skin also fet very soft to touch :)

I think this is a perfect bubble bar for any child/young teen...for me, I was expecting a cirtus fruity scent, instead I found it much more floral and it put me off using it.
