I got this gem in the recent BR beauty vault. It was a mother's day edition soap so of course I had to have it. It's not my usual style to choose from. I prefer the sweet scents and stay away from anything floral, especially lavender but it called to me.
For $12.90 I could get 6 bars of soap so the value is not there at all but the quality makes it worth the dent in the piggy bank. I read that it is designed to stand vertical but in all honesty I prefer to have the full view of the beauty laying down. It is both elegant and beautiful. It almost seems like the soap belongs in another era because of its antique look to it.
The smell is less offensively floral than I thought it would be. Usually overly floral tones make me nauseated but this one is very pleasant. The first and forefront scent is definitely the lavender followed by the rose. As always once wet and lathered it heightens the scents. I am glad to say my expectations were wrong on this one and I actually really love the scent left on my hands. I prefer not to use the Lush soap or any soap on my body because it leaves a squeaky feeling so I stick to hand washing. The scents stays on for a good couple of hours too which is lovely. It makes my hands soft which is a surprise because Lush soaps leave the rest of my skin feeling squeaky and just urgh,
Once you have used it a few times, this is where the surprise part comes. It doesn't even describe this part of it so it was so cool to find. One you wear away the layer of flower pictures you reveal a golden layer. It truly is a breath-taking realization. It makes the soap just that much better. As if a 3D picture of flowers wasn't beautiful enough, Lush make it extra special. I love it!
I received this in the recent Beauty Vault and was super excited to use it. First impressions were of the scent. Overpowering. I wasn't sure about using it after the smell but did find that while using in the shower, the smell became more suttle. It also lingered on the skin after showering which I found relaxing to go to bed to.
I saw the lavender decal on the front of the soap and automatically associated it with older women. However. this soap was designed for mum's so that might explain it. The decal was gone after the first wash which I found disappointing. There was a surprising gold glitter layer throughout the rest of the soap. I don't think it served a purpose other than to look pretty. And look pretty it did.
I didn't know that you could stand this soap up so have just been lying it flat like all other soaps. In saying that, I doubt it would have stood up for very long. I started using the soap on Monday and it will be finished when I use it tomorrow.
I found this soap to be highly moisturising with no need to moisturise after the shower which is super handy now that we are getting into colder weather.
For the price and duration of the product, I won't be purchasing. I just don't think it's worth it.
