A mineral-rich seaweed soap that looks as stunning as your newly-softened skin. If an early-morning dip’s out of the question, a wash with Sea Vegetable soap is the next best thing. Antiseptic lavender oil, exfoliating sea salt, and nutrient-rich arame seaweed leaves your skin feeling like a baby’s, with all irritations like sunburn and insect bites taken care of. Lime and lemon oil leave you feeling fresh and lively.

Didn't wow me

I love lush so was very happy to snap this up in the beauty vault. It is so stunning looking. Blue and green marbeled throughout with seaweed pieces on top. It definitely reminds me of the ocean.

The smell to me is so subtle that I barely notice it at all. It is hard to get a good lather. You have to make sure the soap is very wet but even then it does not lather much. I think I am just used to body wash with lots of suds.

It leaves my body feeling clean and fresh. No dry, tight feeling which I get from most soaps. While it is a lovely soap it is just not for me. I prefer a beautiful fragrant soap that lathers. It just did not wow me.

I think it is great value for money though as it is still going strong after a month. I would not repurchase as I think lush has much nicer soaps.

sea? yes! soap? no!

I have in the last few years started using bar soap as hand soap. I had been hoarding it for long enough and I decided that enough was enough, and I was going to use up my problem. Beauty Review is always adding to my problem, not that I mind. I love soap!

This soap is so gorgeous. Depending on what kind of cut you get, your soap can look like seaweed floating in seafoam atop beautiful blue waters. It can look like seaweed afloat in the same blue waters, with dots of seafoam. Or, you can turn it upside down and have beautiful blue on top of the mysterious black abyss that is the ocean floor, or the bottom of a rock pool. Any way you look at this soap, it’s a work of art.

The smell of the soap I thought was quite subtle. Even smelling it when it was brand new I couldn’t really pick up any definitive smells. It definitely smells clean, kinda like a citrusy breeze with an undertone of something that makes me think of the ocean. It doesn’t fully transport me beach side with a martini that Alejandro the pool boy just bought me, but it does wake me up and invigorate my senses.

However. I had mine wrapped, yet the color still faded. I think that because of this, the soap doesn’t work nearly as well, or smell nearly as good as it should. I have to work hard to get a lather, twisting the soap in my hands several times. As it’s a solid cube, you can imagine how hard that can be! My hands have finally worn down the edges (a knife may have been used) and while it’s easier to slip around in my hands now I still have trouble trying to work up a lather. The smell, now that I’ve been using it, now that it’s ‘old’, is not nearly as good as when I first sniffed it. Now, it just smells like soap, and the undertone is citrusy, my martini and Alejandro nothing but a distant memory.

My hands (as I don’t use solid soaps on my body) don’t get nearly as soft as I thought they would considering how great the ingredients sound on paper. They just feel like normal hands, normal skin. Maybe slightly dried out skin because of the salt. Perhaps the problem isn’t the soap, it was mine for letting it sit so long without use, but it was wrapped so I feel like that shouldn’t have happened. I do like this soap, but not enough to buy it again, free or not.

Tips: PSA: I don't know where Alejandro came from. I don't even know an Alejandro, and if I were to fantasize about being beach side with a martini it wouldn't be with an Alejandro! ;-)

Almost a hit, but sadly a miss

I love the concept of the LUSH Sea Vegetable Soap — I love the fresh scent of ocean-y products, it looks beautiful sitting in the bathroom and contains some fantastic ingredients. Unfortunately though I found this soap just wouldn't lather! I know that not all soaps HAVE to lather, but call me old fashioned — I just don't feel like my hands are as clean after using a non-lathering soap. For me that was the deal breaker, sadly. It's a lovely product otherwise, but I just couldn't bring myself to keep using it!

Not As Good As I was Hoping It Would Be

I received this product in my BBBE Cruelty Free Pamper box and was very excited as this was the second LUSH product that I have been able to try.

Firstly, the soap looked as pretty the picture. Loved the look of the soap it's so pretty. Secondly the scent smelled like the sea. Not an overpowering scent but did leave a lovely lingering smell. I did find that it was not as exfoliating as I thought it would be which was a bit of a disappointment, though it did leave my skin feeling relatively soft and clean.

I am not a soap person, I usually use body wash and will still continue to use body wash. I did enjoy using a soap for a change. I wouldn't repurchase this one though.

Tips: If you are tryptophobic (phobia of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps) like me you will find the seaweed side of the soap disturbing. I had it turned away from me the whole time, to avoid seeing it.

Summer time

This soap is very pretty blue and green with seaweed and salt in the top to give it that real sea feel and look to it and it smells super refreshing just perfect for summer days.

I haven’t tried lush soaps before and found it to be a bit too hard and waxyfor my liking it takes a bit to get any bubbles from it.

The scent hasn’t lasted on my skin as long as I would have thought given how strong the scent is which is a little disappointing.

It’s a lovely soap just not really for me.

So confusing

This is actually another lovely Lush soap - but it looks marine and smells like lavender, which entirely weirded me out!

The deep green colour is gorgeous, and lather/rinse/skin feeling is as for most other Lush soaps; not too stripping and imparts a lovely soft fragrance.

I'd happily buy this again - all Lush soaps are worth the price, in my book.

Zesty Citrus scented Soap

The first product I opened from the Beauty Vault was this soap. I’m a fan of Lush Soaps . I’ve tried a few in the past . I didn’t look up what kind of scent this soap was beforehand. It was a complete surprise.

Lush always package their soaps in Lush paper wrapping or clear plastic wrap. The consistency of this soap is solid. It really remind me of the sea . The Two shades of blue with sea weed marbelled through it. It’s really beautiful. I think it’s the prettiest soap from Lush.

Application is simple. I find it hard to lather . It only lathers when I use a shower puff. It smells fragrantly like zesty lemons. I think I was expecting a Salty scent similar to ocean salt.

Onebar has lasted me four to five weeks with daily use. I think it’s great value for money. It’s priced fairly. I love that Lush is vegan. I can see myself repurchasing this again.

That’s the first scent I picked up Maree. I was hoping for that sea side scent.

Soft and gentle

This has been a family favorite, I was fortunate to pick this up when Beauty review opened their Beauty vault over Christmas and we've been loving this ever since.

If the sea was formed into a soap bar, the Sea vegetable soap would be spot on. The top is layered with seaweed and salt which slowly changes into a turquoise blue like the ocean water.

In the shower this soap doesn't lather as easily as other soaps, because of this I find the soap bar lasted longer compared to regular soaps. It is scented with lemon and lime, I can also smell the saltiness when washing with this. After showering the scent isn't noticeable and fades quickly. With saying that, my skin is soft and I dont need to apply body cream like I normally do.

I have already repurchased 2 bars of this since using the one I received from the Beauty vault.

Mineral Goodness

I was lucky enough to get this gorgeous soap form the beauty vault.

My first impression was how much I love the colour - a beautiful deep turquoise and very sea-like. It is a square block so easy not to drop in the bath.

It doesn't lather too much which is good, as it didn't disappear during the first wash nor halve in size. It will last for a while which is great.

The scent before it hit the water was a little odd, and I can't identify the smell, but after it gets wet and lands on my skin, it is just beautiful And the scent lasts for ages on my skin after using it.

My skin feels very clean and soft after using it.

Another winner from Lush and I highly recommend it.

Tips: Lather, lie back, and love :)
