Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel Review

I was gifted this body wash before Christmas last year... and I really was not a fan!

First off as pretty much everyone knows this is a Limited Edition product sold by the company Lush, when I received it I was totally stoked as I know how much hype this product has everyone I know loves it, and repurchases it once its on sale near Christmas time. I just really don't get it? 1. It doesn't smell anything like Christmas holiday time to me, 2. It has chunks of glitter spread throughout the gel 3. It totally dried my skin out.

The packaging is easy to use, and simple and looks nice in the shower. Price point is more than I would like to spend on a body wash so I'm relieved I was gifted this rather than bought it and been disappointed.

It washes you well and leaves a slight scent behind, but when you pop it on the scrub ball/flannel the entire shower entraps the scent and its so sickly sweet, it put me off! I ended up using the rest of it as a shaving lotion.

I didn't find it moisturised my skin, in fact I feel that it actually made it drier maybe that was due to the glitter in the actual body wash, which also I was not a fan of, maybe if I was 12 or 13.

Sadly I won't be repurchasing this, but it has definitely not put me off Lush at all.

Having only recently purchased this I was straight into using it immediately! I have used it every night since and I have just placed another order to buy two more bottles! That smell... Heavenly!!

The first bottle I bought was a mere 100ml to try it out, but I have another shipment coming this week hopefully (two larger bottles) and I may (if a Christmas pack takes my fancy) buy more.

The shower gel is a pretty pink thick shower gel with blue shimmery sparkles through it. It smells like raspberry jelly and candyfloss. My only wish (and reason I haven't given it a perfect score) is that the blue shimmer doesn't stay around and the scent fades soon after leaving the shower.

I have admitted to my husband that I now have a Lush addiction and now he understands (or that's what he tells me). Why must this be limited edition? It reminds me of sweet childhood memories, and gorgeous bath products I had back then. It doesn't lather as much as other shower gels but that doesn't worry me in the slightest.

Ever feel like you are floating on a cloud of pink candy floss whilst eating pear drops with your eyes closed, there is the sound of a waterfall below you and then boom you're awake, that is the Lush Snow Fairy experience, you step into the shower and close your eyes then transport yourself to candy land. Lush only bring Snow Fairy out for the Christmas season so when it rolled around this year I made sure I was ready and purchased 3 x 250g (the largest size) bottles to store, I have been rationally using this inter spread with other shower gels to make it last through to the next release, it currently isn’t going well so I need to spread it out more as some days you just need this scent to make you go Ahh that’s better.

The packaging of this shower gel is in keeping with all the other bottles in the Lush family of products, with the exception of the flip lid this drove me insane with my first bottle but it must have been a dud as I am now on my 2nd bottle and this lid behaves itself. Inside is a shimmering pink liquid as sugary looking as a packet of candy floss and the shimmer of tiny silver particles gives it a glossy sheen that just gives me shivers thinking about it. I truly 100% love this shower gel, it makes me happy, and it makes the husband happy as he reckons it suits me but it also evokes good memories. Any Brit will know what I mean when I say that this reminds me of eating sticky pear drops on the back door step in the middle of summer, when crunched into that sweet flavour not only feels good on your mouth but it hits your nose with the smell of well...happiness. It is that in a bottle people...ugh I just can’t explain it to its full worth honestly. However if you are turned off by sweet things then walk on by this baby and leave it for those of us who do as you will not like it my friend!!

OK all the gooey I love this stuff for it smell aside, it is also a freaking awesome shower gel, it pours out with a syrup thickness that allows you to pop out just a blob onto a sponge or puff to get mountains of frothy foam all over you, if you squeeze out more than a blob you are going to be knee deep in foam whilst you shower. Maybe not exactly to your knee but this stuff has serious foam-ability. It is not drying, nor does it irritate me. In fact it leaves me silky smooth, smiling, in a good mood to tackle the day and the smell mellows done to an almost vanilla cream soda scent that sticks around for a while.

You know that sound Homer Simpson makes when he is drooling over something delicious? That is legitimately the sound I make when thinking about this or using it or writing a review about it...

I managed to score a bottle of this for myself at Christmas and then (much to my delight), a friend gave me another bottle as a Christmas present! Yeaaaah boiiiii. I was stoked. This is my all time favourite Lush shower gel.

As with other Lush shower gels, this comes in a squeeze bottle with a lid and cap. The packaging is quite cute and I like that Lush always have cute and clever descriptions of their products. The gel itself is a gorgeous pink and doesn't have any glitter.

The scent is... Absolutely heavenly!!! It's like candy floss and what unicorns would smell like. It is a super sweet and girly scent so this would be awesome for all ages, from little girls to teens to grown women. I think the scent can appeal to anyone that likes sweet scents. Even though I am not usually a sweet smell type of gal, this ticks all of the boxes. If you have smelled Candle Crushes Kid in a Candy store candle, this is like the gel version of that candle. Mmmmmm.

The only thing that makes me sad about this is that it is limited edition, so I believe it is only available around Christmas time. If you can, stock up on it at Christmas and enjoy it until next Christmas!

The Lush snow fairy shower gel is one of my all time favourite products from Lush! It smells amazing, very sweet like cotton candy and Bubblegum, it's super girly but suitable for girls of all ages. There is no downside to this product except that it is a Christmas limited edition product so unfortunately it's not available all year round. It is a runny pink formula with little bits of glitter, which don't stick to your body and make you super sparkly. The scent can smell sickly and overpowering but when you get out of the shower it isn't to overpowering it's a good subtle sweet lolly scent. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth and smelling sweet!

I first tried this a few years ago in a little Christmas pack from a colleague. I still hold her responsible for the chaos that ensues when this is released each year.

The packaging is just a standard Lush Bottle with a plan sticker. Normally the plain packaging would be something that didn't impress me - but this isn't so bad because they are such a popular brand they don't really need to draw people in with the packaging. They state "it's all trash really." Fair enough!

The formula is a BRIGHT pink liquid with shimmer through it, it's not the kind of glitter that sticks to your body, which I like because I think I'm a little old for body glitter. It foams up well with a loofah, which means you can use just a little.

The smell is just gorgeous, it's sweet...candy, vanilla, fun. I'm devastated when it runs out and I have to wait til the end of year release again! Definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a sweet fragrance.

If you are a sucker for the sweets like I am then look no further than Lush Snow Fairy. This limited edition gem is only available around Christmas time, and sometimes during Christmas in July and usually sells out so you have to be pretty quick to get your hands on it.

This lil babe checks all my boxes. Its 100% cruelty free like every product Lush sells. It has plastic free glitter, and it smells like bubble gum and candy floss made sweet sweet pink babies.

It lathers really nicely and gives you a clean but not squeaky feel on the skin.

If you love this smell and have missed out the Godmother Soap has the same scent to tide you over till its time to stock up again. I usually get a few big bottles to last me and it never stays in the shower for others to use. I have found all my male flat mates LOVE IT!

If you want to smell like sweetness, happiness and unicorn dreams then this is for you.

This product is a lot of fun. Rather like a pink snow globe, it has glitter that settles to the bottom, guaranteeing you countless wasted but satisfying hours shaking the bottle to mix up the glitter.

The scent is all things pink and girly - candy floss, bubble gum, etc. As someone who doesn't like pink (having used up 150% of my pink quota as a young child), the body wash was slightly alarming (so pink! So sweet!), but I couldn't deny the smell was yummy, rather than over-powering.

Other than the scent this is a fairly standard product to use. It is not particularly moisturising (nor does it pretend to be) so it may not be suitable for those with particularly dry skin.

Like all Lush products this product is ethically made and packaged in an environmentally friendly way. You are encouraged to recycle Lush packaging. I <3 the ethics of this company. Lush 4 president!
