I joined the masses when the Snow Fairy Shower Gel came out with the Xmas stock. I love me some cotton candy pink looking girly stuff to sit in my shower. The fact that it smells like sweet candy was just a plus.
I was greedy, as normal when it comes to anything Lush so got the biggest bottle in 500g and paid $34.95. Some may think, whoa $34.95 for shower gel really?! I would rather the $5 stuff at the supermarket. My thoughts are if I can keep it natural, and animal cruelty free then I am winning at life and supporting a great cause.
I love sweet scents normally but when I took my first deeps sniffs of this Snow Fairy, my senses were overloaded. I love sweet but this was sickening to say the least. I couldn't bring myself to keep it so passed it on to the next willing participant. I was ok with this decision until I got some more for xmas from my step daughter! I was immediately transported to my own personal candy kingdom. The smell I get from it is fruit stick lollies. I don't know why but when I first had a whiff it wasn't for me. This time I wanted to swim in a big pool of it.
I alternate now between this and another Lush shower gel I am obsessed with. This shower gel lathers up very easily and feels like a silken sheet of bubbles all over my body. Once rinsed the heavenly scent continues and my skin feels like squishy velvet. The smell of candy stays on my skin for hours after and I often get told I smell good. after using it. My son even likes to sniff me because "I smell like a mummypop" lol his words. Seriously I didn't love it at first but now, I have found a new fave! Gimmie moooooore.
I absolutely love Lush shower gels. I tend to stock up during their sales by purchasing a few of the gift boxes, so I usually get the shower gels in 100ml sizes. Lush products in general can be a little expensive, but I feel like the shower gels are great value for money and come in such a great range of scents. Since you only need a little bit to get a good amount of lathering and to experience the scent, they last a reasonable amount of time.
I love the scent of Snow Fairy - I also use the Bubblegum lipscrub which has a similar sweet scent, and I have the soap ready to try. Sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming in the shower gel formula (I think it’s the pear notes), but if you enjoy sugary scents then this is perfect. I tended to use it every second day or so, as it’s quite strong and indulgent. It’s not overly creamy and moisturiser is still needed afterwards like with most shower gels, so it’s selling point is really the scent - I’d definitely try a sample or pick up the 100ml bottle to begin with.
The only disappointment came with the sparkle - I could see it in the bottle, but it all sunk to the bottom and I never actually saw it on my skin. Maybe this happened because I used the shower gel after it’s best before date (I had lots of other products to use up first!), but it was a bit of a let down since it looked so pretty in the bottle. I would definitely repurchase, although I’d probably pick up the 100ml bottle again as I love trying a range of shower gels.
