Although I hadn't smelled this prior to purchase it, I bought this when Lush recently had a 50% off sale. I used that as a chance to try things I had yet to give a go and this was one of them.
I realise it probably sounds silly but I love that Lish soaps are a big, raw chunk. There is something really appealing to me about that. As mentioned above, this looks like a delicious desert with layers of goodness.
I love that you can see the layers in the soap. This is great at exfoliating your skin and definitely cleans you. After using it my skin feels super soft and clean. However, I am not a massive fan of the scent. It isn't bad or anything, it just isn't really what I like. It smells like a kind of natural smell that is pleasant but I prefer something more musky in general (although Lush's Snow Fairy is an exception).
This is a great soap and I love the way it makes my skin feel so I will use it up for that. I wouldn't purchase it again though, as there are other soaps from Lush that I prefer the scent of.
I have tried a few Lush soaps, and this one has certainly proved to be the most moisturising. I still used a moisturiser post shower, but it was so creamy and didn't leave a 'squeaky clean' feeling behind which was great. However, I felt I used it up more quickly than I have with other Lush soaps, and I had to keep it super dry when not using it, as it tended to lose its shape and become quite soft after just a couple of uses.
This is a soap that looks beautiful, and I also loved that the dried fruits provided an exfoliating effect for the first few uses. Nothing too sharp or abrasive, and the only downside was that they didn't last - after a few uses I was left with just the base of the soap. The smell was delicious and creamy, and I definitely picked up the bergamot scent along with a bit of spice. Despite being quite strong, it didn't linger heavily on my skin or overpower my senses like some luxurious scents tend to, and I enjoyed the scent just as much on my last use of the soap as I had on first smelling it. I think this would be a great one to try in the cooler months - the moisturising formula along with the creamy scent would be just the thing to brighten up a dark day.
