I purchased this as an animal testing free alternative to paw paw ointment, which is known to be the healer of all things. At the store, the lady told me that this too, was known as the healer of all things. However I realised upon using this, and dealing labels etc. that this is not the case, and it's really just a moisturising like balm.
The first thing I noticed, was that it is much bigger than I expected. Lush usually has really expensive products with little content, but this one was different.
It comes in a nice sturdy screw top aluminium tin, filled with the potion. The smell is really nice, one of my favourite smells from lush products, it reminds me of a middle eastern dessert, although I can't put my finger on which one! It also smells like those kewpie plastic dolls I had when I was little. I loved the sweet smelling plastic they were made from and the scent of this sort of reminds me of that as well. Either way it is delicious.!
It's a soft consistency, that melts almost instantly with the touch of you fingers, and spreads really easily as well. I do find that while you do spread it, it does leave a bit of residue on the fingers.
It does a really good job of softening the skin, although you don't get the result right away. When I put it on, it just feels like an oily film on my skin, however 24 hours later, I am amazed by how soft my skin is! It really is amazing.
While it's not necessarily like the pawpaw ointment, in terms of helping heal/remove scars, I found that this kind of did that. I've had the same scar on my thigh from when i accidently cut myself 6 months or so ago. After one application of this, the redness is significantly reduced!
This product is the bomb. Growing up we always had rawleighs ointment in the house and Ultrabalm is the new age version of this. Perfect for any skin needs. We use this when we have chaffed lips or our son has acquired yet another graze. Perfect
Tips: Carry one in your handbag and keep one in the first aid kit.
