This was a limited edition for Mother's Day. I only got the smallest bottle so I have been using it sparingly since then.
It comes in the usual Lush shower gel packaging: a clear round bottle, black and white label along with a use by sticker telling you who made it, and a black flip top lid. It is a lovely opaque lilac in colour with an added lustre. I can never seem to get the lustre mixed into any of the Lush shower gels. Despite a good shake it always seems to sit at the bottom of the bottle looking like a separated ingredient that shouldn't be there at all.
Lush describe this as strawberries and cream scented although it has more warmth and depth to it than that. The ingredients list reveal nothing strawberry related at all. Maybe it's the geranium that I'm attracted to (which is also in Prince Charming, the Valentine's Day limited edition) It's more strongly scented in the bottle than on the skin. I use it with a shower puff and it lathers up well (I probably use too much). It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, even more so after I applied the matching body conditioner. Which, by the way was divine - I went through two tubs of that.
I love Lush shower gels. They're not cheap but now whenever I buy a supermarket brand, I instantly regret not buying Lush instead. But my favourites are always limited editions! I will definitely buy this and the body conditioner again if they release them next year.
I had seen this come into the shops when I was in Australia and so when it made it to NZ later that month I had to try it. Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Gel is one of their limited edition products, this time for Mothers Day.
The gel comes in the standard Lush clear-with-a-black-cap bottle, and as always the caps on these are recyclable. I personally re-use the smaller sized bottles for gym/travel etc shower gel bottles as they are the perfect size.
Yummy Mummy is a very pretty purple shower gel. The colour is very deep for a pale shade and has an almost opalescent gleam to it, and a layer of shimmer in the bottom that when you shake it up a bit enhances that glow even further. It's quite thick for a shower gel, but because of that is fairly luxurious in feel. This shower gel cleans and scents your skin, leaving it soft and feeling pampered. Lush do shower gel incredibly well, and it says a lot that you can also use it on your hair- clearly these are not products based around harsh soaps and chemicals.
The scent is a sweet-spicy floral, reminiscent of a sweet musk (reminds me a little of the Body Shop White Musk but sweeter and a bit more intense). While is is quite an intense scent, much of the intensity washes away with the product leaving a faint aroma of flowers and spice.
I would purchase this again potentially, but it's by no means my favourite Lush Shower Gel. It's lovely but I prefer their Snow Fairy, Prince Charming, and Happy Hippy.
Tips: Layer with the matching body conditioner for a really great scent
