I was so excited to try the Manicare Crystal Hair Remover as physical limitations have made shaving difficult at times. I’m very impressed with the results from the hair remover, I’ve not had any other hair removal products do better. The tool is so easy to use, and extremely convenient in multiple ways. The exfoliatory effect while removing hair is a lovely bonus, my skin feels soft and smooth afterwards. I found myself having to guess the pressure to use at first, but by the third use I had a good handle on the dos and don’ts.

I finally got around to buying one after seeing reviews online. I was absolutely sceptical that it would work at all. It's winter and I haven't shaved my legs for at least two weeks so I had plenty of growth. I was pleasantly surprised with the result. My legs felt super smooth afterwards. The crystal hair remover exfoliates at the same time as removing the hair, I get the impression it is lightly sanding the hair off rather than "removing" it in the traditional sense. I didn't experience any irritation, but my legs are fairly hardy and I didn't try anywhere else yet.
Tips: Don't press too hard. Gently smooth circular motion for the best results
I was recommended this by family who also has this product. The crystal hair remover is quick and painless to get rid of leg hair and does not leave behind any red dots. The hair remover has an almost sandpaper like effect on the leg and removes old skin leaving them silky and smooth. I did however try this on my armpits but it stung so had to stop. Works great on legs but not armpits, i have not tried anywhere else.
Tips: Rub in gentle circular motions.
I went into this trial not really knowing what to expect, considering I have only ever shaved before and never even heard of a crystal hair remover. Well, I have been pleasantly surprised! The hair remover I received is sleek, black and kind of shaped like a computer mouse, which makes it comfortable to hold and easy to get into hard spots. When I first felt the crystal surface with my hand it was quite rough and wondered if it would hurt to use, but this product is actually quite painless! Using slow, small scrubbing motions I found worked best for me, with moderate pressure which didn't irritate my skin at all! It definitely worked as an exfoliant, taking the top dead layer of skin off alongside all the hair, leaving my skin looking admittedly more pale, but hairless and incredibly smooth! This is definitely something you have to commit a certain amount of time to, rather then a quick shave that some may be used to but I found the crystal hair remover very effective and user friendly. It may be gross, but I even tried it on my fathers hairy legs and it worked just as well, so if there's any men reading, it's kind of a one size fits all kind of thing! Overall, a very useful and effective product for those who may struggle with strawberry legs or cutting yourself whilst shaving. :)
Tips: Definitely have a moisturiser on standby, as this product needs to be used dry and can leave you very ashy.
I’ve seen these all over my socials and I just couldn’t wrap my head around how it really works. I was also very nervous of damaging my skin because it looked quite abrasive. So when I gave it a go I was pleasantly surprised on how fast and easy it took my leg hairs off, I waited to see overnight to see if I would have any reaction or redness the next day and it was minimal and my legs felt so silky and smooth, amazing! This would be a great product for travelling on the go because it’s light and compact in size. I only tried on my legs and maybe my arms next but I wouldn’t recommend using this product anywhere else such as intimate areas, underarms or even your face. Definitely would use this product again!
I was really excited to see this be an item to try as a trial member however, I was a bit disappointed in how it performed.
I found it didn't really do as it said by removing hair but it did exfoliate! I used small circular motions and applied just enough pressure so that it sits on the skin. I learnt the hard way the first time I used it to not push down too hard otherwise it leaves the skin with a very "cool" feeling and later red bumps appear. It was slightly painful a few days later as well.
I used it on my legs and my arms. I will say it takes a long long time to use and hair is not removed every time, you need to go over areas and if you go over areas too much it starts getting a bit sore. I found that along the shin bone of the leg, it was really difficult to use as the remover doesn't sit flush with the bone and so I wasn't able to use it there. It would be nice if it was curved or something rather than flat so I was able to get the shin bone.
Overall, my good ol' shaver wins this time as this took way longer and results are not guaranteed! Plus I was left a bit red and sore.
Tips: Don't push too hard and don't go over areas too much!
The manicare crystal hair remover feels like one of those glass nail files. It’s easy to hold in either hand and the grip side has a matte finish so it doesn’t slip.
You use it in circular motions to effectively buff off the hair. It’s challenging to get into crevices, like the dents at your elbow. You do get the smell of burning hair (like with the cream chemical removers) but overall it definitely functions. It removed most of the hair from my arms (I have very hairy arms) though it was a little patchy and stung a little, I think I overdid it a fraction. You have to be a bit careful not to over exfoliate.
I used it on my leg - one leg dry-shave and the other crystal removal. The time was similar though I am faster at shaving. The results felt the same and after a couple of days they still feel the same. But it was my shaved leg that had bit more of a sting this time for a bit after (that is normal for me and I have heard it happens if you do that use fresh blades).
Overall, it’s a novel idea. I wouldn’t use it for my regular hair removal product but it would be great of you’re going away camping with less access to water and not have to worry about the blades dulling or rusting. So the crystal remover has it’s place for sure.
This is an interesting concept and one which I was intrigued by when I first heard about it. I often have dry legs with the odd inflamed follicle after shaving my legs so the exfoliating nature of this hair remover was really good. The object itself fits nice into your hand although after awhile I did have a bit of a cramp. The crystal pad tends me of a crystal nail file and as you rub it on your legs in the circular motion described it is clearly sloughing off any dead skin. My legs felt so smooth! I found it quite tricky to remove all the hair especially in areas like behind the knees and around the ankles. After using you are left with a white dust (skin I guess) all over and the box says to rinse legs after use. I couldn't be bothered with that but gave them a rub down with my towel. My legs felt beautifully smooth but this would be no good in the summer after tanning as it would remove the layer of tan. The next day I could feel some hair again so it's definitely something you would need to use really regularly. I think using this the night of a tan would be ideal as you'd get a smooth surface without the open pores of shaving.
Tips: Practice makes perfect. This is worth persevering with I think.
Interesting little gadget. Though it worked well don't be too eager and press to hard, kind of feels like carper burn afterwards. Learned my lesson and lighteninged up on the grip and from there it was smooth sailing. It does a good job of removing the hair, even the coarser hair on my legs. If you are in a hurry this might be a quick fix. Good for travelling as well, small enough to not take up too much space.
Love this product, used it twice and it worked better the second time, operator knowledge. Make sure you skin is freshly cleansed, gentle movements over the area got the nest results. Use on a couple of areas and worked well on both. People also ask Does the crystal smooth hair remover actually work? It works and is good at preventing razor burn. I recommend patch testing before especially in more sensitive areas. Crystal hair eraser left me with smooth, no irritation legs.
Tips: Make sure your skin is dry. No moisturizer before.
