This was sent to me by the beauty review team. This comes in a handy tube and you only need a pea size of it to spread over your face. It starts off a little greasy and you need to work it into your skin but once it's absorbed it's all soaked up and my skin great. A major plus point for me is that it has sunscreen in it which means I don't have to put on an extra layer. I would definitely go for it again but unfortunately it does not do much for my post delivery peeling skin and that is a major area of concern at the moment.

I really love this moisturiser, my skin is very prone to reacting to moisturisers especially if they have sunscreen in them and this was not the case (except when it was a super hot day and it started effecting my eyes). I love the smell, the packaging and that is made in New Zealand, paraben free, not tested on animals and has a good range of oils and vitamins in it. I also did not get sunburnt on the face once while wearing this. I would highly recommend anyone who has sensitive skin and who likes using natural products to try this.
Tips: You don't need much of this, if you use to much you get the white greasy sunscreen look so a pea size added to different areas of the face is enough :-)
1. PACKAGING: Product came packaged in a well labelled and effective box. In the box is a tube with an open close lid. The tube is clearly well labelled and has everything you need to know about the product on it.
2. THE PRODUCT: Like the cleanser and toner, this product also has a strong fragrance. It's packed with alot of ingredients like Manuka Honey, Hibiscus Flower and butter milk powder to name a few. It says it is suitable for all skin types. The moisturiser is a thick white cream consistency. It feels slightly on the oily side. It claims to be SPF30 which you can kind of tell that it has this protection in it as the feel of it does resembles that of your everyday typical sunscreen.
3. HOW I USE IT: After cleansing and toning I will apply a small amount of the moisturiser to my finger tips. I then gently apply the moisturiser to my skin, avoiding contact with my eyes. I use this only in the morning.
4. MY FINAL THOUGHTS: I love that it has some amazing beneficial ingredients and that it also has SPF30 in it. However with my skin type and what I look for in a moisturiser, this product is not working for me. The fragrance it too strong for my liking and as it is usually my last step if I dont wear makeup, I find the fragrance settles and takes a while for it to actually fade away. I find the consistency of this moisturiser to be too thick and heavy feeling for my liking as I usually go for a lightweight moisturiser. And When I first started using this it felt thick on the skin and almost seemed as though it had left that white sunscreen cast on my face and being medium skintoned isn't a good look. However with all the flaws I found with this moisturiser, I believe that in conjunction with the cleanser and toner it has helped with the overall texture and appearance of my skin. So I guess with every bad thing comes some good.
Overall Ranking: 4/10
Tips: Use in conjunction with the cleanser and toner for amazing results.
The Wild Ferns Manuka Honey Protective Hydrating Moisturiser with SPF30 has some good things going for it - is certainly non-greasy, moisturising, works well under makeup and is an easy way to achieve sun protection without changing your daily routine. The problem with it is that it's really thick with a similar consistency to sunblock which refuses to rub in! I hate having to force rub products into delicate facial skin so this moisturiser is sadly just not for me.
Tips: You only need a pea sized amount of this product.
I love the Wild ferns Manuka Honey skincare range. My skin is looking so much better after using this regime for 2-3wks. I apply this moisturiser every morning after cleansing with the Manuka Honey foaming face wash. It's hydrating and I love the smell. It had SPF 30 which is a bonus. The consistency is different to all other creams I have tried, it kind of feels like it has exfoliate in it but honestly after applying it, it goes away, not as bad as it sounds. Feels nice on the skin, not heavy or sticky and the scent lingers for a few hours which I love. I will definitely purchase this again!
Tips: Good for oily skin
I received this moisturiser as part of a trial team, thanks BR, and was keen to get them as I'd only seen them in souvenir shops. I hadn't ever really considered actually using them due to them not being in normal stores so was keen to give the product a go.
The product comes in a yellow tube with a white cap. It's quite a thick texture, probably due to the SPF content. When I was using it I found that it left my face a wee bit white and took a while to soak in so make sure you don't use too much.
What really got me with this moisturiser was that it felt grainy, like there were bits of sand in it. It felt more like an exfoliator than a moisturiser!. Eventually you don't notice the bumps and they disappear/disintegrate but it was such a weird feeling. I feel like moisturiser is a treat for your skin after a long, sometimes rough and harsh cleaning process but this wasn't relaxing at all!
Despite the strange grainy texture of the moisturiser it actually did a good job of hydrating my skin and leaving it feeling fresh.
I have one other small issue with the product and that's the smell, it's too strong for me.
All in all a good product that does a good job but will not be using again due to grainy texture! I was quite pleased to go back to my goodness moisturisers after trialing this, it just felt so much better!
Love the packaging on this product, such a cute wee tube and easy to use design. i loved that it had SPF in it but also found that it felt like i was applying straight sunscreen to my face, and left it white. It takes quite a while to soak into the skin and is super thick. Aside from that, it leaves the skin feeling super soft once it is soaked it and i am continuing to use this daily - not my new holy grail but it is great for days where i will be getting a bit of sun exposure
Tips: You only need the tiniest amount and even then it still leaves your face white
This is a great moisturiser that is not too heavy on the skin but also makes it feel very moisturised. I like that it is spa 30 therefore do not need to worry about applying sun screen to my face whenever I go outside. The texture of this product is a little bit strange, it is grainy a bit like sand however is still overall a good product and would use it again.
This moisturizer did what it says it does. It had a lovely consistency and the fact that its SPF 30 is a great bonus. What I didn't like about this product is that it felt like it was grainy, almost like an exfoliating cleanser. I'm not sure if I received a dud product or what but the little bits did go away eventually.
Once on, the product did a pretty good job of keeping my face hydrated, but I'm not sure I'd purchase again as I feel there may be better value for money products out there.
On paper, this moisturiser is everything I look for - suitable for dry skin, SPF 30, non greasy, NZ made and reasonable price...
Unfortunately I was really put off by the texture of the product. I found it to be grainy/gritty and it felt like I was exfoliating my skin rather than putting moisturiser on. The texture is the thing stopping me from using this moisturiser everyday. Maybe I was rubbing it into my skin too vigorously but I did feel like I had sort of micro cuts on my face from the gritty texture.
I also had to experiment with the amount of product I used as a little bit does go a long way. If you use too much you will end up a bit greasy despite the non-greasy formula claims. I would also recommend waiting a couple of minutes at least before putting makeup over this product so it can sink into the skin.
Tips: A little goes a long way! Apply a small amount but remember, if you use a small amount it may not provide enough SPF for use in direct, hot sun.
