I was intrigued by the hype surrounding baby lips - I mean all lip balm sticks are pretty much the same right? (Except Hurraw - oh my, now THAT is a lip balm worthy of hyperbole.)
The packaging is cute - bright, girly and unmissable. But essentially the same as any other chapstick - round, cap lid etc.
The range of 'flavours' are pretty standard, fruity and fresh - nothing sounds off-putting. I chose mentholated mainly because I was curious if it would be an alternative to Carmex
The menthol scent is strong and it does have a refreshing cooling sensation on your lips. For some reason I never associate menthol with moisturising, but my lips felt instantly smooth. Consistency wise the product is not 'bitty' like other cheap lip balms but it doesn't feel as creamy as some more high-end lip balms do.
I don't believe the product lasted 8 hours - I use lip balm through the day (I have pots and sticks everywhere!) and I felt I had to reapply this more than I would my Hurraw, to keep that soft feeling.
So to sum up - I still don't really understand the hype around the product. I think the brand, packaging, price and wide availability are more appealing than the actual product to be honest. There are better lip balms out there, even in this price range.(Sierra Bees for example)
Its better than ChapStick but not as good as nivea lip butter. Didn't make them baby soft but certainly softer. The only one I don't like is the one that adapts to a supposedly baby pink colour as it turns my lips almost red.
