Maybelline Make-up Remover Eye & Lip is an oil-free, fragrance free, opthalmologically and dermatologically tested make-up remover that is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
The duo-phase blue and white liquid easily removes stubborn make-up, including long-wear and waterproof or water-resistant formulas like Bobbi Brown Gel liner, Benefit’s Push-up Liner and Maybelline’s Superstay lipsticks.
Best of all, I find that there’s no greasy residue, no stinging and no blurry vision. It’s affordable and the conveniently sized 70ml clear plastic bottle has a secure screw top lid which I find is perfect for traveling, as it doesn’t leak or take up too much space, and it’s easy to see how much is left in the bottle.
To remove non-transfer, smudge-proof make-up, I shake the bottle well before wetting a cotton pad with the remover, and then hold the wet cotton pad against my closed eyes (or lips) for 30 seconds to soften the make-up before gently wiping it off. I find by doing this, I wipe my eyes less often, so there’s less chance of tugging at the delicate skin around my eyes. Simply rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Once upon a time I bought a waterproof mascara that was so waterproof that nothing would get rid of it easily without seriously rubbing my eyes to bits. Micellar water didn't make a dent in it, jojoba oil seemed to turn it into flakes and needed a lot of rubbing. After hunting high and low I found this: Maybelline Make up remover for lips and eyes. Wow! This stuff takes off any and every waterproof eye product, cream eye shadows (MAC and Maybelline) and long last staining lipstick... it's great!
It ranges in price, depending where you find it, from $6 to $9. When I see it on sale I grab a bottle or 2 so I never run out. I'm not sure what all the ingredients do, but there is a sort of oily layer and a watery layer. You have to give it a good shake and then apply with a cotton pad or such like. While you're using it, keep shaking it, as the mixture seperates quickly, The formula has little to no smell and even though it's highly effective, my sensitive skin has no reaction - I expected to be allergic to something blue and oily! But it's as gentle as micellar water. I pretty much stopped using micellar after I found this, and the original go-to jojoba oil just sits there waiting. Highly highly recommended!
Tips: Keep shaking it!
For heavy makeup, wet a cotton pad and gently pressed it on your eyelid for 10 seconds, you'll find most everything comes off very easily.
