I got the Mr bean coffee scrub in the Christmas 15 beauty vault. I was quite excited to try this scrub because obviously it has coffee in it, I am a huge coffee lover! I had recently used up the Victoria secret body scrub (this is the only other scrub I have used).
The scrub is housed in a zip seal bag. I felt this was a real let down. It made a already messy scrub messier.
Application was quite difficult because the scrub is messy to apply and you end up with more scrub on the shower floor. I found the best way is to hop in the shower, get wet and then scrub up while the shower is off.
Even though application is messy I really enjoy using this scrub .The coffee smell wakes me up. The texture is a little course but I feel this just means it's working. It's definitely not harsh on the skin.
I use it twice a week and have noticed my skin feels so soft after each use and my moisturiser goes on easier too. It definitely does a good job as a body scrub.
One other problem I had with this scrub is that it leaves brown marks on your skin, prehaps I am using too much!
Overall I love how soft this makes my skin feel so I would definitely purchase it again.
I have eczema, so I'm always on the lookout for good products. The packaging is gorgeous, very minimal modern monochrome font. It's an Australian brand, but made in China, and claims to be all organic which is a huge plug.
This was a really nice scrub for soothing my skin, and also smells like a divine coffee. How it works is you get your skin wet in the shower, then rub the scrub all over, leaving in for a few minutes before rinsing off.
However, I found it was really messy. It's coarser than most other coffee scrubs and doesn't wash off so easily, so if you're not prepared for this you might spill a lot on the shower floor, or if you haven't rinsed thoroughly you will get it in your towels. If you're looking for a free coffee-scented tan though, this will leave a hint of tint on your skin that you would need very vigorous washing to remove. Generally I use scrubs in a quick shower, but I think with this scrub I would recommend taking your time.
The coffee and coconut oil combination clearly work though, because they definitely leave my skin very soft and not as itchy. If you're okay with spending a bit of time and effort, this works really really well.
Tips: Pour the powder into a jar to make it more manageable to control how fast you're pouring the stuff out as the packaging can be a little difficult to work with in the shower.
