Neutrogena Day Cream Spf 15 Oil Free Review

I tried this at the recommendation of a friend, and while it is very light and goes on easily, it always leaves me looking so shiny! I haven't had this problem with other SPF moisturisers, so I'm not sure what the difference is. However, it acts as a great base for makeup and it always goes on smoothly. If only it didn't make me so shiny!

I used this quite a bit as a teenager to compensate for oily skin. To be honest, the oil-free recipe doesn't do anything to stop the usual build up of oil particularly on my T-Zone. I found Essano mattifying moisturiser to be far better at this.

I'm glad it is SPF 15, but it is important to remember that this is still a very low level of sun protection. A couple of times I wore this moisturiser out and about walking round the city only for a couple of hours but still got slightly sunburnt.

The thin consistency of the moisturiser makes it easily spreadable across the face, but also means you need a couple of pumps to thoroughly cover the needed areas. It did still last me a few months though.

I bought this as part of a trio of Neutrogena skincare regime I was trying out. I got the facial wash, the toner and this. What got my eyes landing on this and ultimately made my decision was two factors; the oil free formula and the SPF content.

I had used Neutrogena before and remember how much I liked it at the time so knew that this would work well based on past experience. The bottle is white, very clinical looking which is quite fitting for the brand and with a pump top. I love the pump top because it allows me to get small amounts at a time without wasting any. It keeps the bottle clean too because often I find that some lids and tops tend to leave product around the neck of the bottle but this one is perfect and mess free.

The formula is very light weight and creamy, It doesn't have a prominent smell which suits me perfectly. I at times can't stand frangranced products on my face. I wash, and tone my face before hand and then dab this on my face using my ring finger and its twin I massage it in to my skin. It absorbs quickly and without leaving a greasy residue like some moisturisers can do.

The results afterix weeks is absolutely life changing. My skin is even, not red and break out free for once. Of course I get the odd blemish at that time of the month but no where near like I used to. The ultimate for me is that I have worn a foundation free face to work three times now and feel quite confident in doing so. That is HUGE for me! I am a believer!
