Unfortunately out of the 4 products sent to review this is the only one that didn’t perform to its claim. I’m not sure if it is entirely the product to blame though as I generally do suffer with puffy eyes but since I started using rosehip oil a few months ago this has all but cleared up, I also have been getting a few early nights so I didn’t have huge puffy, dark bags for this product to rid me of, I actually feel I did it injustice. That being said it hasn’t made them worse and as I stated in another review I removed the oils and serums out of my daily skin care routine so that I could give these products an honest and fair review. I have also noticed that where I normally get dry, flaky almost crusty looking (Mmmm sounds attractive right) patches around my fine lines, you know where them horrid crow’s feet are going to be, has been better with no flaky or crusty dry patches so I assume that it is this roll on that has helped keep this area hydrated.
Design wise, the roll on comes in a tube with a metal type ball at the entrance that acts as the roller to roll on the lotion contained inside the tube. It is a simple design with the same aqua blue colouring as the result of the products of this range. Very easy to use, with a screw on lid which helps prevent spilling or drying out of product.
Formula, the liquid inside the comes out onto the roller ball as a thin film of liquid without any visible colouring or fragrance, for the purpose of the reviewing aspect I squeezed the tube hard to get out past the roller onto my finger to verify that it is a colourless slightly oily textured liquid.
Application, squeezing on the tube to get the liquid moving across the roller ball, you then just swipe it around your closed eye. It has a cooling effect that instantly refreshed my eyes and left a clear trail on my skin which looks like I had just worked a line of water around my eye, it then settled into the skin after a few seconds.
I have used this as part of a 10 day trial of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range and I am in love with this eye roller! I am one of those girls who knows I should be using an eye-cream but I have very sensitive eyes prone to Milia (little white bumps under the eyes) which are worsened by greasy creams, and I usually only use gels but many gels irritate my eyes and make them water due to high alcohol content so I tend to just use my regular moisturiser as eye cream. I am delighted to say this does not sting my eyes, is cooling and soothing with it's metal ball applicator and despite being so lightweight (which means it is great for applying under makeup and other creams) it really moisturises my under eye area whilst quickly absorbing leaving no greasy residue or stinging and has rapidly helped to reduce dark circles and plumped up my fine lines within the trial period. This is a product I can definitely see myself using continuously. Feels amazing after a hard day staring into a monitor or to refresh and awaken tired eyes. EDIT - I have stopped using this product sadly I also bought another one for my bag but I cannot use them any longer as I am developing bumps under my eyes - this is pretty usual for me with eye products - it's back to the drawing board for me!
Tips: For a cooling de-puffing apply first thing in the morning for wide awake eyes!
