Bought this in New World at half price, go go go! It makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated and works well for dry skin. I also have sensitive areas on my face and this cream is the only cream that doesn't irritate. The only thing I don't like is its a blue colour to match the packaging in the hydro range, which I feel is a bit unnecessary.

Tips: Great for dry/sensitive skin
I have trialled this product for 10 days as part of the Hydro Boost skin care range. This comes in beautiful heavy translucent jar which looks and feels luxurious and expensive though I hope that it is recyclable as I feel the packaging is quite bulky and could be wasteful if recycling is not an option. This is a great product similar to high end versions of hydrating gels which are designed to be complement a skincare routine when skin is in need of extra attention. This wonderful gel-crème is a smooth translucent pale blue formula with a light perfume which smells aquatic and reflects the blue/cooling theme of the product. Very soothing and therapeutic to apply it smells and feels wonderful but the scent may not be great for those who are sensitive to fragrance. Sinks in rapidly and leaves the skin feeling like velvet. The box states 'doubles skins moisture in 1 hour' but I feel it does this within seconds of applying. I personally use this/prefer it over the Night concentrate in this range and have been using it as a night treatment, but have also used it as a hydrating mask before applying the day gel, and I find it super soothing under the eyes. A little bit under makeup also works a treat to smooth out any dry patches. I really feel this is value for money as you can use it for many purposes. I wake up with super smooth, grease-free skin which is perfect for warmer weather and I can see this as being a great refreshing summer alternative to my traditional heavier night creams
Tips: Great multi-purpose hydrating gel - could be irritating to those sensitive to perfumes though I have relatively sensitive skin and am fine with it.
Finally I think I have found a product that combats my dry skin! As soon as I put it onto my freshly cleansed skin it just sank it. It wasn't greasy or oily but instantly felt my skins moisture levels had doubled! After a few hours my skin felt even more moisturized (Like it states). It is also a fantastic base for my make up as I felt my make up lasted longer with this as a base.
Tips: Apply in the morning after cleansing and enjoy moisture filled skin all day long (:
I have to admit, first off, that I haven't used Neutrogena products for years and have been negative about them, so it's fair to say I wasn't expecting much. Whether that means I'm unduly pleasantly-surprised or unduly looking-for-reasons-to-keep-hating-Neutrogena, I really couldn't tell you.
I used the Boost in place of my normal day moisturiser, and have used it for about 10 days now.
Immediate feel of it worried me - my skin felt quite 'tight' - as it does after astringent/toner. However, actually touching my skin was an OMG moment - it hasn't felt that truly soft in years.
NB: I'm pretty sure the box said 'apply liberally' and I have been doing that - I wouldn't want to use my normal amount of moisturiser with this product.
Under make-up (I do use primer as well) it worked as well as pricier moisturisers.
The only other 'negative' is, as far as I can tell, there's no SPF - which would make this a no-go for me over summer, which is a pity because I think that's when it would feel/work best.
If you have read my past reviews on products you will know that I am a a bit of a brand snob - I blame my Dad when I was a teenager he bought my sisters and I Chanel No 5 for Christmas while my Mum was in hospital (she was moritified) and after that I was hooked on quality - the pretty bottle and advertising helps! However I have trialled a number of products lately that I have found to be quite good - products that this brand snob usually aligns to cheap and cheerful. Neutrogena as a brand is definitely in this category for me but to be fair this particular product deserves better than that. So my review is this - packaging is lovely I am a sucker for the visually attractive and blue reminds me of water - yes the hydro boost connatation is not lost on me. I love blue and the calming effect so a winner on that front - the texture of the product is divine - again I am a sucker for gel products, I love how it feels when you put it on your skin. My skin definitely felt hydrated and remained hydrated over 24 hours - I tested this by not cleansing and moisturising at night. I have to admit that my skin felt best when I put my SPF mositureriser over the top and I definitely would not use this as a stand alone product but in conjunction with my normal routine I was pretty impressed! O for awesome Neutrogena
Tips: Use as one step in your maintenance programme - cause lets face it all we are doing is maintaining!
I was lucky enough to be chosen by beauty review to trial this product ( thanks beauty review! ). I expected a lot from this product as it promises a lot, 'doubles skins moisture in 1hr' had me hopeful it would deliver! I have normal to dry skin which lately has been more on the dry side with the change in seasons. I have been using this product for nearly two weeks and I was impressed from the 1st use! I have been using this every night and in the morning when I haven't required an spf moisturiser. The texture is lovely! I love the luxury of the gel formula and it sinks into my skin leaving no sticky or greasy residue( a must! ). My skin definitely feels much more moisturised and seems to be more 'plump' and luminous in appearance. It hasn't caused me to break out like so many new products do for my skin. All in all I really like this product as part of my everyday routine & will be sure to repurchase when I run out!
Tips: Apply a thick layer and leave for 10-20minutes before removing excess with a tissue for a deeply moisturising and luxurious face mask!
Packaging : box and jar are vibrant, very eye catching Product: texture is smooth and smells amazing Test: after reading the box i was a little worried the product wouldn't last (box says apply generously) but i was to find that thought very wrong. the water gel spread so well, i only needed a small amount to cover my face and neck and it was really easy to apply. Right away i noticed a difference my face felt just like i had moisturized, its great if applied right before going out, but i did find that it didn't last the full 24 hours, my skin did start to dry out again after about 4-6 hours, applying more did help. i have noticed with using it my skin is more soft to start of with and then using it makes it better. i just wish it lasted a bit longer. i also have very sensitive skin and was worried i would have issues with it but i didn't which is great
Tips: a little goes a long way so don't start with to much :)
I have been using this everday in the morning for the past week and it has really hydrated my skin. I have sensitive combination skin (more dry at this time of year) and I haven't suffered any breakouts as a result of adding this product to my daily routine. It has moisturised well and I replaced my usual Neutrogena day moisturiser and have noticed a difference in my skin as it seems to really love the water gel and it really does make a difference within an hour! I'm not completely convinced about the progressive release system yet but my skin isn't as dry at the end of the day so perhaps it does work! The only negative comment I have about this is that I don't like the smell - it isn't a bad smell, it is just an odd one. Otherwise I highly recommend.
Tips: Apply to face when dry are a shower to rehydrate fast!
I have combo skin (sigh) so I can suffer from dry cheeks and forehead and then have an oily nose and chin.
This makes finding skin care products that work on all areas of my face a bit of a challenge. Add the seasons in to the mix and somedays I'm just fighting battles to keep my skin evenly moisturised. In the winter my dry patches need more attention and in the Summer my oil prone areas can feel like a slick by midday!
The Neutrogena Water Gel screams luxury - a heavy glass jar, a high quality box. When you open the jar it smells lovely - not overly fragranced, just nice and fresh.
The product itself is less like a gel than I thought it would be and more like a thick lotion (but not quite a cream).
It's easy to apply and readily absorbed into the skin, yay! And yes, my skin did feel really moisturised.
My skin felt really smooth and I really felt my oily patches were more balanced through the day than they had been recently.
However in a really weird way, it didn't leave the same nice feel my usual moisturiser did so while I will continue to use this (and probably buy again) I'm still following up with my regular moisturiser.
All in all this is a nifty little product, the price is about right,
Tips: Try applying a thicker layer like a face mask and allowing it to just sit on your face. Rub the excess in and voila - hydration and smoothness!
I purchased this product after it was first reviewed on Beauty Review by a few Super Hero members. I was very intrigued by the claims of the hyaluronic acid holding the moisture in and keeping the skin super hydrated and thought it might just be what my deeper wrinkles needed - a water plumper wrinkle disguiser.
Initially finding this product in the Supermarket was hard, although it is now readily available and found in many stores that carry beauty and skincare items. So I tracked down this particular product of the range first based on the initial BR reviews. It comes packaged very smartly and does indeed seem much more high end than the price suggests. I was able to purchase it on special for $22.95, RRP is $29.95 at Countdown. The jar of product is a pleasing marine blue with a light metallic blue lid. The gel inside is a light marine blue with a fresh shower water scent reminiscent of that clean soapy water smell. Application of the gel is interesting - the gel is really cold, a little is all that is needed and it spreads very easily. The gel is rapidly absorbed and leaves my skin refreshed, very soft and smooth and definitely feeling plumped up.
I have mature skin with some deeper wrinkles, slight creping and some finer lines. The gel certainly minimises all these defects and the effect is quite noticeable to me. After I had been using the Hydro Boost gel for two weeks, my daughter and another friend remarked that I was looking more relaxed and refreshed. In fact the daughter asked me if I had botoxed my frown lines as I keep saying that I'm going to do one day.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost is the moisturiser I use first thing upon arising - it wakes me up, and plumps up my skin ready for the day. I love that it has a delicate pleasant scent, can be applied even to the eye area without any sensitivity whatsoever and leaves my skin soft and silky but without any leftover residue too. The best thing is that this cheapish gel does more for my wrinkles than any $100 plus serum has ever done and it is now in my bathroom cabinet for good.
I'm onto my second jar and have branched out to the rest if the range, although this particular gel is hands down the star of the whole range.
Tips: The Hydro Boost is best applied at least 20 minutes before applying foundation or other makeup products especially water based makeup products with sponges. It can also be dabbed on over makeup for a quick pick me up plump in the afternoon without it affecting my makeup.
