Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review

I like the jar very much, it is very convienient as it is easy to twist open and close, and it appears very unbreakable so I don't have to worry about it breaking after falling on the floor or something. I like oil free moisturizers as they don't leave my hands with greasy residue after applying, but this gel disppears completely as it probably all got absorbed in my skin, so this gel gets absorbed very fast and easily, totally mess-free application. The scent is average, nothing special or different about it, it doesn't have a really strong smell. The texture feels very creamy and soft, it looks transparent on my face and glides along it very smoothly, and I don't have to worry about accidently applying too much onto my skin and leaving too much grease on ym face as it gets absorbed very well. This product is gentle on skin and it moisturizes but I tried applying foundation after applying the gel thinking that it'd be fine but my skin still flakes.

Upon getting this product the first thing I noticed was that it looked and felt like a high end product - something you would get in a department store rather than the supermarket. The packaging is cute and the product smelled nice and fresh. The product looked like a typical cream but felt like a lightweight non sticky gel. There is definitely a lot of quality put into this product.

I have used the moisturiser for about 5 days and I noticed consistently that my skin would feel dry within perhaps 20 minutes of using the product. The second any make up went on during the trial period you could really see the dryness of my skin compared to how it would normally look. I really wanted to love this product because the first impression is so fantastic but it just wasn't suited to my skin type and didn't really do anything for me.

This product is simple and simple amazing! With water as it's main ingredient it is exactly what it says it is - a water gel. This product is so light and silky that it doesn't leave a greasy feeling after application like some other moisturisers do. It soaks almost instantly into your skin and leaves no residue. Even after 1 hour there is a noticeable improvement on the hydration of the skin. I use this product daily as it has no adverse affects on my sensitive skin like others do. Probably due to the fact that the main ingredient of this product is water! I also apply it before I put on my foundation when I'm getting ready for work. It really helps with the foundation coverage. It also smells great and doesn't have the same generic moisturiser smell to it. I love this product and would definitely buy it again.

I was selected to review this product and also won another 50g as part of a prize pack. The container is really robust and the grey/silver lid easily screws on and off the beautiful translucent blue container. After unscrewing the lid a second lid sits on top of the opening of the container like a plug. I think it's a really great idea to prevent waste and gel leaking out of the lid if dropped or knocked over. The second lid is pastel light blue and has a raised portion to pull the lid off. I found it came off easily the first time but, really acted like plug the next few times. I found it difficult to get the lid off because the raised portion is only about half a centimeter high and is not easy to grip onto or pull upwards when the lid forms a seal.

The actual gel appears to be a blue tinged cream but quickly becomes translucent gel that feels like silk as soon as it's on my skin. It feels amazing to apply and smells fresh. The moisturising gel soaks into my skin really quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft, silky and supple after application. My skin feels hydrated with this product and a little can go a long way.

I have combination skin and am prone to break outs. Compared to my usual moisturiser, Hydro Boost Water Gel doesn't prevent my skin from becoming oily by the end of the day and I have had a bit of a break out since using it. I can't say whether this is due to the product though and I wouldn't have dared to trial it if it wasn't oil free.

Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Water Gel keeps my skin hydrated but, I would use it with caution if you have oily/combination skin, even though it is an oil free product.

My first thought on using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel was, it's going to go a long way, you need very little and it glides on so easily. Nicely scented and not over powering. I have been using it for nearly 2 weeks now and with an 'old' skin of 57 years I like how my skin is feeling/looking. It is obvious with how little you need to use that it will be good value for money. I will continue using this product and recommend to friends.

I have been using this product for one week.

To be honest I haven't seen any huge difference in terms of my skin.

The formula is a light almost watery consistency which spreads well over the face.

The smell isn't too overpowering.

It feels nice on the face and does make your skin feel more soft and supple. I didn't feel like this lastep very long though and I haven't seen any longer term benefits over the course of this week.

I don't think i would buy it again, maybe if it was on sale.

It comes in a eye catching box and the container itself is also very nice, with a glass look to it giving you the impression it is a jar of water. The gel is thick and creamy, yet light weight with a nice fresh scent. The product spreads really well and you only need a small amount to cover your face and neck. My skin felt instantly hydrated as soon as I applied it. It left my skin a feeling fresh and and supple which lasted all day. My skin certainly felt like it had been given a moisture boost as the product suggests.

Having sensitive skin I was a little worried whether I would react to this as I have done with other Neutrogena products, but I absolutely love this particular product and am keen to try the rest of the range. I even got my hubby to try it and his is also a fan, so it was a winner all round in our house.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel product has exceeded my expectations. This just blew me away, it really does add that moisture to the skin and you can feel the difference straight away, using once I jump out of the shower it’s cooling on the skin and doesn’t make the skin feel greasy or oily as have other products I have used similar in the past, this product comes in a jar so you are able to easy access the product and aware when it will be needing replacing . Upon using Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel I was hesitant as most products in this line do not hydrate and just add moister for a short time and you remove your make up and you feel dry this I swear it’s been amazing, my skin has started to feel heaps better and isn’t dry and in the short time I even noticed my spots aren’t dry and flaky as using in conjunction with an acne medication (pills) I also have used this with my foundation over time, and still gives my skin that clearer and healthier glow all day long. I have always hated taking make up off at night, but have had this drummed into me, but with this product redness isn’t there as much, and also not dry and flaky, it’s also great when you are ready to jump into bed it just relaxes the skin (I have realized NEUTROGENA also make in the range other products, I believe these will be equally as good, and cannot wait to add these to my collection. I swear by this product!!! The product doesn’t have that oily moisturizer smell like you find with your other brands, I am not currently aware of the price but for what this product has done already for my skin and how great I am feeling when using this product and I am confident you will love it just as much, it would be worth ever scent. It’s great simple packaging and does what it needs to do, and it is a great blue coloured box so will be easy to pick out on the shelves at beauty stores (supermarkets) because being a gel this product would I suspect be just as good for sensitive skins, and as gel great for people that have oily skin especially but wanting moisturizer without that extra greasy feeling. I would recommend this to a friend NO DOUBT!! I even made the boys in our house try it on, my partner thinks nothing of it, but he is not into products but his mate loved it and was like ooh, ah!! So I would head to the local supermarket or where this product is stocked and pick one up today.

This trial couldn't of come at a better time for me, my skin is dry from the change of season, my nose is red from a cold, my eyes are itchy and dry from hayfever! So a hydration boost is excatly what the doctor ordered! I haven't used much neutrogena before and never ever even heard of a gel instead of a cream so I'm totally excited to get into this beautiful blue jar of hydration gel!

First impressions are good, great package lovely colours and opens easily with a second "lid" To keep the gel safely inside. Smells lovely, a light scent that doesn't overpower you. Now the gel itself is thinner than I expected but feels lovely and it's easy to apply I face an neck like the instructions say and drys fast and doesn't leave your skin oily which I love !! Product says It should be an hour and I'll have double the Moisture in my skin... Well it does feel good so that's great! I trialed this for well over a week and I have to say all those dry patches I had from weather, hayfever, red nose have dramatically improved using this product every night after cleansing. When' my nose was quite sore and red the gel did iratate it so I didn't use it there for a few days.

I'm really happy with this gel. Loved that it wasn't oily and it really did do as it said. Hydration and moisture were achieved by me ;-)

I've used for over a week and haven't even made a dent in the jar so a little goes a long way, which at this price you need it to go far ;-)

First thing I noticed when I received this product was the "High end" look Nutrogena have gone for with the packaging, the ocean blue tub looks amazing although it is quite bulky so wouldn't be ideal for travelling. The product has a pleasantly light and refreshing scent that isn't too strong which I love and the texture is Kind of like a thick watery gel and Its consistency is thin, runny and translucent. Only a small amount is needed and I assume the tub would last a couple of months even being used twice a day so that's a bonus! Because of the texture It glides smoothly over my face and absorbs very quickly leaving my skin feeling velvety, soft and smooth no stickiness at all that I experience with other moisturisers. Im not sure it doubles skin moisture as it claims too, maybe if it was used in conjunction with the other products from this range... I found the dry areas of my face (nose & cheeks) to still be a little flakey BUT I do think I will purchase in the future because it does make my face feel nice and smooth and Ithink is great to wear as a primer before make up :)
