Great for oily skin

The look of this product is on point. Well packaged, sleek and clean look. Great choice of colours for this product, calming and fresh looking. The gel itself has a great mild scent. The gel texture is very different to general moisturizers. Took me a few days to get used to. It is absorbed very quickly without any feeling of over application. Its quite good at making your skin feel smooth & soft to touch. I have unbalanced skin and found it beneficial for the oily parts of my face, not so much for the normal/dry parts. It doesn't offer enough moisture for me, but it's light and fresh for the days my skin is more balanced.

Tips: Light enough to use under foundation, absords so quick you can move on to foundation application without delay.

Your skin needs this!

I have combo skin (sigh) so I can suffer from dry cheeks and forehead and then have an oily nose and chin.

This makes finding skin care products that work on all areas of my face a bit of a challenge. Add the seasons in to the mix and somedays I'm just fighting battles to keep my skin evenly moisturised. In the winter my dry patches need more attention and in the Summer my oil prone areas can feel like a slick by midday!

The Neutrogena Water Gel screams luxury - a heavy glass jar, a high quality box. When you open the jar it smells lovely - not overly fragranced, just nice and fresh.

The product itself is less like a gel than I thought it would be and more like a thick lotion (but not quite a cream).

It's easy to apply and readily absorbed into the skin, yay! And yes, my skin did feel really moisturised.

My skin felt really smooth and I really felt my oily patches were more balanced through the day than they had been recently.

However in a really weird way, it didn't leave the same nice feel my usual moisturiser did so while I will continue to use this (and probably buy again) I'm still following up with my regular moisturiser.

All in all this is a nifty little product, the price is about right,

Tips: Try applying a thicker layer like a face mask and allowing it to just sit on your face. Rub the excess in and voila - hydration and smoothness!

Great if you need a moisture hit

Dehydrated skin is the quickest way to look less than fresh - for an immediate boost to your moisture levels, this product is fantastic. It's definitely something I would have loved in my beauty arsenal in my early twenties (particularly in summer, after a long day at the beach). However, now I'm in my early thirties I'm looking for anti-ageing ingredients in my products, which this doesn't have.

Tips: Pop it in the shower for an invigorating way to rehydrate after a long day in the sun (wearing sunscreen, of course). Rub it in for longer than you would your moisturiser, for the true full impact.

Super Boost!

I was so happy to receive this in my BR Beauty Box and immediately started using it. I wasn't initially sure how to use it as it doesn't really say if it's a straight up moisturiser or a serum or a mask. Thankfully BR Nat gave me some tips on how she used it, so I've now used it as a serum, mask and moisturiser.

I adore the look of this product, the glass jar makes it look and feel super expensive. The gel is cool to the touch and quite slippery. The scent reminds me of soap, which I'm not a huge fan of. But did it double my skin's hydration in one hour? Well, I'm not sure.

Initially I found I had to use a lot of this product on my skin (a grape sized amount) as my skin just soaked it up (my skin is quite dry). If I used a less amount my skin felt dry still. However since using it my t-zone has become oilier and I've had more breakouts (this is the only new product I've added to my regime). So I do wonder if I've been using too much, and if a little amount is all you need as it does in fact double skin's hydration - even if you can't feel it at the initial moment of application? This will take further investigation, however I've ceased using this until my skin clears a bit more. If/when I start using it again I will re-review.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

And I thought my previous skin cream was good? Oh hell no!

Hydroboost water gel is amazing!

I cannot stress how much I love this!

I think my skin may have been dehydrated previous to using this?

The texture is delish, the feel upon applying is cooling, rich but light, pure luxury!

It really does do what it says it does.

I have oily sensitive broken veined skin.

It has been a dream come true for my skin!!

I use it on my face , hands , chest and arms.

After the first use mu skin looked plumped , refreshed and really clear.

It's prefect under makeup. And on it's on.

I made Mum try some on her hands and she went out and brought some as well. She is 54 and I'm 34 she loves it!

The best part, in this summer heat we are having it's cooling and my skin drinks it up.

I will buy again!!

Also the packaging is gorgeous, very inviting!

It is not greasy or heavy at all.

Tips: Apply all over neck, face and chest , don't forget the backs of your hands ;)

For a Hydro Hit

This was an item on BR that I saw the superheroes trialled out, reviews which I really enjoyed reading, and luckily for me, I managed to get to try this thanks to the Beauty Vault. Yay I was so excited, this product just sounded so good.

This product comes in a small blue plastic jar, with a metallic blue plastic lid. I assume the blue theme is to reflect the hydro/ water aspect of this product and I think it does a good job of doing this. My only negative aspect of the design of this is germs. Because the easiest way of using this is with your fingers, this product is likely to get filled with germs pretty quickly. I try to avoid germs whenever possible, especially on my face, so I never use my fingers to get this product out, instead I use a small makeup spatula which works like a charm, and then I use my fingers to spread over my face.

The hydro boost product can be compared to a gel. Well that’s what I would compare it to anyway. It’s a pale blue in colour, and application makes this feel like a gel which is good considering this product is labelled a gel. It smells fresh, light and clean and It feels so refreshing applying this to skin, and it’s easy to spread over your skin as well. This gel doesn’t absorb immediately (takes 3-5 minutes to completely absorb depending on how much I use) so I normally use it as a night cream and let it absorb as I get ready for bed. Once it has absorbed, my skin just feel so smooth and when I wake up in the morning my skin looks hydrated and has a radiant glow to it. Amazing! Especially for my skin which tends to have dry patches.

So would I try it again? I have almost finished my first jar, and im savouring every last bit. My skin loved this gel, and couldn’t get enough of it! However, this product has no long term impact on my skin’s dryness. I literally had to use this every night (and some mornings if I had time) in order for It to have a positive impact on my dry skin. I do like using this product, but at the moment I can’t justify spending $25 on a product that had no long lasting benefits. However, I would consider buying this on special, because I did really like everything else about the product.

I love it!

Lucky lucky me, to nab this in the last Beauty Vault. I had read with interest the previous BR trials, as I had not considered using a gel moisturiser before. I'm so glad I have discovered this, especially in summer!

The best time I've found to apply this is about five minutes after showering and toning. It glides on beautifully, has a lovely fresh fragrance, and sinks in straight away.

The best thing about it, IMO, is that it leaves such a smooth silky base, that it acts like a primer as well. I love that!

More like miracle gel!

I will start off with this stuff is nothing less than amazing to me. I was one of the lucky few to pick this up in the last Beauty Vault. I am almost at the bottom of this pot and going to definitely be buying myself another one. I had a few lovelies suggest using a gel when I noticed my usual moisturiser was starting to make my skin oily as the weather heated up.

The container is a cute little blue pot (to emphasise the 'hydration' aspect). The down side (of all pots) is you need to dip your fingers into the pot to get the gel out. There is a decent amount of gel in the pot, as it is deeper than it seems. I have been using it daily on this big face and I am going almost 2 months before hitting close the bottom (I still have 2 weeks or so left).

I have never used a gel before so I was a bit surprised with the texture (NOTHING like a cream...don't know what I was expecting haha). It absorbs really easily and doesn't leave a greasy feeling that I was getting from my old moisturiser as we were coming into summer. There is a small perfumed smell, but nothing overpowering.

I have combo skin (Oily in my forehead, nose and chin, dry as the sahara everywhere else...) and since I have been using this I have stopped breaking out and my dry patches are gone. It's insane. My skin has now become more normal (Still a slight, but VERY slight, oiliness on my nose, but other than that everywhere else feels so nice to touch). Which brings me to my next point, this stuff makes my skin feel like silk.

UPDATE: Pot lasted me THREE months. I brought a new one last week and I'm still scraping stuff out of the bottom of the old pot. It never ends!!

Tips: A little can go a long way!

my first go at using a gel

I was really excited to receive this product in the beauty vault from a mystery box. I had seen the superheroes at the time trialing this range and I was itching to get my hands on It! I wasn't totally sure when this product was supposed to be used for. I prefer my day creams to have sunscreen in them so I decided to use this at nightime instead.

My first impressions of the jar is that it is a beautiful blue color and the jar just looks luxurious. It definitely doesn't look like a cheap product, it more reminds me of something high end. When you open the pot, you see a light blue substance (which is actually white, the packaging just makes it look blue), and it has a really nice fragrance. It's light and fresh and slightly sweet.

When you look at the gel, it's half opaque white and half see through. I was expecting something like Aloe Vera gel but it just seems like a light cream. I find you only need a really small amount to do your whole face and it absorbs so quickly. I can touch my face 2 minutes Ater I've applied and it isn't sticky at all and just feels soft.

initially I was just using this on its own as a night cream. For the first hour after applying, my skin feels nice but then I find my face starts feeling a bit tight and dry. I do have dry to very dry skin. I decided to start using it as a primer instead before applying some richer face cream after. I've used about half the jar doing it this way and I think it works well for me. I haven't had breakouts from it and is enjoyable to apply in the evenings.

I'm not totally sure if I'll buy this exact product again but I wouldn't mind trying a different product from the same range out. I think this range is probably suited more for oily skin, not skin as dry as mine. So I would recommend to someone with oily skin to give it a go and see if it works out.
