I purchased this product in a bid to curb my acne a few years ago, and was so disappointed with it. It seemed alright at first, but that changed - my skin eventually became irritated and dry as I continued to use it. I had to stop using this product in order to save my skin. Moisturising after would reduce the tightness and dryness, but my face still looked very irritated. I would not recommend this to anyone under any circumstance.

Reviews
I was suffering with pretty consistent pimples, so I thought I'd give this a try. I used it once, with no problems. But by the second use my face had been chemically burnt. It was itchy and rough, with some bumps. Then it progressed into thousands of tiny tiny tiny little oil spots almost, it felt terrible. But I rang them and told them what happened, they happily refunded me $20 when I only paid $13- and sent me a return bag to send the product back to go thru quality control. So my overall experience was awful, but they managed it very well. However I will probably never by another nutrogena product in my life.
Tips: Always check for the warning labels (this one had one tiny warning that said: not suitable for sensitive skin. That was it
I used this cleanser for a few months before I got hooked on to using 'Proactiv'. This cleanser is cheap, smells good but did not work for me. My skin is prone to pimples. After using this, it left me with very dry skin and gave me more pimples! I would not use this again. :(
I recieved a trial tube of this, which lasted about a week. I found the gel to be very thick and blobby, and it had a very superficial feel on my skin. I didnt really feel as though it gave my skin a deep clean, as the bottle says it does. It left my skin feeling rather average, and not very clean. After a weeks use it hadnt helped with pimples/blackheads or oil control. I wouldn't purchase the full bottle after trialing for a week.
I must admit, over the years I have tried good & bad products from Neutrogena, but unfortunately this product was not for me. I have combination skin, dry in areas, normal in areas and oily in others... So it's pretty hard to find products for my skin that helps with all of these problems.
I purchased this product hoping to help with some of the slight skin problems I was having, very dull skin tone and redness with acne. But this was unfortunately one of the worst cleansers I have personally used.
It is very over-drying, it's like it strips the skin of all it's natural oils and leaves it tight, and overly dry begging for some moisture.
This may be best for someone with oily skin, then combination. But definitely won't be re-buying or recommending.
Far too harsh for skin. It leaves my skin feeling very dry and tight, and I immediately have to apply moisturiser lest I feel like I'm going to crack. I feel like it ruins the top layer of my skin. It doesn't leave any lasting damage it just feels uncomfortable. I have dry skin, so it might be more better suited for someone with extremely oily skin already.
I have a combination skin and was battling some breakouts. I found this wash way too drying on my skin. Around my nose the skin was flaking. I ended up throwing it away.
I didnt find this helped me at all, I never felt clean faced after I used the product and it didnt help clear my skin it actually made it worse but that just may be the effect it had on me.
Firstly, this dried out my skin way too much. In the first use, my skin felt tight, then horribly dry, which I just tried to correct with my normal facial moisturiser. I thought if I just keep it moist it would counter that. I wish I had of stopped there! The second time I used this, I woke up the next day with what I can only describe as hives all over my face and neck - I was extreamly swollen, red, dry, and it stung like Sunburn. If anything, it reminded me of a chemical burn. I have no allergies, my skin has never reacted to any product before, nor do I have sensitive skin, needless to say I am not happy. After this, I looked online for reviews, too many people complained of the exact same reactions, so I am not even sure why this product is being sold. The company reply with "This is not a typical reaction", well from all the reviews I have read, there are more bad reactions than good! It has taken 5 days for the swelling to go down, my skin now feels like it is recovering from a chemical burn, it looks terrible. No creams worked on it, I took antihistamines which I had to go out to buy because I have never had reactions to anything, so nothing was in the cupboards - but it done nothing, I just had to ride it out. I understand this might work for some, but the majority is too negative. Please do not use this, I would hate for others to suffer like this.
Tips: If you notice the dryness, stop using it!
I used this and it felt like my face was burning and very tight. I followed the directions and used very little, then around my nose, lips and chin started to burn. Now I have flaky very dry, ultra sensitive, irritated skin that makeup wont cover :(
Tips: Do a test before you put it all over your face
