I have used this on and off over the past couple of years (yes, it might have past its best before date but I didnt realise they had them until reading it on BR!). I certainly can help with a breakout but if you do not have super oily skin it will be very drying. I think my skin is drying out as I get older and so I am noticing that this face wash is now drying out my skin to the point where it is so tight it feels like its going to split :( No amount of night cream can sooth it either. Hence, I will not be using it anymore, but I did find that it would stop a breakout in its tracks, and does leave my skin feeling deep clean.

Tips: Only use if you have oily skin. If your skin is not oily, def find an alternative to fight those breakouts. Also, i wouldn't recommend using it daily, even if your skin is oily. Maybe combine using this with a natural product every other day?
I used this cleanser when I had quite bad skin - to be fair it did really clear up my skin quite fast.
The only downside was that it made my skin SO dry - my skin was constantly flaking off - even when I moisturised all throughout the day.
It did not look or feel nice at all!
Unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I didn't find this cleanser particuarly drying- if you use a really good moisturiser afterwards, flakiness should be kept to a minimum. However, it doesn't really do much in the way of clearing up acne. I think it is overpriced.
I used this product for over a month and it made my mainly normal skin (but I get a few spots), pretty oily and really stuck to the surface of the skin.
Tips: Wash off throughly
I though this would be a great cleanser for my face, but after a few uses my skin was worse than it already was. I was warned about neutrogena but I wasn't convinced that it was such a bad product. It didn't work like it said it was, it leave my skin dry and itchy, and I have massive breakouts which I thought wasn't this products fault
Tips: Please read carefully bfeore buying
Am very prone to acne but found that this product did work but made my skin soooo dry! Have since moved on to oil based products which are more suited to my skin type. Worth a try tho
I'm prone to hormonal acne flare-ups, so I'm always looking for a good cleanser. I washed with Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash for about a month and found that while my skin stayed relatively clear, it also became drier. The wash also did not prevent the cystic kind of acne caused by hormonal fluctuations. I'm back to using milder cleansers, along with a Vitamin A derivative (Retin-A).
Tips: This may work for you if your skin tends towards the oily side.
I found this cleanser at the supermarket and decided to give it a go as it said that helps prevent breakouts and is soothing to skin. I found that it really dried out my skin even though I was using a moisturizer with it and that it didn't really prevent break outs. It was nice for cleaning my face as it lathered well and smelt okay but ended up disappointing me.
Tips: I think it didn't work for me due to my very sensitive skin, give it a try because we all have different skin types.
i got this as i thought syliactic acid would prevent my breakouts but i found it made my skin extremely dry (i usually have combo-oily skin) and made my face feel uncomfortably tight after use. I wouldn't use this face wash again.
It's taken me ages to get around to writing this review, because I honestly couldn't think of what to say apart from average, average, average.
There is nothing that stands out about this product to me at all. It says it helps acne but I saw no great changes. Sure it gave my skin a bit of a clean, which wasnt too heavy and didn't over dry it, but thats about it.
I could have forgiven this product for its sheer averageness if it had some other defining feature that I liked (or even disliked!) but frankly there are so many other cleanser options out there even within the same price range that would be better suited or do a better job.
