Oasis Sun SPF 50 Ultra Protection Sunscreen Review

I brought a 100ml tube of Oasis Sun SPF 50 Ultra Protection Sunscreen. I was very excited to try as it is a SPF 50+ for face and body and non-greasy.

To dispense, open the flip top cap and squeeze out the sunscreen.

The instructions on the tube say to apply liberally. So, I did. And had instant regret. The consistency is thick and VERY, VERY White in colour. Upon applying the sunscreen it rubbed too nowhere. It really didn't absorb into my skin and then I was left with a white coating everywhere that I applied. Almost like I had put zinc on.

I had to laugh as the experience reminded me of the Friend's episode when Ross brought a pair of Leather pants. Things turn to custard when he overheated in the pants, took them off in the bathroom and couldn't get the pants back on. So used powder and then moisturiser to assist.......... what a white mess.

That's what I feel like when using this sunscreen. A white mess.

I tried again on a different day with less sunscreen and had the same result.

I picked this up in the Oasis flash sale for $5! Awesome deal. It comes in a 90ml squeezy tube with a screw on cap, I would definitely prefer a flip top lid but that's just my preference. It is a 50 spf and suitable for face, body, pregnant women and children.  So that all sounded great to me.

It doesn't really have a strong sunscreen smell which is awesome because I hate the smell of sunscreen.  Consistency wise it is pretty thick,  I already knew before I applied it that I was going to be able to feel it on my skin.

I squirted out a generous amount and applied it to my arms and legs, it made them turn white lol while I fussed about trying to rub it in....but I got there in the end. It definitely leaves a white sheen on my skin and I can feel it sitting.  I definitely would not apply this to my face! I would imagine it would feel horrible and I would break out something crazy. I am not even going to attempt that.

I did however find I did not get burnt so that is a big tick from me. I know it's a sunscreen and the whole purpose is protecting you from the sun but I just can't get past how thick it is and how it feels. I would not purchase it again as there are other sunscreens out there that I prefer, but I'm glad I got to try this out to see if I liked it.

managed to grab some of this in a sale just before xmas.. a bunch of products came up that needed to be used just before summer ended and so picked this up for $5 a tube which is very reasonable. I have purchased and use many of their items and this was another great buy.

It really works. So I would repurchase especially if I managed to pick up on sale again. We do use a lot of this so rip through a tube. Its not like the skinnies we usually also buy.

Its very telling where you have applied it and is hard to rub in. In a way thats a good thing seeing where its at and if your have missed a spot but also my kids look like ghosts so it takes a bit of effort to rub in and tends to build up in the hairline. Ultimately i don't mind as it was cheap and does the job.

I do find if I use it I get a bit of build-up and have to cleanse 2x, but not the worst thing in the world for sun protection.

this sunscreen is great. i use it on my shoulders at the moment because theyre always in the sun and i want to protect my already very damaged skin.

this stuff is THICK. like. thicc. 2 c's haha. very hard to spread but we get there in the end. you can tell its on because it changes your skin tone from skin to skin but with a very white sheen haha.

smells alright, dont hate the smell. well thats a lie i do, i hate using sunblock because of the smell. but this isnt so bad.

does not wash off easily!!! my lord. still have a white sheen the next day no matter how hard i scrub. it is VERY water resistant. i dont know what sorcery oasis are doing but im yet to be burned anywhere wearing this bad boy. will 100% be buying it again!

Was excited to pick this up in the recent flash sale on their website for $5. Especially since I've not tried this product but more so with the intense heat this summer.

Recently redesigned packaging. 90ml stand up tube that is yellow and bright. Lots of pros listed on the front: face and body, suitable for pregnant women and children, sensitive skin and water resistant.

White sunscreen lotion, typical consistency. Sunscreen scent. Leaves a serious white cast on my skin. It's like this sits on the skin and is not absorbed into it. Sinks into all skin creases/wrinkles and doesn't look good. Feels like a film on the skin.

I only used this on my body, not face. I really dislike this. Yes, I think it being a sunscreen it does its job and I have not burned at all while using it. However, can't get past the white cast and dry feeling on my skin. I won't be repurchasing.

Please note: have not tested its water resistant claim so can't review it on that point, though I think it would be a good product for protection in the water.

This sunscreen may be great for protecting my skin again damaging UV rays but I will not be using it again. This is very thick and not easy to spread, it feels oily and sits on my face and I would not even use it on my body. It doesn't absorb well and I just really really dislike the feel.

This sunscreen is great on paper - NZ Made, lots of natural ingredients, SPF 50 and great for sensitive skin. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. When applied, it was thick, white and difficult to absorb. Even after rubbing a small amount into my skin, it left a white/grey coating on my skin. I don't have sensitive skin so I can't comment on this factor, but this may be a big bonus for those who prefer a natural, sensitive skin friendly product over 'cosmetic' features such as smell and easy absorption.

This sunscreen is an absolute must for my family. Some of us have sensitive skin that react to some sunscreens- this one is gentle and lovely and never irritated our skin.

I love the focus on natural ingredients. The less nasty ingredients the better.

The packaging is the distinctive orange tube, it stands out and just reminds me of summer. Also easy to find, which is a plus!

I’ve been recommending this to friends and family. It’s just a great quality product that protects your skin from the summer sun. I use it on my five year old girl and 3 year old boy, as well as the adults!

I also think it’s just a great New Zealand company. The skincare products are so great for sensitive skin.
