Below Average.

I got this as I was looking for an affordable daily moisturiser with an SPF in it. I'm not a big fan of Nivea in general, but I thought I would give this a go.

First of all, I hate the scent. I'm not sure what it is that Nivea puts in their products to scent them but I wish they would stop. If you like the smell of Nivea products then this won't bothered you, but I can't stand it.

This does hydrate your skin and I love that it has a good SPF in it but the scent makes me dread using this. I also didn't like that this left a greasy feeling on my skin - it was as though my dry skin couldn't absorb the cream and so it sits on my skin rather than getting into it.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this and definitely won't be buying it again. I dislike it so much that I am giving the rest of this away as I won't use it - even on my legs.

Nivea Daily Essentials Light Day Cream

I was gifted this by a friend along the matching cream cleanser. I have a problem with my brother using my skincare so I put this in the cupboard for us to share. So far the the things I like about this is it's scent, price and spf factor and it's not a very greasy moisturizer. It is a thick cream but it absorbs into your skin decently. The scent is Nivea's signature scent. It comes in a sturdy jar which is good but I personally would prefer a pump. Looking at the ingredients it doesn't have a lot of good for your skin ingredients listed on the back of the jar just the active spf ingredients. I typically like to apply my spf moisturizer all over my face and around my eyes, I do this with my Apple a Day on a daily basis with no irritation whatsoever. However when apply this around my eyes it stings, makes my eyes water until I wash it off, if I even have this high on my cheeks my eyes seem to be slightly irritated about it or have traces of it on my finger when I apply another product to my eye area, my eyes don't like that either. Now it does say to avoid eye area so it's my fault if my eyes sting as a result. Personally if there's nothing else available it's an okay option but I won't apply it without a good serum or facial oil underneath since this is just spf. I'm happy to have this in the bathroom for my brother to use since he doesn't have an spf moisturizer but once this is used up I wouldn't buy this.

Tips: Take the "avoid around eyes warning" seriously because your eyes will water and sting if this gets near them.

Not great for my skin

I had high hopes for this but I had a major allergic reaction to it. It smelled overly perfumey when I opened it but it was a nice rich creamy feel. I put it on and within 10 minutes my skin was searing hot and I had broken out in hive-like rash. I was then crazy itchy. Will not be using again.

Does what it says

I managed to grab a sample size of this product online and arrived in the mail a week later. I did like the small pottle, Which I still have and use now and then on my face. It is quite thick and heavy and rather smears onto skin, I dont like the thick cream and it doesnt have a scent to it, but it did moisturise skin.

Wasn't too impressed

I purchased this along with some other nivea products. I got this one because it said it was good for oily/combination skin which is what I have. It also has SPF in it which is always good in a product. When I tried it out, I wasn't too impressed with it. It felt very oily to me and left my skin looking shiny. It wasn't good because for a product that is meant to be for oily skin, it seemed to make my skin oiler. Applying make up over this wasn't great too. It would slide around and wouldn't last.

Would be good for really dry skin

I bought this because I wanted a moisturiser and a sunscreen in one. It is good for moisturising but leaves my skin feeling and looking oily. It runs in well with no white residue. I wouldn’t recommend if you have normal to oily skin.

Tips: Apply to a freshly cleansed face

Gave me zits

I first purchased this when Nivea still had the old packaging last year, and it was shaped like a hand cream bottle. I fell in love with it. It always left my face feeling so soft, and made my skin look more hydrated. So I rushed out to repurchase this, only to find the packaging and the formula had changed. Now that it is in a little pottle, the cream feels much richer and whenever I apply it I am left with a shiny and greasy oily face, and my skin breaks out every time. I gave it to my mother to try(she too had previously tried the old formula) and the same thing happened to her skin. So disappointing.

Tips: It works as a really good moisturizer for elbows and knees.

Nivea

A nice hard container. 50 mils of rich nivea cream contains a SPF. I was expecting a we bit more from this product, being nivea. It's an attractive box it comes in. It has an expirey date. The cream is a nice white with a soft texture quite creamy, a strong nearly soapy fragrance a little floral note to it, I find the smell overbearing not pleasant at all and it lingered. The cream soaks in quick and doesn't leave me feeling sticky. I only used this for a week and it's just not enough for my skin, so off to a girlfriend it went. I found I didn't feel moisturised at all, I found I was going back for more. My skin felt a little tingly with it. Not for me.

Pretty average

This is a fairly light day moisturiser that smells of sunblock. I really don’t like the way it smells and it feels greasy before it has fully dried. Once it’s dried it’s fine, just a little tacky.

Oily Essentials

I purchased this cream along with the night cream when my skin was going through a oily, spotty phase. I wanted something light and protective, and this caught my eye especially with the SPF factor. The packaging is really nice with the white glass bottle- looks fancy. The texture is quite thick but goes a long way- not a lot is needed for face application which is good as it will last and it is super affordable. On application the cream soaks nicely into the skin leaving it feeling soft and not greasy at all, the scent is fresh and has hint on sunblock smell (to be expected). It didn't leave my skin shiny and it left my skin feeling lightly mouisturised throughout the day. It didn't interfere with powder application or CC cream over top. It worked as a nice base. This cream worked well for me when I had oily skin, after using it (with the night cream) for a few weeks my skin was no longer oily and my spots had diminished. Unfortunately when my skin got back to its normal self I began to develop very dry skin and dry patches on my face- that is when I went back to Cetaphil during the day. However I will use this again probably in the winter when I tend to get oily skin.

Tips: I would recommend this to people with oily skin and it works nicely in conjunction with the Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream.
