The product is pretty good for it's price, but it's more of a moisturizer than a cleansing lotion because I personally have dry skin and it has been feeling a lot better. But when you remove makeup with it, you kinda have to really rub it to get the makeup off.

This cleanser comes in a simple plastic white bottle with the Nivea logo and details in blue. It's not fancy, but it is functional and inoffensive. A pump would be the easiest way to dispense the product, but it isn't difficult to squeeze it out, just a little messy occasionally, due to the consistency.
The product itself is a fairly runny white lotion that has the distinctive Nivea scent - slightly baby powdery/sunscreeny. While I really like it, it is quite strong, so if you are sensitive to scented products, particularly on your face, you may want to steer clear of this.
Because the lotion is quite runny, it's easy to overestimate how much you will need. I only use about a $2 size amount, which is plenty for my whole face. It feels really nice to massage into my skin after a long day, and the whole experience is quite relaxing. I do find that it's not a product I can just swipe quickly over my face and then rinse; it does need a bit of working into the skin to start cleansing.
Like the name says, this feels very refreshing. It almost has a slight cooling sensation (not irritating) when applied.
Probably my favourite thing about this cleanser is that it can be rinsed off with water. It doesn't exactly 'emulsify' in a visible way, but it does seem to break down and rinse away easily, which is a nice change to having to use a cloth as with a lot of cream-type cleansers.
Once rinsed, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft, not greasy or dried out like a lot of cleansers leave it. I haven't experienced any breakouts or irritation as a result of using this. It really is gentle on my skin, which is lovely.
However. As much as I like this cleanser generally, I can't give it a super high rating, because it really falls short on one of its claims. Although it removes light makeup, such as powder and light concealer, it really seems to be too gentle for more heavy-duty/long lasting makeup. It just doesn't effectively cleanse products such as my MAC Pro Longwear concealer, and as for my waterproof mascara? It barely budges, no matter how much I try. On top of that, I wore a red lippie the other night, and this left me with quite a noticeable stain after cleansing.
So, if you're looking for a gentle, hydrating cleanser to remove minimal, light makeup, then I would highly recommend this. However, as a general all-in-one makeup cleanser, I don't think it's very effective, so I personally won't be repurchasing once this runs out.
Tips: Gently massage this all over your dry skin, and then rinse with lukewarm water to remove. If you're not having success with this as a makeup remover, it's worth trying out as a gentle morning cleanser!
I used to use this product and it was almost too soft to remove all makeup. but on the plus side it left my skin feeling soft and refreshed!
This product is gentle and refreshing and feels very nice on your skin but does not do such a great job at removing makeup. You have to use quite a bit and scrub fairly hard to remove eye makeup. I would use it before bed to refresh my face but not for makeup removal.
For a supermarket product that is affordable it is good to have on hand for legs and bigger parts of the body. It's average for me because it doesn't do an outstanding job of moisturizing my skin but it does take away some dryness without irritating it. It's a good generic moisturizer and cleanser but not my staple product. It promises to remove makeup and waterproof mascara. I have used it for both and yes it removes basic makeup but not mascara. I have never really liked the smell of Nivea anything so the smell on my skin is a big turn off for me. So based on all that I find it mediocre.
Tips: Great for a generic cleanser and moisturizer but not makeup remover
Nivea’s an old family favourite brand that I remember mum using . I recal trying a moisturiser from them and loving it .
This comes in a white bottle with labelling. Consistency is creamy smells like soft musk . On application I’m able to remove most of my make up except my liquid liner .
Overall I think it’s priced fairly. Would be a great starting cleanser for a teenager that’s starting out with skincare . I can see myself buying it again for my daughter.
I was gifted this by a friend. At the time I was concerned with my younger brother using all my expensive skincare so I put this in the bathroom for us to share. I use this in the morning and it does a nice, gentle job of cleansing my face. That being said it's not outstanding but for a cheap cleanser and those on a budget it's an okay option. It leaves my skin feeling clean and slightly moisturized after using it. The scent is the neutral signature Nivea scent, it takes me back to when I was younger and using Nivea cream and products since I didn't know a lot and was very basic about my skincare. I haven't had any allergic reactions to this and it's been really gentle. I think this is a good cheap cream cleanser if you're just starting out on a skincare routine.
Tips: Good to have in the bathroom as a cheaper cream cleanser if you have friends and family using your stuff. Also a good option for someone starting out on a skincare routine.
I'm a fan of Nivea products, they are good quality and have a wide array of products that make your skin feel lovely at an affordable price. Therefore, I was very excited to try this cleanser and I was actually looking forward to cleansing my face at the end of the day! (That's the first time I've said that!)
The packaging is distinctly Nivea, simple and no-fuss with a tall bottle and a cap to dispense the product. The packaging suits it's simple and affordable product. It's so handy that this cleanser can be brought from the supermarket, with your weekly shopping.
As I open the packaging the first thing I think of is that the smell of this cleanser is devine, I will never tire of this classic Nivea smell! It smells so refreshing and calming. It has to one of my favourite smells for cleansers that's for sure.
The cleanser in itself is lotion-like, creamy, and the colour of milk. I use this by dispensing some into my hand and in circular motions I massage and distribute it over my face, to cleanse the foundation and makeup of my face. I then use water to remove the cleanser and wash my face clean.
The positive about this cleanser is it's so incredibly gentle, there's no tight feeling or eye stinging as I cleanse my face. After cleansing my skin feels so hydrated and so silky soft.
So, although it states its for normal skins, it's also great for dry, sensitive skins as well. My skin can be reactive to some products, but no irritation at all with this.
However, on the downside this formula doesn't seem to cleanse my face very well...possibly it's too gentle? It struggled to take off my mascara and eye makeup - this makeup didn't seem to budge at all using this cleanser, even after several attempts of cleansing. So, if you are like me and wear mascara/eye makeup everyday , you will have to use a separate eye makeup remover in conjunction with this.
Overall, it's a nice and gentle cleanser, but I probably wouldn't repurchase it in the future, as it doesn't tick all the boxes that I look for in a cleanser.
At the end of the day, when I'm ready to take off my makeup, I expect my cleanser to cleanse my face thoroughly and effectively, including removing my eye makeup. (Ideally, I want to use one product that just takes it all off, not a combination of a cleanser and also eye makeup remover). Therefore, I was rather disappointed the Nivea Daily Essentials lotion didn't really do the job I expected it to in cleansing my face.
Unfortunately, this isn't the cleanser for me, so I will be continuing in my search to find my holy grail cleanser!
Tips: This cleanser is probably suited to those of you who wear minimal makeup, as it doesn't do a good job of cleansing off long wearing foundation, or any eye makeup.
I found this product a bit too moisturizing for a cleanser. I have quite breakout-prone skin and so need a cleanser that sits in between moisturizing and drying, and I found this cleanser was more moisturizing. This would be great if you had dry skin, but not combination or oily skin. I used it in the shower in the morning so never tried it for removing makeup so not sure how good it would be on that front.
Tips: Would be good for someone with dry skin
For a supermarket product i think it does an okay job. I am used to using the 'bigger named brands' products, but would happily use this when my other face wash has run out and havent had a chance to get a new bottle. Really like the price:)
