I'm not a huge fan of this lip balm. I prefer baby lips. I wasn't really disappointed when I lost my stick of this product. It made my lips dry so I had to keep using it but it did provide moisture for a few hours at a time.

This "lip care" let me down. I thought I'd try it out because I liked the idea of having a pearly glow while taking care of my lips. Nope! There was a pearly shine, but it was the kind of chalky shine that I used to experience when messing around with $2 shop glosses etc when I was 8! And it really didn't do anything for my dry lips. If anything it made them worse, and with the chalkyness of the texture once dry, I was not a happy camper.
I had really high hopes for this one as I really am an old school Nivea fan (body and face Moisturisers /lip butter) and with the added bonus of pearl and shine I thought I would love this. Unfortunately this wasn’t a product I would buy again. I really don’t like having chapped lips it’s a major pet peeve for me – I run early mornings with my dog so out in the weather then especially over winter I have been in my car blasting the heat and then into an air conditioned office for the day so they take a bit of temperature change in a day and they are already on the dry side so I need something with really good hydration. I love the compact pink packaging, great size to chuck in your handbag. Unfortunately that’s about all I loved about this product. The Nivea lip care pearl and shine slicked over my lips it was very smooth and it did leave my lips with a nice pinky pearly shine but that’s about it. It didn’t hydrate my lips at all or fight any dryness and only lasted sort of half an hour before I felt like I would need to apply this again. By the end of the day my lips felt worse off than when I started, I need something that penetrates a bit more and provides a bit more hydration. Unfortunately for me this didn’t really do what it said it would do was a bit more of a gloss then a chapstick I think. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend.
Unfortunately I have the same problem with this lip balm as I do the Nivea 'soft rose' balm - the product is a blue toned very pale pink with a silvery white pearl cast which completely blots out my natural lip colour and gives me whitish pale dead looking lips. It is bearable over a lipliner but it gives me a very Naomi Campbell 90s dark liner pale pearl lip look which I am not very fond of. Also the formula itself is not moisturising and it seems to just sit on top of my lip and not sink in at all. I also find the pearl particles slightly gritty and rather irritating. There is no shine to this balm it is very matte finished. There is also a very chemical plastic-y taste. May work better for cooler toned people but I can't see it being very flattering on anyone to be honest. Overall this balm is not the one for me and I prefer others in the range.
This is a tricky one.... I absolutely love the smell of this product! The packaging is also incredibly cute and it feels nice when first put on, but it dies out straight away! I find myself constantly having to re-aply it to keep my lips moisturised. It also melts really easily. Its not like I put my makeup in an oven or anything, but during sumer when it is in my handbag, it melts and gets stuck to the lid or mushes everywhere.
I normally love Nivea products but not this. I am prone to dryness and cracks in my lips so I am always on the look out for products that provide my lips with great moisture and a hint of colour.
The lipbalm is a stick which comes in a cute twist tube. Simply pulled the first part of and twist up the lip balm.
The texture felt quite smooth and guided on my lips nicely. Once applied however it felt very drying on my lips the colour looked rather frosty on which further emphasised the dryness of my lips and it looked rather unflattering.
I will not repurchase this again.
I really don't like this product. It leaves your lips with an ugly pearly metallic look to it and looks a bit crusty. Also, it's not very moisturising either, plus it smells gross. The texture is too dry. Would not recommend.
As far as the pearl goes it definitely gives your lip a wee sparkle, but on my skin tone (olive) it makes my lips look pasty. Re the moisterisor side; it feels nice at first but then I found my lips were dry as afterward! It’s like it make them even dryer! Is this possible??
I bought this by accident (the accident was that I didnt realise it was pearly!)
Firstly, Nivea lip balms have such a great feel and texture. I really love them over say, a Chapstick.
I honestly didn't like the pearl, though. It made my lips look pale, and no one needs pale lips. Sure, they were sparkly close up, but if you are not getting into someones personal space then they will just do a double take at your face!
I am a huge NIVEA fan and adore almost all of the NIVEA products that I have tried, however, this lip balm is not one of them.
The lip balm is smooth and feels nice but the pearly colour slick, well, just isn't flattering! For some reason it just didn't seem to want to stay on my pout in an even and flattering manner - it just looked a bit patchy and awful.
Tips: If this balm does not suit you, do try other NIVEA lip balms - some are just fab! I particularly recommend NIVEA's cherry balm!
