After years of using Nivea Lip Balm, this has to be by far the worst one yet. Dont get me wrong, it smells amazing! However, whenever I applied it, It felt as if my lips were being dried out, not "caring" for them at all, espically if ones lips were already dry, this lip balm makes those small imperfections stand out immediatly! The pearly shine also does not look appealing

I like NIVEA as a brand but unfortunately, this just does not cut it. It leaves a crusty layer on my lips , especially on the corners of my mouth and it difficult to apply. Will be looking for better products out there.
This was the first Nivea lip balm that I used and I was quite disappointed. Since trying other products from their range this one has definitely become a let down. It moisturizes the lips when first applied, however some of their products do this better. It also has a super shimmering finish, which makes it a bit slippery and causes it to easily come off. The shimmer is too chunky and it leaves a weird feel and look to your lips, not very comfortable for daily wear. Overall I won't purchase this product again, I didn't even finish it the first time I tried it and just threw it out. So save your money and spend it on a decent lip balm.
Tips: Nivea repair and protection is my favorite lip balm from the brand and my favorite all time lip balm.
I found myself having to reapply this lip balm too often as it didn't feel nourishing after around an hour. The pearly shimmery colour didn't suit my complexion so I stopped using it after a day.
I found this lip balm very unmoisturising but I did love the beautiful pink shine it gave. You have to reapply many times during the day and your lips still feel dry.
I admit - the pearly shine claims sucked me in, and I was looking for an affordably priced lip balm to keep in the car, so I picked this up... and decided very quickly that despite the claims and the price, it wasn't for me.
The balm looked terrible on my lips. The colour wasn't right, and I probably ought to have thought through 'pearly shine' a bit more. Shine, yes, I love shine. Pearly? Turns out it's not for me.
As for moisturising, it was okay. Not great. Certainly not mind blowing. I'll stick to Carmex.
I had really high hopes for this one as I really am an old school Nivea fan (body and face Moisturisers /lip butter) and with the added bonus of pearl and shine I thought I would love this. Unfortunately this wasn’t a product I would buy again. I really don’t like having chapped lips it’s a major pet peeve for me – I run early mornings with my dog so out in the weather then especially over winter I have been in my car blasting the heat and then into an air conditioned office for the day so they take a bit of temperature change in a day and they are already on the dry side so I need something with really good hydration. I love the compact pink packaging, great size to chuck in your handbag. Unfortunately that’s about all I loved about this product. The Nivea lip care pearl and shine slicked over my lips it was very smooth and it did leave my lips with a nice pinky pearly shine but that’s about it. It didn’t hydrate my lips at all or fight any dryness and only lasted sort of half an hour before I felt like I would need to apply this again. By the end of the day my lips felt worse off than when I started, I need something that penetrates a bit more and provides a bit more hydration. Unfortunately for me this didn’t really do what it said it would do was a bit more of a gloss then a chapstick I think. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend.
Unfortunately I have the same problem with this lip balm as I do the Nivea 'soft rose' balm - the product is a blue toned very pale pink with a silvery white pearl cast which completely blots out my natural lip colour and gives me whitish pale dead looking lips. It is bearable over a lipliner but it gives me a very Naomi Campbell 90s dark liner pale pearl lip look which I am not very fond of. Also the formula itself is not moisturising and it seems to just sit on top of my lip and not sink in at all. I also find the pearl particles slightly gritty and rather irritating. There is no shine to this balm it is very matte finished. There is also a very chemical plastic-y taste. May work better for cooler toned people but I can't see it being very flattering on anyone to be honest. Overall this balm is not the one for me and I prefer others in the range.
This is a tricky one.... I absolutely love the smell of this product! The packaging is also incredibly cute and it feels nice when first put on, but it dies out straight away! I find myself constantly having to re-aply it to keep my lips moisturised. It also melts really easily. Its not like I put my makeup in an oven or anything, but during sumer when it is in my handbag, it melts and gets stuck to the lid or mushes everywhere.
This lip balm leaves your lips quite light pink and pearly and makes me look dull. I prefer lip balms with no colour. Aside from that its a good moisturising lip balm if you're after a bit of colour.
