As far as the pearl goes it definitely gives your lip a wee sparkle, but on my skin tone (olive) it makes my lips look pasty. Re the moisterisor side; it feels nice at first but then I found my lips were dry as afterward! It’s like it make them even dryer! Is this possible??

This used to be my go to lip balm a while a go. I would wear it if I had sore lips or if I wanted to add a bit of color. It wasn't the best at repairing my lips but it did look good. Its really affordable and lasts for quite a long time. To me its got quite a chemically taste to it if you accidentally get some on your teeth. I personally think that there are better lip balms out there
I like the subtle colour/pearly shine, and I do find the Nivea chapsticks to be of more use than, say, Baby Lips. When my lips are really in trouble I won’t reach for this product, though. It’s sort of great for a bit of gloss and shine, but won’t soothe proper chapped lips.
my god, just seeing this tube brings back awful memories!! i remember using it religiously as a teen and my god i regret it!!
i always hated the lid as it always fell off in my bag and the lippy would be covered in god knows what because a teenagers bag is a mystery.
the color that came off was a pinky creamy sheen and knowing me i liked to layer on nice and thick. nasty gal. it didnt last long, it didnt taste nice, it wasnt moisturizing and frankly i just did not like it. i definitely would not repurchase haha not even for a trip down memory land!
Was super disappointed with this Nivea lip care product after really enjoying some of there other products. The colour was far more white than I expected, the product cakes onto your lips and exaggerates any lines or cracks in them making your lips looks worst unless they are in immaculate condition already. I didn't find that it improved my lip condition at all. I ended up using this as a shimmer on top of other products which wasn't what I bought it for. I wouldn't bother buying it again.
I have been a fan of this Pearly Shine lip balm for over 2 decades now. I have recently purchased this after remembering how much I loved it and had struggled to find it in the past. It was almost instant nostalgia! Except with a new twist, the scent! Originally (And I'm talking 1999/2000) this must have had a very subtle, creamy scent. Now it's kind of like a strawberry scent which I feel is an added bonus! It definitely gives my very dark pink lips a lovely light pink pearly shine. Only negative I will mention is that I'm not sure if I would use this if I had sore or very dry lips. Plus the stick is so big, it's a little awkward to use and the lid sometimes slips off.
I admit - the pearly shine claims sucked me in, and I was looking for an affordably priced lip balm to keep in the car, so I picked this up... and decided very quickly that despite the claims and the price, it wasn't for me.
The balm looked terrible on my lips. The colour wasn't right, and I probably ought to have thought through 'pearly shine' a bit more. Shine, yes, I love shine. Pearly? Turns out it's not for me.
As for moisturising, it was okay. Not great. Certainly not mind blowing. I'll stick to Carmex.
A friend gave this to me as she knows I am constantly losing lip balms. I hadn't tried these before and thought the packaging (with its cute baby pink tube), looked pretty.
This smells really nice - kind of sweet but it isn't overpowering. The scent didn't last that long on my lips so that shouldn't be an issue if scents are something you dislike in lip balms.
Be warned though, that this lip balm has shimmer in it. I didn't realise until I had applied it. Personally I can't stand shimmer on my lips - this is just a personal preference for myself, although it can look amazing on other people.
The shimmer, however, isn't like glitter - it looks more like crushed pearls. The sheen is very frosty and pearl like - so if you like that look then you'll probably really like this. However, I really, really dislike that so this isn't a product I would ever purchase or reuse.
I'm usually a big fan of Nivea lip products, but this one just isn't for me.
I really like two things: the scent and the packaging. It smells sweet and sugary without being too overpowering, and the tube is handy, sturdy and cute (gotta love pink packaging). However, that is basically where my love for this lip balm ends...
First off, unlike the other Nivea balms I have tried, this is not particularly moisturising. It definitely doesn't leave my lips "irresistably smooth" or soft, and I find it slightly waxy to apply.
Second, I *hate* how the colour looks on me. It's a very pale pink, which looks really nice in the tube. However, the "pearly shimmer" is no exaggeration - it's super frosty when applied, and looks almost white-pink in some lights. Overall, it just is not a flattering shade or finish on me (~NC15 skintone).
So, I won't be repurchasing this and I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they are a big fan of the frosty lipstick look.
Tips: If you're wanting a good tinted balm, I'd definitely recommend any of the Nivea Fruity Shine lipbalms over this one - they are moisturising, glossy, and nicely pigmented. xx
A lip balm that has a slight pearly shimmer to it. It was fairly moisturizing but not as much as others that I've tried. Was kind of expecting more shine from this.
