This was the first Nivea lip balm that I used and I was quite disappointed. Since trying other products from their range this one has definitely become a let down. It moisturizes the lips when first applied, however some of their products do this better. It also has a super shimmering finish, which makes it a bit slippery and causes it to easily come off. The shimmer is too chunky and it leaves a weird feel and look to your lips, not very comfortable for daily wear. Overall I won't purchase this product again, I didn't even finish it the first time I tried it and just threw it out. So save your money and spend it on a decent lip balm.

Tips: Nivea repair and protection is my favorite lip balm from the brand and my favorite all time lip balm.
I found myself having to reapply this lip balm too often as it didn't feel nourishing after around an hour. The pearly shimmery colour didn't suit my complexion so I stopped using it after a day.
I found this lip balm very unmoisturising but I did love the beautiful pink shine it gave. You have to reapply many times during the day and your lips still feel dry.
I admit - the pearly shine claims sucked me in, and I was looking for an affordably priced lip balm to keep in the car, so I picked this up... and decided very quickly that despite the claims and the price, it wasn't for me.
The balm looked terrible on my lips. The colour wasn't right, and I probably ought to have thought through 'pearly shine' a bit more. Shine, yes, I love shine. Pearly? Turns out it's not for me.
As for moisturising, it was okay. Not great. Certainly not mind blowing. I'll stick to Carmex.
A friend gave this to me as she knows I am constantly losing lip balms. I hadn't tried these before and thought the packaging (with its cute baby pink tube), looked pretty.
This smells really nice - kind of sweet but it isn't overpowering. The scent didn't last that long on my lips so that shouldn't be an issue if scents are something you dislike in lip balms.
Be warned though, that this lip balm has shimmer in it. I didn't realise until I had applied it. Personally I can't stand shimmer on my lips - this is just a personal preference for myself, although it can look amazing on other people.
The shimmer, however, isn't like glitter - it looks more like crushed pearls. The sheen is very frosty and pearl like - so if you like that look then you'll probably really like this. However, I really, really dislike that so this isn't a product I would ever purchase or reuse.
I'm usually a big fan of Nivea lip products, but this one just isn't for me.
I really like two things: the scent and the packaging. It smells sweet and sugary without being too overpowering, and the tube is handy, sturdy and cute (gotta love pink packaging). However, that is basically where my love for this lip balm ends...
First off, unlike the other Nivea balms I have tried, this is not particularly moisturising. It definitely doesn't leave my lips "irresistably smooth" or soft, and I find it slightly waxy to apply.
Second, I *hate* how the colour looks on me. It's a very pale pink, which looks really nice in the tube. However, the "pearly shimmer" is no exaggeration - it's super frosty when applied, and looks almost white-pink in some lights. Overall, it just is not a flattering shade or finish on me (~NC15 skintone).
So, I won't be repurchasing this and I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they are a big fan of the frosty lipstick look.
Tips: If you're wanting a good tinted balm, I'd definitely recommend any of the Nivea Fruity Shine lipbalms over this one - they are moisturising, glossy, and nicely pigmented. xx
Personally I think this is not a great lip balm in terms of moisturising and hydrating your lips. I found it did smooth out my chapped lips and make them softer, but it doesn't last very long at all. It doesn't prevent my lips from dryness as within about an hour my lips would feel dry again.
Application - this lip balm was easy to use and glided over my lips smoothly with ease. The formula of the lip balm is very soft and creamy. However, I did find that because it was very soft, it was prone to melting quite fast if left in a warm spot or in the sun.
Packaging - the tube the lip balm is in is almost like a lipstick tube. You have a long lid that pulls off like a case then you twist the tube to pop the lip balm up. I found the tube really easy to use and the lip balm smoothly rises up and down as you twist it. There's none of the twisting up and the lip balm getting stuck so you end up forcing the lip balm back down business.
Colour - I did however like the colour and tint if this lip balm. It gives you lips a nice light pink sheen. The finish is frosty and shiny and defiantly has a pearly shimmer. However, I did find that if I had really dry and chapped lips the pearly colour didn't fill right into the cracks in my lips and just emphasised them more.
Smell - I always find nivea lip balms have quite sting scents, and this one is no different. The smell is quite sweet smelling a bit like lollies.
Would I purchase again - probably not. This lip balm didn't give my lips long lasting hydration and I think you can get better lip balms for the same price
Tips: This lip balm is good as a lip tint to add a pearly shimmer, but not a good lip moisturiser. So I suggest if you want hydration and the shimmer, use this lip balm on top of another lip balm that will give your lips hydration.
It smells great, it lasts a fairly long time on your lips and the packaging is nice but that is about as far as it goes for me. There is so much light pearly shimmer in this product and it definately did not do me any favours. Did not match my skin tone and wearing this in public would have been slightly embarrassing.
Tips: If you don't like shimmery lips, go for the plain one as the formula is great and is long wearing.
I was caught by the packaging - looked really cute and handy to have it at the supermarket checkout
For me, I found it didn't glide on my lips that well - like it 'clumped' up at the cupids bow and the outer corners. As someone mentioned before, I felt it didn't feel like it moisturised my lips but I did get a glossy effect. I also found with my lip colour (more of a purple tone) it didn't look that good on my lips - I would need a lipstick underneath
I like NIVEA as a brand but unfortunately, this just does not cut it. It leaves a crusty layer on my lips , especially on the corners of my mouth and it difficult to apply. Will be looking for better products out there.
