Simple everyday moisturiser

This came in a pack of Nivea Pure and Natural skincare that I picked up for a steal. I have the 'soothing' one. First up, the scent of this is similar to the other products in the range - a nice, fresh, natural sort of smell. The packaging is a glass jar with a plastic lid, which makes it feel more expensive than it is. I'm not too bothered about the jar packaging - I always wash my hands before touching the product and I close it tightly after use. I do like that it's easier to see when you need a replacement also.

I have actually been using this as a night cream rather than a day cream, in combination with rosehip oil. I mix the two together (two pea sized amounts usually) and smooth it all over my face and neck.

It has quite a thick texture, but it absorbs easily into my skin, which is prone to dryness in the winter. I would not use this in summer as a day cream, as it's a bit too thick and does not have spf. However as a night cream it is really good! My skin feels soft when I wake up and I have not had any breakouts while using it. It's cheap and lasts ages so I will definitely buy from the Nivea family for my next night cream.

Average Moisturing Cream

You can't go wrong with the price. Easy to buy from any supermarket.

It comes in a jar with a plastic lid. I don't like the packaging as it is not very hygienic. The product has a fresh, natural smell similar to the other products in the Pure & Natural range.

It has a creamy thick texture and feels very hydrating on my face. It does a good job moisturising my skin, leaving it looking healthy and feeling soft. The only let down is it does not contain SPF, which is what I look for in a Day Cream.

Soothing & hydrating

The cream is soothing & calming to the skin, personally I found it a little too thick for a daytime moisturiser, but would easily replace a night time cream. Incredibly hydrating which was what I was needing (this would be fab in the winter months). Great value, for a great product.

Tips: Make sure your muscles are working for removing the foil seal, just a bit tough going getting that off in a hurry.

NIVEA Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream

I loved the smell of the product from the moment that I opened the jar. It has a nice, fresh & pleasant smell which is not overwhelming.

It absorbed into my skin easily without leaving a greasy appearance despite the use of the oils in the product. I have combination skin which either becomes painfully dry or breaks out in acne. This is one of the only natural products that I have used which manages to moisturise my skin and does so without feeling too heavy.

Tips: While the cream is a day time moisturiser, I found it worked quite well when I applied it before bed.

As far as natural products go, this is one of the best that I have tried. The reasonable price tag makes it even more palatable

Nivea Pure & Natural - day

There are 2 things that I look for in any product; 1. Is the product tested on animals 2. Does this have active ingredients or vitamins.

1. I could not determine either way if Nivea is tested on animals. Their parent company Beirsdorf says it does not test which is excellent but I could not confirm this through PETA

2. Yes it has vitamin E

To be fair I use Dermalogica exclusively at home so it takes a lot to impress me! I did like this product and if I could confirm it is cruelty free I would consider buying as part of my travel kit.

The moisturizer smells beautiful, it's a very soft smell but it's beautiful and the perfume did not irritate my skin which can be easily irritated. I actually found myself looking forward to using the cream.

The product itself is rich and creamy, it has a nice texture and after a few mins goes completly matt which makes it great for using under makeup.

I found the cream hydrating and it did keep my skin supple which helped with fine lines.

Tips: Use on the backs of your hands and then apply SPF. Use as a makeup base, allow 15 mins to dry.

Good to see that you're going to the effort of checking whether it's animal tested. Good on you.

A decent, fairly priced moisturiser

I really like this moisturiser, it soaks into the skin quickly, leaving it smooth and hydrated. My foundation always went on perfectly over top.

Basic Cream

Let’s get back to basics. A cold cream without perfume, greasiness or fanfare. I use this cream to give my skin a break. I wish it had a spf rating but again that’s more chemicals and this cream is all about moisture.

NIVEA pure and natural

This product feels amazing going on your skin, its so silky and smooth and goes on nicely. Did however make my nose a bit oily which was disappointing, but it did clear up the dry skin i had around my forehead area (Yay!!) Overall a very good product and i will continue to use it.

Tips: Great if you have sunburn!!! So soothing!

Nivea Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream

This moisturising day cream goes on nicely but seems to take a while to absorb into the skin but in saying that it is not a negative just feels different to other moisturisers I have used. It tended to give my face a matt look when it was eventually absorbed therefore my face didn't have a nice healthy glow. I do like the packaging I feel that a jar is easier to use and also there is no waste because you can get every last bit of cream from the bottom of the jar. This makes it good value for money.

Mixed impressions

Firstly, I love that Nivea are starting to bring out more natural products. I'm a big fan of anything natural or organic, so I was really excited to try this out. However, it just really didn't work for me. It felt velvety and nice to put on, but overall it was just too thick and heavy for my skin and caused me to break out and get oily during the day. It would probably be fantastic for someone with really dry skin, though - I ended up using it as a night cream on any dry areas of my skin and it worked like a charm. It's just a bit too heavy for a day cream unless you really need the moisture. Smelled lovely, as most Nivea products do, and I liked the packaging and little glass container it came in. Overall, I liked it a lot but it really just didn't do great things for my skin when used as directed.

Tips: A little goes a long way - and it's even more effective when used as a night cream.
