This is a lovely lip balm for no makeup days, or no lipstick days. It gives a subtle red tint to the lips, making them look healthier and more vibrant, but still 100% fresh and natural. This is perfect for when I don't have lipstick on, but still want a little something. After an hour, it simply fades away, it doesn't go patchy or leave a line of residue.
I do not reach for this product when I want hydration. No, it doesn't dry out the lips, but it doesn't really hydrate them either. It is certainly not a treatment, or for those needing a boost of moisture. Therefore, I purely use it when I am wanting a tint, or hint, of colour.
The packaging is standard $5.99 Nivea. Nothing special, nothing fancy, and the lid will probably fall of in your handbag. But what more can be expected for the price? If you are wanting something incredibly subtle for a no makeup or no lipstick day, this is perfect. It would also be great for a teen or pre-teen who is wanting to wear lipstick, as it does give a tiny tint without actually being makeup.
Like the reviewer below me, I too started using the Strawberry Nivea Lip Balm as a pre-teen and loved it, but the formula has drastically changed since then, and I no longer love it like I used too. The packaging is very basic and simplistic, and looks quite cheap; it reminds me of a store brand lip balm. The lip balm had a sweet strawberry scent when I purchased it but now that it is a few months old the smell has deteriorated and it smells more like Playdough. The lip balm moisturizes and hydrates my lips well. It leaves a subtle hint of colour on my lips with a gold shimmer which looks nice. The lip balm has no taste to it. The lip balm is quite affordable, and I would purchase it again, if I was running low on cash. However, this isn't amazing, and I'd rather purchase a nicer lip balm with my money.
