I bought this sunscreen on holiday when I just needed a small amount of SPF 50+ sunscreen for my face. I was also keen to test if this Shine Control cream with Mattifying Effect and 0% Sticky Feeling was actually that different from my regular NIVEA SPF50+ sunscreen. The Shine Control cream promises the same UVA and UVB protection as the regular NIVEA sunscreen, and I think it definitely works well. One thing to note is that this version of the cream is not water resistant, however, most people do not spend a lot of time with their faces in the water. I have to say that I do not find this cream any less sticky or greasy than regular NIVEA sunscreen. I was expecting something that felt like a regular day cream, but to me this cream feels like a normal sunscreen. It is hard to say if it really looks more matt than a regular sunscreen, but I cannot see a very obvious difference. Overall, I think that this is a good sunscreen, but I do not think it is worth buying it in addition to another sunscreen as a nicer option for the face. However, I find that the regular NIVEA sunscreen I use is not very sticky anyway, and I happily use it on my face, so it would have been hard to beat that.

Use this sunscreen every day in summer on my face and find it really mattifying. My skin doesn't feel oily or sticky and it doesn't seem to give me a breakout, which most other sunscreens do. Also I love the smell because it reminds me a summer and the beach (probably just the smell of all sunscreen though).
Tips: Probably only use on the face as the amount you get is quite small for using on the whole body.
I use this every morning after my skincare, before makeup. It doesn't leave a white cast and gives you a nice glow. It's really good value. It feels really moisturising, more like a moisturiser consistency than a sunscreen.
Tips: Use religiously every morning, about a teaspoon for the face and neck. Leave 20-30 minutes before putting on makeup.
Love this sunscreen. I have really sensitive skin and prone to breakouts, plus I hate the normal texture of sunscreen, it usually makes my skin feel so oily and gross. But this sunscreen feels so light on my skin while still giving great sun protection. Kinda just feels like an everyday moisturiser and doesn’t make me breakout! Good price too
Tips: Probably wouldn’t wear it too long out in the water e.g surfing, because it can rub off pretty easily
This is hands down the best I have ever used for my face!!! I done a lot of research before buying as soon it’s such an affordable price, I was unsure how well it would preform. I alway use serums and moisturiser on the morning, followed by the sunscreen and then makeup. It dry well. On top of my serums perfectly. It drys well and is a perfect base for my foundation! I have read some people complain because it smells like sunscreen… but what do you expect? It’s great. I found my new forever sunscreen!
Tips: I wait 5minutes after applying it, before I put my foundation for n. It’s good to give it time to dry
This sunblock is not too greasy (great for my oily t zone) and has a lovely scent. It goes on nicely too. I keep a bottle on my desk at work so I can reapply when I need to.
I’ve been using this product for years, both during the day and as a moisturiser in the evening. It’s hydrating but light enough that it doesn’t block my pores or feel greasy.
Tips: To get the full sun protection benefit, it’s recommended to reapply regularly during the day.
I use this both in summer and in winter on the snow. Full sunny day on Mt Ruapehu requires about 4 applications of sunscreen throughout the day. And yet my face never felt greasy or clogged when using this. And most importantly, I didn’t get burnt. Great price point too!
I love this sunscreen because it does what it says and does not leave you with that oily finish that many other brands do. It is lightweight and looks good under makeup I highly recommend as also great for sensitive skin.
