Reviews
I purchased a 2-piece gift pack from Chemist Warehouse as I wanted a night moisteriser. I had never even heard of retinol or what it is good for, but after using it and finally doing a bit of research, I can say I am converted! I have been using this, along with the serum and eye cream for a couple of months now - not always every night, but at least 3-4 nights per week. My skin is so much softer, you wake up and it is still soft. You only need a pea-sized amount - the product goes far. I went to a beauty therapist and she said this is a good product of the shelf too.
Tips: Upon researching (and speaking to my beauty therapist) you may find when you first use this, your skin to breakout (mine didn't thankfully), but it will improve and if you have had regular breakouts before using this, it may actually help improve your skin!
Grab it in a 2-piece gift pack - you basically will get one of the products free and also discounted from the price you'll pay for one of these moisturisers on the shelf.
I thought I would give this a go since I saw it on special. Felt fine the first time I used it but on day 2 I noticed a few areas on my face that felt irritated/ dry / patchy.
Tips: Spot test if possible on sensitive area
I first brought this in sample size from chemist warehouse and it converted me to how wonderful Olay is.
Retinol can be a tricky beast, so this was nice simple way to start. I use this two to three times a week it goes on smoothly and absorbed well no strong fragrance. I experienced no adverse side effects that retinol can give.
Immediately and the next day my skin felt the softest it ever has and I repurchased it in full size
Tips: Start once or twice a week to build your tolerance to retinol
I’ve been using this for a fairly short time but am not new to Retinol. It comes in the traditional Olay jar and has a similar texture to the other Olay night creams but is more cream like than gel like. I have been using this over the Olay Hyaluronic acid serum and while they seem to work well together I feel like my skin needs something heavier at night. I would say this would be ideal as a starter retinol as it’s easy to apply and can be used with other (non retinol) serums but if you’re extremely dry or are a seasoned retinol user then this may not be the night cream for you.
Tips: Remember to only use this at night as UV rays break retinol down and always use a facial sunscreen so you don’t get burnt. Using retinol makes you more susceptible to sun damage (I learnt this the hard way)
This product was my first retinol based product. I wanted to take it easy and I heard this was an effective product for first time users of retinol. It was a really soft thick cream that was great used as a night cream. I had no irritation and my skin would always feel so soft in the morning. Would recommend for beginners to retinol. I need something stronger now.
I read lots of reviews of this products and wanted to try this for the hype. But yes must say it is worth the Hype. From the first application your skin feels soft and smooth. Apply at night after washing your face and gives you plumped and soft skin. Does it really works on fine line? Will have yo give it some more time and confirm. Overall a must try.
Tips: Pro Tip : Please check stores online for the cheapest price available as it differs in all the drugstores and if you are lucky would get it a $20 off aswell.
Almost imminently after application my skin is left very silky smooth! Haven’t had this before with any of my creams. I love the texture of the product, not to heavy and is fragrance free! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good night cream that does the job and leaves you with great skin overnight.
Tips: The time to invest in your skin with retinol is now, whether you’re a youngin or not - retinol prevents wrinkles and has many benefits to the skin.
I had the pleasure of trialing the Olay Regenerist Retinol 24night moisturiser. The packaging is pleasant on the eye, I actually really like the colour blue they have used for the package and the jar. The cream itself doesn’t have a strong smell like many other products, it’s quite a mild fragrance not overpowering. The texture is very smooth and silky, and feels silky on the skin. Immediately my skin felt like it had taken a huge drink, it felt silky and hydrated, I’d even venture to say it felt plumper. My dark areas are slightly faded, and I hope will continue to fade with continued use. My skin feels smoother as well. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this product, as I usually react to the fragrance but I really like this moisturiser and will definitely keep using. I’ve also noticed I don’t have dry patches that I’ve acquired recently so major bonus!
I have often-reactive skin that's also very dry, and this is a lovely night cream for me. (I already have retinol in my weekly routine, but other ingredients can easily trigger my sensitivity, and this cream doesn't cause me any issues at all.) The texture is really beautiful - it's rich and hydrating but with no oily, fatty sort of feel to it. It melts into my skin but leaves a satin-like finish that feels moisturising and comfortable. I apply it over a serum (also Olay, btw!) and wake up with calm, comfortable, hydrated skin. Love it.
Long-term, I think it's supporting and nourishing my skin. I'm not sure that it's noticeably smoothed out my wrinkles or faded my sun damage, but my skin does look happier and healthier and maybe even a little plumped with on-going use. That's a pretty great outcome from a cream, imho.
What I don't love is the jar. I know it's an iconic Olay thing, but I'd give it a whole extra star if it was in an hygienic and ingredient-protecting pump bottle.
Overall though, for me this is a lovely product packed with proven ingredients for improving skin texture, hydration and appearance - and without nasties like fragrance to mess with sensitive skin types. I'll happily buy it again and have already recommended it to someone.
Tips: For very dry skin, like mine, use it over the top of a good serum. For oilier skins, it's likely rich enough on its own.
