I gave this a go for a few nights, it felt so soothing when i first applied it and it didn't really sting or irritate my face which was a suprise as i have sensitive skin. It did make my face super sensitive to the sun - my fault as i was out in the garden but if you are extra cautious this is a very nice retinol that seems to be tolerated quite well even for someone with sensitive skin.

Tips: Wear SPF, avoid being in the sun for long periods, wear a hat! I would suggest as your skin gets used to it it will be okay to go in the sun with the right protection :)
I love this stuff!
The fact the applicator delivers the right amount is great (if have probably used a lot more each time without it!).
It absorbs in without lots of rubbing. You can't feel it 'sitting' on your skin afterwards. It doesnt really have a smell. But the best bit is how my skins feels the following morning - smooth, soft and moisterised.
I've noticed a huge improvement in the texture of my skin - it's been less oily and I've had no breakouts while using it.
I'll definitely be buying this going forward and will probably also try the death of the range - hoping the eye cream can work the same wonders on my dark circles!
Tips: Trust the amount the applicator gives out - it might not look a lot but it goes a long way
This unfragranced very lightweight night serum comes in a nifty bottle that is drawn up into the applicator when you unscrew the lid giving you the correct small amount of serum. A little does go a long way and it absorbs instantly into your cleansed skin. I felt I could have used more if not for the applicator as I can be a little heavy handed with lotions at times so this is perfect for me to get the correct dosage. I have been using for a month now and after a few breakouts (which I think were more hormonal than anything), I haven't noticed my pores are smaller or that my wrinkles/fine lines have visibly reduced as it claims to do however I am really impressed with how beautifully smooth and brighter my skin is. In fact each night after using, I have to stop myself from continuously rubbing my skin as it feels so lovely. I will definitely purchase this again, as at around $40 it is a good buy for a night serum.
Tips: Make sure you do use an spf face cream during the day as retinol products can make your skin sensitive.
The serum is in the form of a white liquid that's easily spread and quickly absorbed. Not sticky, it works well under moisturiser and makeup.
I love the glass bottle, it has clever self-refill dropper: hygienic and would probably help to preserve the quality of the serum.
I don't need to use much, about pea size to cover face and neck. Another option is dotting tiny blobs on my face straight from the end of the dropper before spreading the serum allover my face and neck.
I've never used retinol so I followed the directions from Beauty Review: patch test for 12 hours, then using it once in the first week. The second week I used it twice a week. The third week I tried using it every other day but my skin felt too tingly, so I reduced it to into once every 3 days. This week my skin could tolerate using it every other day, and doesn't feel tingly anymore.
I was a bit nervous using it to start with, in case I get redness/peeling/dryness. Thankfully I didn't get those reactions, probably because I took the time to introduce the retinol to my skin. The first few times I used it my skin felt a tad tingly, like a mild itch, especially on my neck. The feeling disappeared after a while. I think the key is to apply less instead of too much.
I wasn't sure if it would give me much benefits. However, I was pleasantly surprised when after 4 weeks I noticed that a big blob of dark spot on my cheek is looking much lighter. Haven't seen any improvements yet on my fine lines, smoothness, nor brightness. I wondered if it's because I haven't been using it daily. I tried using it daily the other day but found my skin got too tingly so I think every other day works for me for now. Will be applying it daily as recommended on the packaging in a few weeks time, as I'm impressed by the improvement on that said dark spot.
Thank you, Beauty Review, for introducing me to this! Would recommend this serum, as long as it's introduced to the skin slowly, especially if you have sensitive skin like me.
Tips: Use moisturiser after the serum so it's not feeling too tingly.
ALWAYS use sunscreen in the morning after using retinol the night before.
This is a great designed lid, pump the top and you get exactly the right amount to apply for your face. I tried this over a three week period, taking extra days between applications for the first week. I did not have any reaction, so then used it every night. I can see a slight difference, but early days, so will continue to use this from now on. This is fragrance free which I really like on a night product. It goes on nicely, and no streaks, or leftover product on your hands after. My face feels nice and silky, not sticky after applying.
Tips: I apply to my forehead, and then rub all over for good coverage, love the application lid, for the exact amount each time
I usually hate any types of facial moisturizers or serums as they tend to make my skin oily or leave some sort of residue that doesn't feel right, so I was pleasantly surprised by this serum. You can immediately feel the smoothness of the product as you apply it and sinks right into your skin. Didnt make my skin feeI oily in any way. I was worried that my skin would not react well to the retinol as I consider my skin go be pretty sensitive but after doing a patch test and trying a few days per week. I didn't have any sort of reaction to it and eased into 5 nights a week of using it. My skin feels smooth and I've noticed my pores have reduced quite a bit since I started use. I would definitely use this product again.
The first time I pout this on I couldn't stop touching my face, it was SO soft. I have an 11 week old and I feel in these 11 weeks I've ages at least 10 years so was super excited to try this. To be fair it's too soon to see if my wrinkles have decreased BUT I have noticed my skin is more bright (considering I'm running on empty) and my bags definatly have reduced. I'm excited to see some long term results.
Tips: 110% wear sunblock the next day. I went for a walk on an overcast day and felt like a got some sun on my face!
I enjoyed using this night serum - it has no scent, a really nice (not sticky) texture, and it's more moisturising than I thought it might be! I have combination, slightly sensitive skin, and I didn't have any issues using this product - I should say I introduced it slowly, every other night for a while, before going full-time. While not drastic, after a few weeks use I feel like I can see some results, with some of my darker spots appearing lighter, and an improved texture to my skin. So far I'm enjoying this serum, and would definitely consider repurchasing it!
Tips: Please make sure you wear SPF during the day when using this (or any other retinol) product!
I have used a lot of products containing retinol or retinoids in the past, so I was excited to try this new serum. One of the main concerns with any retinol is the tolerability. I am happy to say that I did not experience any side-effects, discomfort or skin sensitivity at any point. The product comes in a container with a screw cap and dropper. The serum is milky white, fragrance-free (nice!) and non-oily. It absorbs instantly and I found it to be hydrating and quite soothing. I used it under a night moisturizer, but on occasion, I forgot to add a moisturizer and my skin still felt hydrated enough. I cannot say that there was a noticeable improvement in pigmentation or pore size, but my skin feels hydrated and it does look a little brighter. I like the combination of retinoid and Vitamin B3 and I will definitely purchase this product again in the future. Happy to recommend to others because it ticks all the boxes: Hydrating, brightening, firming, affordable and tolerable. Thanks Olay.
Tips: If you start out using a retinol product for the first time, take it slow and do not use every night until you know that your skin can tolerate the product without sensitivity. Use sunscreen during the day and use the product only at night.
When I use this religiously as part of my night time skin routine 3-4 times a week I notice a difference - hydrated/plumper skin, even complexion, plus there’s so many more good benefits in the long term! (eg. wrinkles)
Tips: If you’re not willing to pay this price upfront because you’re unsure if it’s worth it; try the face mask/sheet version. It contains exactly what’s in the bottle and is much cheaper which is perfect if you’re wanting to try it once first - but trust me you’ll be able to feel/see the difference after once use.
