This product is a thick cremy texture and feels good on the skin. It's too early to say whether my wrinkles will diminish but Olay Total Effects Moisturer definitely moisturises. I didn't notice any minimizing of the pores, in fact I got a few more pimples in the first week of use - so maybe it was clearing up my skill. Will give it a bit longer to see if there is any noticeable difference with my skin.

I loved the look of the packaging and the pump action. It says to apply liberally, but I found that a little goes a long way, so although you need to apply liberally you really do not need to use very much.
Does it do what it says it will, not in my opinion. I have always loved Olay products, but this was a huge disappointment. It made no difference to my fine lines and wrinkles, or my skin tone. I also noticed no difference whatsoever to any age spots. It does moisture your skin and according to my husband, my skin now shines, but it does not minimise the appearance of pores. All in all I would not buy this again as I think it is extremely expensive for what it does. Any moisturiser would probably work just as well at a fraction of the price.
Tips: If you do decide to use this product, although it says to apply liberally, take care not to pump out too much, as a little goes a long way
I was very excited to be able to review Olay Total Effects Moisture Day Cream and put aside my usual daily moisturizer and used Olay instead.
It has been two weeks and I have found that my skin isn't as moisturized - it has gone dry and a little flaky on the lower mouth/chin/jaw area and doesn't seem to absorb into my skin well. I use moisturizer as a base before putting on my foundation and make up and with Olay not absorbing I find that my foundation doesn't go on as well either - it could be that the Olay moisturizer is forming a barrier for the foundation to sit on top of rather than penetrating my skin.
In regards to fighting the 7 signs of aging - it may well be doing that but I haven't found my fine lines/wrinkles to be minimized but maybe that takes a little longer and it is helping keeping other signs of aging at bay that I can't identify.
Over all, as a substitute if I run out of my usual routine I would use it but likely wouldn't rush out to replace my current products with Olay Total Effects Moisturiser Day Cream.
Tips: Great little pump container which was handy when travelling. The light scent is nice and not overpowering but familiar to Olay products.
I was lucky enough to be picked for this trial just as I arrived home from a five week trip that involved 10 flights and at least four different climates! So perfect timing, with my skin needing to settle back into a routine.
This comes in a pump pack, the plastic bottle having a golden glow to it which I also wished to achieve. The directions say to apply liberally and the pump does dispense a very generous amount. Not quite a full pump is more than enough for my face, neck and importantly, décolletage. This is actually the part of me that is showing the most signs of ageing which became even more than evident when I was out enjoying the sunshine whilst I was away.
The directions say to use this twice a day which I completely disagree with. No one needs SPF at night and any used during the day needs to be properly cleansed off to avoid breakouts. This does contain a good level of SPF as it smells like sunscreen when you apply it, with another fragrance added to it. Personally I find the smell a little strong.
The lotion is quite thick and white when first applied but does sink in when left for a few minutes without rubbing in. Even when absorbed it does feel quite sticky. I was worried about using my BB cream over top because of this but the BB actually toned the stickiness down and it stayed put all day.
During the two weeks I have trialled this, my skin has felt plumped and moisturised. I think it is too soon to tell if is fighting the seven signs of ageing - I've not noticed a difference to fine lines or wrinkles but the freckles I got on holiday have faded. I'm reserving my judgement on whether I would use this again until I've given it long enough to see the full effects. It certainly works as a good all round moisturiser for the price.
Tips: Only use during the day! SPF needs to be thoroughly cleansed off at night to avoid break outs.
the packageing is pleasing. The pump bottle is easy to hold and pumps in an even motion. the contents were a smooth cream which held its shape when pumped out.It has a very slight but pleasant smell. I used the product 2x every day.It applied smootly and absorbed into the skin without leaveing a residue. my skin felt smooth and not at all dry. It didnot reduce the small lines on my face at all. It didnot reduce the appearance of the age spot on my cheek.my skin does not feel too dry so it has nourished it. I did not have a pore problem so not sure how this would affect them.I think my skin is a little more radiant. Overall it was pleasant to use but no different to lots of other products out there.
I was looking forward to trialing this product. First impressions, nice packaging. Easy to use pump bottle and Smells amazing. I found the product thick and creamy and smoothed over my skin easily. After the first 3 days of use I found it dried my skin out around my forehead and checks but continued to use and it soon clear up. Not sure if it was my skin adjusting to a new product or not. It's a great base for foundation, I did worry that because of its thick creamy texture it may not work well with my foundation but if I left it to absorb for 5 minutes before applying foundation it was lovely. My skin has started to feel softer. I personally feel it's to early to tell if it's helping with my signs of aging. I will continue to use this product to give it a fair trial and look forward to seein if it lives up to its claims.
I actually really like this cream. I liked the convenience of a pump which you could easily control the delivery of the amount of cream you want. It was also great that it was SPF15. My skin has felt soft and I love the way it doesn't make your face gel greasy after you have applied it. My daughter also commented on how nice it smelt.
Tips: A little goes a long way
I started using "Oil of Ulan" about 30 years ago and know the brand as a reputable stayer in the market. I had not used Olay Total Effects 7 products before. This is the day cream. I have seen it at the supermarket but think it rather pricey so was great to trial the full size product. I started using it, as directed on the box and bottle - twice a day. But found I was having breakouts especially around the decolltage area so cut back to once a day. Being a "day cream" I would have thought this would be the correct usage anyway, as you would then use a night cream application at night. I thought later I should have taken a photo of my face before and after ......will have to remember for any upcoming trials! But I do think the product delivered on all seven "signs of ageing". In particular dryness - I did have a couple of dry spots on my face....dry and almost itchy. And now they are neither. A do have quite large pores on my nose and Total Effects has had the effect of reducing them when applied. It has reduced the colour of spots (age spots? am I that old?) I had also. When using under a foundation, I did find I got quite shiney with the extra moisture...I do have a more oily T zone. All in all, I do like the product and will continue using this sample to the end to fully gauge if I think I would get my monies worth. I use one squirt each application.
Tips: Just use once a day as a day cream.
The moisturiser comes with a pump applicator which delivers just the correct amount for each application, I found this great . The cream smooths on easily and is soon absorbed into the skin and makes foundation easy to apply . After using it for 10 days I feel my skin might be smoother and softer but I haven't used it long enough to see if fine lines, pores, and age spots have reduced as is suggested on the package. My 68 year old face has enjoyed the cream and as the package suggests I feel it has revived my tired looking skin giving a healthy fresh radiance.Great coming with the SPF of 15 and a nice subtle soft fragrance .
Tips: 1 press on the pump was sufficient cream for my needs.
I really didn't notice any improvements to my signs of aging to be honest, so am not impressed with this moisturizer and would never pay for it.
It leaves a sticky, greasy feeling until it eventually soaks in - this takes a while which I don't have the time to wait for in the mornings. So in the end, to test this product, I would remove my makeup when I got home from work and apply it after cleansing. I also left it on overnight, not rinsing before bed.
It also made me break out with large pimples all over my cheeks, which I have never had before with any product or hormones. I usually get them around my chin/nose/forehead because of my oily t-zone. I'm also on doxicycline for acne so I shouldn't have gotten any pimples.
