Comes in a tube and like that the ingredients are natural. For me it was oily and I found that I needed to keep reapplying. I prefer something that's a bit thicker or with beeswax.

I'm not really a fan of this lip balm. It is quite expensive for a lip balm and is not very hydrating for me. It also has a weird smell which I am not a fan of. I also don't really like the squeezy tube applicator. However I do like like how they are all natural and made in New Zealand. In conclusion this lip balm didn't work for me.
I was looking for a lip balm that is natural and goes on well with application. I've noticed olive products every time I go into my pharmacy. This one time I decided to try a lip balm. I wanted to try this because it's natural and made in New Zealand.
This lip balm comes in a 10 ml tube. Its a olive green packaging with olive branding on it. The packaging is squeezed to get the product out of it. The tip of it is slanted with a small hole in it to get the product out. The consistency of it is like a balm. It had a very mild olive oil scent to it.
On application it's very oily and greasy. You need to use it often to keep your lips moist and hydrated. I really didn't notice any changes in hydration with this lip balm. I think it is highly priced. I think maybe they need to change the formula of it somehow or maybe I got a bad batch.
This product didn't really work for me. My lips didn't seem to absorb the balm, even when I tried to rub it into my lips, and despite frequent applications it had no effect on my severely dry and peeling lips. Might be better for someone whose lips are not already chapped, just to stop them from getting chapped. Its a shame, because all of Oive's other (face) products that I've used have been great! Otherwise, the texture and flavour were nice - a hint of olive scent but not overwhelming, and I did not find it to be particularly greasy - certainly not as sticky as vaseline
I inherited this product from my mum she was allergic to it so I tried it (and I am rather allergy prone) and I should have just left it as I ended up with sore red cracked lips and tingling feeling patches reminiscent of the feeling you get from coldsores. The texture of this is not unlike other Natural/organic brands - the waxes are suspended in the natural oils but when the climate gets cooler the waxes ball up into the oils and they feel very grainy when applied. The texture is quite oily too so keep this in mind. I didn't find this sunk it too well either and kind of sits on the lip like an oily film until it wears away pretty soon after applying. The scent/flavour is obviously olive oil but I get a slighty licoricey/aniseed note from my tube which is not unpleasant. I like the squeeze tube and the pale avocado green packaging it looks very naturalistic and chic. Sad this doesn't work for me but those who enjoy natural products will surely love this product I am sure.
I tried this a while back as I'm constantly trying new lip balms. I was ready for intense hydration and chap free lips, unfortunately this product didn't deliver on any count.
The tube is a nice little squeezy tube, easy to use and distributes a good amount of product as long as you don't squeeze it really hard.
My problem with the balm was the taste - it tasted like rancid oil and that is never pleasant. I may have got a batch that wasn't right but boy I've never tried anything like it. If you've ever dug out an old tube of lip balm and applied it, then you'll know what I'm talking about.
I also found the consistency to be quite thin and non absorbing. I actually feel like it made my lips feel and look worse.
Fortunately, I've been turned around by this brand with the inclusion of the Olive Pomegranate body lotion in the NZ brands beauty box. I just know to stay away from the lip balm in future - the body lotion is ace!
I picked this up at Farmer's on sale as I needed a new balm and loved the fact that this is natural and made in New Zealand.
The packaging is in a nice, squeeze type tube and is easy to apply. It does moisturize but for me it was a bit too greasy. I found I had to constantly reapply as it didn't absorb well. I sometimes have reactions to lip balms but I didn't get that at all with this one. It definitely has an olive oil smell that sticks around for a while.
I personally wouldn't purchase this again but would use if I ever got it as a gift. Would recommend as others may like it more than I did.
