Ok mask

Work well and made my skin super soft. Easy to use and a little goes a long way. That said I wouldn't have said any better than other masks and left my skin a little red. The redness dies down by morning. Don't love the smell.

Definitely pros and cons

After being off accutane for about a year, I began noticing a small amount of hormonal acne flaring up once a month. I began using this mask and I was really impressed, it seemed to shrink down my spots (cystic, that never came to a head) and remove any congestion.

I used it only once or twice a week each month when I was beginning to breakout. One time, my skin was much worse than usual and I wanted to clear it up quickly. I used the mask everyday for 4 days in a row. On the 4th day it started to burn so I immediately removed it. My face was irritated and red, so I probably wouldn’t reccomend doing that! (And patch test if you normally have sensitive skin).

The mask has an interesting scent to it too, but apart from the smell and the one time it burnt my face, it worked really well for my acne. 1 tube lasted almost a year so totally worth the price!

New Go-To

I have recently been trying out the origins face mask range. I was quite reluctant to try this one due to the price but I saw everyones glowing reviews and thought "why not?". After even trying this once, it calmed down my active face demons and I haven't looked back since. This is a thick white face mask with a strong smell (totally worth it). I now use this mask 1-2 times a week dependant on how my face is and keeps my acne at bay.

Tips: Do this at night incase the smell sticks around (shouldn't do), I just don't like going around with a deep heat smell. Also this can be worn as a overnight spot treatment, which really does work!

Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask

I bought this mask at Mecca for like $40 I think, which I was super reluctant to do because that's a whole lot of money for a face mask. But, me and my acne prone skin are now at the point where I will fork out any amount of money for something that might help my troublesome skin. First off, I love the packaging, a simple, bright squeezy tube which makes dispensing super easy, plus you get a heap of product for your money. It's a white mask with quite a thick consistency. It contains camphor, so it does smell a little bit like deep heat (weird? yes. unpleasant? not really). It's got that cooling but heating feeling on your face which I love, and dries really well. I leave this mask on for about 20 minutes (usually forget about the time), and it honestly makes my skin look brand new. My acne is a lot less angry, red, and swollen. The texture of my skin is so much smoother after using this mask and my skin as a whole looks just calmer and more fresh-faced. The best way I can describe it is that my face just feels so much less congested! I'd totally repurchase this mask, definitely worth the money!

Tips: To take off this mask, I soak a hot face cloth, hold it over my face for a few seconds and then gently wipe it off. It comes off without any excessive rubbing of the skin.

This is ideal for those prone to breakouts

I have a deluxe sample (5ml) tube which came in an Origins holiday set, this has given me 4 uses with about 1 full face worth left to go.

Packaging, even though I have a deluxe sample it is in fact an exact miniature version of the full size tube which is a plastic type tube with a screw on lid.

Formula of this is a thick, rich creamy type of mask that you smother onto your skin and rest for 10 minutes. There is no drying out like a normal mud mask. It has a slight fresh aroma too it that is sort of citrus or mint it’s hard to really pin point it. As it rests on your face it has a cool effect that tingles slightly.

Results from this were great, nothing amazing but then I have grown out of the acne stage of my life and only suffer from combination skin now with an oily t zone that has the odd pimple if I neglect it or it’s my hormonal time of the month. I used this twice on the week on my time of the month and found that none of the little under skin pimples erupted into anything more and seemed to just melt away. Normally I get a huge breakout of 1 or 2 of these spots around that time but nothing this time with the mask treatment so I am guessing that it sucked up all the excess oil and nasty on my skin and medicated the little under skin pimples.

It is easily obtainable from Mecca and hasn’t got the hefty price tag of some more “famous” branded masks that claim to do the same and for me this works just as good if not better.
