Yay bless you beauty review, I nabbed this from the May beauty vault and it was one of the products I ripped into and tried straight away. I love serums and find they help a lot with hydrating my dry skin.
The dark blue bottle is small (30ml) with a small pump top, There is a sticker placed on the bottle with directions and ingredients. On the sticker it also says to store in a dark place and to use within 6 months of opening. I have used just over 1/3 of the bottle in around 2 months. I do like how this is small because you only need a small amount the size of a pea.
This is very heavily scented, I'm not really 100% sure what the scent is perhaps the borage. It's quite florally I was expecting sweet and fruity since one of the ingredients is pomegranate but it's not the case. When you first dispense it, it smells quite citrusy then comes the florally scent. The serum itself is clear and takes a while to fully absorb into the skin
I was using this morning and night but found the scent to be too heavy during the day and it was competing against my perfume, so I have been using it just at night time and I also find the scent to be calming and relaxing perfect for night time when I want to unwind.
Since using this my skin is nice and fresh when I wake up in the morning and still hydrated. I don't think it has done a lot to improve the texture or lines but definitely helped with hydration.
Sooo, I bought this product from the BR Beauty Vault, as I've heard about serums but wasn't sure what they really are or what they do. I liked the sound of pomegranite and borage for skin health; pomegranite for antioxidant, anti aging, exfoliating, and moisturising properties, and cellular regeneration, and borage for it's anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties.
It comes in a very pretty 30 ml blue bottle with a spray cap. I use it by spraying it onto my fingers and rubbing into my face, or spraying directly on my face. It has quite a powerful stream.
The smell is unusual - a cross between grated carrots and photocopy fluid. Not particularly nice but not horrid either.
The ingredients are Squalane (Olive), Punica granatum (Pomegranate Oil), Borago officinalis (Borage Oil), D-Alpha, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Essential oil Cananga odorata (Ylang-ylang), Essential Oil Citrus aurantium (Neroli), so it is very rich.
I find the oil rolls on like silk and is slow to absorb so leaves a slight sheen on the skin. I like this as my skin is very dry so it ends up with a bit of a glow. I can't imagine it would be good for oily skin.
It certainly helps with moisturising. I have nearly finished the bottle and haven't yet noticed a great reduction in skin damage but my skin feels healthy and soft.
I would recommend this product to others to try and would repurchase it myself, as it is around $29.00 and this seems reasonable for a product containing so many good oils.
Tips: Use after cleansing and toning. The recomemndation is to do this and before moisturising, but it takes a while to absorb so I wouldn't be planning to put mosturiser or sunscreen on for a while until the serum is absorbed. Using it before bed is good, to allow it all night to absorb and work its magic..
