I adore this product, it is totally different to any other soap out. It has no artificial colours, harmful chemicals or perfumes. There is also no Animal fat in the product. The product is 80% made out of olive oil, which does help to retain skins moisture. Olive Oil is soothing for itchy sensitive skin, The soap is great for anyone that does have a skin condition (Eczema, psoriasis, Dry/Sensitive skin). I have Eczema and dry sensitive skin, so I wanted to make sure I had a good brand of soap that could help prevent my skin from breaking out. So far using the product for a year, I have had no signs of breakouts with Eczema.

Could it be true that something has taken Eco Store Lemongrass soap's place in my heart?
Sabun Olive Oil Soap really surpassed all expectations I had, it has quickly become my new favourite and dare I even say it...Holy Grail status.
First of all, this bar of soap is HUGE. It's much bigger than I was expecting, up to 200g which is double most bar sizes. And the price is right! $6.95 almost seems like a steal for the amount of product you get considering a lot of 100g bars are around $4 each. The size actually makes holding this soap a lot easier than you would think, though I would prefer for it to be rounded rather than square in shape.
The quality of this soap is incredible. It's very sturdy yet produces a soft, slick lather that makes you feel lovely and clean without drying and stripping the skin. I love that this soap doesn't foam! Most people think foaming = cleaning, but that's not the case and typically the foaming agents are what cause the skin to feel dry and tight afterwards. So the soft and creamy lather that this creates really does give your skin that extra boost of moisture while still providing a clean feel.
The scent of this is non-offensive, it's a subtle natural smell that's hard to describe - I was expecting it to have a heavy olive oil scent but it's rather subtle and just smells 'natural'. I've noticed than when using the soap I get small to medium chunks of what appears to be some sort of plant matter come off on my skin. It doesn't dissolve so I decided not to use this product in my hair as I was afraid of it not rinsing clean.
Over the last week since receiving this soap I have used it on my whole body and my hands. I suffer from dry skin on the body and I frequently experience eczema on my hands. This has not irritated my skin in the slightest, instead it soothes, softens and hydrates while still thoroughly cleansing. I have noticed a huge improvement in my dry areas, they are noticeably less scaly/flaky looking and my skin just feels softer overall.
One issue I have with this soap is that it's so big it doesn't fit in the soap slots/trays properly! Haha. I think when I get my next bar (because yes I will purchase this!) I will cut it in half and just use half at a time.
But yes, I do highly recommend this soap especially if you have sensitive skin or a skin issue such as eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
You may be a tad put off by the heading but it gets better so hold on to your seat and follow me on my journey from, 'What is THIS?' to 'I love you maaaaan!' I was a bit weirded out by the fact that it was an olive oil soap BUT considering I was desperate to try anything and BR granted me the honor I was all in with this trial.
Let's get the mundane out of the way first. It reminds me of a soap that you get at a health shop, all rustic looking and a smell that I am not sure I like even now. It is very big and chunky which is hard to hold in the shower with wet hands. It has some sort of logo or picture on top which adds to the health shop feel. At the end of the day all this fades from the mind when it comes to the performance criteria.
Like I said it is hard to hold in your hand because of how chunky it is so I prefer to cut a chunk off and save the rest for a later time. I don't use it on my skin as I have no dry skin ares on my body other than my face but I have a different regime for that. I use it on my scalp because I am very sensitive to chemicals in shampoos and conditioners. It makes my scalp flake (oh how that makes me ashamed to say on here) which means I need a natural remedy and it makes my already low self-esteem hit rock bottom.
I love how easily this lathers up. I would have thought it wouldn't lather up much at all given that it has olive oil in it and smells like olive oil. I expected an oily residue afterwards on my hands but there was nothing. It was literally just like a soap which I love. I was skeptical to use a soap on my scalp but forged ahead. I use it like a solid shampoo bar, apply, leave and rinse out. After only the first wash my scalp felt nourished and I noticed less irritation and flake YUUUSS!!! I continued on for another four washes and the heading comes in to light at this point. I was literally in tears because this is the first thing EVER to work and to leave me flake free!!!!!! I haven't been that way since I was ten years old so you can imagine the soaring confidence that followed afterwards.
If you have my problem or a skin issue this may just be the thing that will work for you as it did me. At $7 a bar that lasts for so long due to the size it's worth its weight in gold. I am beyond happy and as a celebration got an even shorter shave around my mohawk because I am no longer hiding!
Tips: Cut the soap in to a more manageable size
I bought this after reading reviews. I have really sensitive skin that's prone to eczema so I have to use gentle soaps and creams if I want to keep the red, itchy rash at bay. I read the reviews on this olive oil soap and decided it was worth a shot. At only four ingredients this the purest most, simple and natural soap I have come across. The ingredients are saponified olive oil, bay laurel oil, spring water and salt. So basically just natural oils in this bar. I was actually skeptical that this bar would foam but it did and it produced a reasonable lather considering it was mostly oils. The soap comes in a thick hard chunky, tan colored bar, it smells a bit funky and stale. I decided it was a bit to big to use comfortably at that size so I tried to cut the bar with a kitchen knife. I really should have used a serated knife because I only managed to cut into half the bar before it started falling into slivers, so I stopped and took the small chunk and slivers and put it in the bathroom sink. The inside of this bar is a bright, sort of olive green. When I washed my hands with it, my eczema rash on my hand didn't feel irritated at all. I really thought the small sliver would quickly disolve and get used up after a few washes like normal soap but after several days it's still a decent size. My eczema patch is healing and it seems this bar will last me a long time. While this does leave my hands lightly smelling of stale oil it's not a scent that stays after I apply hand cream. I may even use this soap on my body in the shower. I am impressed with this soap and I definitely will aim to keep this as my default handwash soap since my hands are especially prone to eczema.
Tips: The bar is pretty big for picking up so I do recommend cutting it in half if you have serrated knife. Don't use a normal kitchen knife because it is a hard soap and you have to saw it unless you want to work with slivers. The soap smells a bit funky and can lightly scent your skin even after it's washed off but it doesn't linger long and applying a moisturizer after you wash your hands or shower takes away the smell. If you have irritated, dry or sensitive skin this is definitely worth a try.
