I have been using sabun soap for over 10 years and it is truly amazing for sensitive skin and for eczema. It has cleared up my eczema and has made my skin much softer and less dry.

Could it be true that something has taken Eco Store Lemongrass soap's place in my heart?
Sabun Olive Oil Soap really surpassed all expectations I had, it has quickly become my new favourite and dare I even say it...Holy Grail status.
First of all, this bar of soap is HUGE. It's much bigger than I was expecting, up to 200g which is double most bar sizes. And the price is right! $6.95 almost seems like a steal for the amount of product you get considering a lot of 100g bars are around $4 each. The size actually makes holding this soap a lot easier than you would think, though I would prefer for it to be rounded rather than square in shape.
The quality of this soap is incredible. It's very sturdy yet produces a soft, slick lather that makes you feel lovely and clean without drying and stripping the skin. I love that this soap doesn't foam! Most people think foaming = cleaning, but that's not the case and typically the foaming agents are what cause the skin to feel dry and tight afterwards. So the soft and creamy lather that this creates really does give your skin that extra boost of moisture while still providing a clean feel.
The scent of this is non-offensive, it's a subtle natural smell that's hard to describe - I was expecting it to have a heavy olive oil scent but it's rather subtle and just smells 'natural'. I've noticed than when using the soap I get small to medium chunks of what appears to be some sort of plant matter come off on my skin. It doesn't dissolve so I decided not to use this product in my hair as I was afraid of it not rinsing clean.
Over the last week since receiving this soap I have used it on my whole body and my hands. I suffer from dry skin on the body and I frequently experience eczema on my hands. This has not irritated my skin in the slightest, instead it soothes, softens and hydrates while still thoroughly cleansing. I have noticed a huge improvement in my dry areas, they are noticeably less scaly/flaky looking and my skin just feels softer overall.
One issue I have with this soap is that it's so big it doesn't fit in the soap slots/trays properly! Haha. I think when I get my next bar (because yes I will purchase this!) I will cut it in half and just use half at a time.
But yes, I do highly recommend this soap especially if you have sensitive skin or a skin issue such as eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
You may be a tad put off by the heading but it gets better so hold on to your seat and follow me on my journey from, 'What is THIS?' to 'I love you maaaaan!' I was a bit weirded out by the fact that it was an olive oil soap BUT considering I was desperate to try anything and BR granted me the honor I was all in with this trial.
Let's get the mundane out of the way first. It reminds me of a soap that you get at a health shop, all rustic looking and a smell that I am not sure I like even now. It is very big and chunky which is hard to hold in the shower with wet hands. It has some sort of logo or picture on top which adds to the health shop feel. At the end of the day all this fades from the mind when it comes to the performance criteria.
Like I said it is hard to hold in your hand because of how chunky it is so I prefer to cut a chunk off and save the rest for a later time. I don't use it on my skin as I have no dry skin ares on my body other than my face but I have a different regime for that. I use it on my scalp because I am very sensitive to chemicals in shampoos and conditioners. It makes my scalp flake (oh how that makes me ashamed to say on here) which means I need a natural remedy and it makes my already low self-esteem hit rock bottom.
I love how easily this lathers up. I would have thought it wouldn't lather up much at all given that it has olive oil in it and smells like olive oil. I expected an oily residue afterwards on my hands but there was nothing. It was literally just like a soap which I love. I was skeptical to use a soap on my scalp but forged ahead. I use it like a solid shampoo bar, apply, leave and rinse out. After only the first wash my scalp felt nourished and I noticed less irritation and flake YUUUSS!!! I continued on for another four washes and the heading comes in to light at this point. I was literally in tears because this is the first thing EVER to work and to leave me flake free!!!!!! I haven't been that way since I was ten years old so you can imagine the soaring confidence that followed afterwards.
If you have my problem or a skin issue this may just be the thing that will work for you as it did me. At $7 a bar that lasts for so long due to the size it's worth its weight in gold. I am beyond happy and as a celebration got an even shorter shave around my mohawk because I am no longer hiding!
Tips: Cut the soap in to a more manageable size
I bought this after reading reviews. I have really sensitive skin that's prone to eczema so I have to use gentle soaps and creams if I want to keep the red, itchy rash at bay. I read the reviews on this olive oil soap and decided it was worth a shot. At only four ingredients this the purest most, simple and natural soap I have come across. The ingredients are saponified olive oil, bay laurel oil, spring water and salt. So basically just natural oils in this bar. I was actually skeptical that this bar would foam but it did and it produced a reasonable lather considering it was mostly oils. The soap comes in a thick hard chunky, tan colored bar, it smells a bit funky and stale. I decided it was a bit to big to use comfortably at that size so I tried to cut the bar with a kitchen knife. I really should have used a serated knife because I only managed to cut into half the bar before it started falling into slivers, so I stopped and took the small chunk and slivers and put it in the bathroom sink. The inside of this bar is a bright, sort of olive green. When I washed my hands with it, my eczema rash on my hand didn't feel irritated at all. I really thought the small sliver would quickly disolve and get used up after a few washes like normal soap but after several days it's still a decent size. My eczema patch is healing and it seems this bar will last me a long time. While this does leave my hands lightly smelling of stale oil it's not a scent that stays after I apply hand cream. I may even use this soap on my body in the shower. I am impressed with this soap and I definitely will aim to keep this as my default handwash soap since my hands are especially prone to eczema.
Tips: The bar is pretty big for picking up so I do recommend cutting it in half if you have serrated knife. Don't use a normal kitchen knife because it is a hard soap and you have to saw it unless you want to work with slivers. The soap smells a bit funky and can lightly scent your skin even after it's washed off but it doesn't linger long and applying a moisturizer after you wash your hands or shower takes away the smell. If you have irritated, dry or sensitive skin this is definitely worth a try.
I adore this product, it is totally different to any other soap out. It has no artificial colours, harmful chemicals or perfumes. There is also no Animal fat in the product. The product is 80% made out of olive oil, which does help to retain skins moisture. Olive Oil is soothing for itchy sensitive skin, The soap is great for anyone that does have a skin condition (Eczema, psoriasis, Dry/Sensitive skin). I have Eczema and dry sensitive skin, so I wanted to make sure I had a good brand of soap that could help prevent my skin from breaking out. So far using the product for a year, I have had no signs of breakouts with Eczema.
The first thing I noticed about this product when it arrived was the packaging. It looked lovely and up-market, and immediately spoke "quality". The second thing I noticed was the fragrance. It smelt nice, but not in a heavily fragranced, chemical-smelling kind of way -it smelt very natural, almost edible. The bar is very large, great value for money (although a little hard to hold onto with wet hands!). I would say it's about twice the size of a normal bar of family soap. I decided to take the plunge and use it on my face as well as my body, even though I would normally be extremely wary of using soap on my face. My skin is highly problematic. I have eczema, acne, dry skin, and super oily skin. But here's the thing... I have actually seen an improvement in my skin's condition since using this soap! It does say to use it for a month to see results, but after only a week, my skin feels and looks more balanced. The soap makes a great shaving-foam alternative, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and not overly dry. I was a little concerned at first that it didn't lather much, but I still feel (and smell) clean after using it, so I guess it's just missing all those chemicals that make it bubbly. I have a toddler, so shower time is a very limited thing for me. I found it great to have one convenient product that I could just use everywhere, not several bottles to juggle. Between that and the improvement in my skin condition, I would most definitely use this again, especially at this price point. My acne is a little clearer, my super dry patches are less noticeable, and I feel good about using such a natural product on my skin!
Tips: Keep the bar somewhere it can drain/dry between uses, or it will go mushy.
My husband used to call this watermelon soap as a kid, he had grown up using this soap as a child and so did his parents and grandparents, I am not sure how far back this family tradition went back but I was fortunate to try this for myself a little under 2 years ago when we went to visit his family in Dubai.
The first time using this soap I was interested in the colour, and the smell. The colour and smell are very unusual and unique to many soaps out there. I was so impressed with how moisturizing this soap was, I get dry arms and legs, there was no need to moisturize after washing. The smell stays on your skin for hours.
You can also use this to wash your hair, you just lather the soap into your hair and rinse. Your hair will be soft and smell like soapy olives.
There is one disappointment with this soap. My son has sensitive skin and when we have wash him with this he gets a really bad rash, I would highly recommend a patch test if you have sensitive skin.
Other than that this soap is really great, versatile and it lasts a long time! My mother in law always brings us more when she visits.
Tips: When youre finished with the soap make sure you place it somewhere that is dry and not wet. Any wetness makes the soap a gooey mess. And if you have sensitive skin do a patch test first.
With my 9year old suffering with excema and myself I was so excited to trial this. Emulsifying cream is great but your always on the lookout for something easier to use. The box is beautiful looking. The soap itself is unusual in colour muddy green. My sons first response is "with something that looks and smells this ugly it must work" he used it first and his skin was soft and moisturised looking. Really lovely. It didn't help much with his excema though. He is quite bad. My turn..., it bubbled up right away and as the soap was so big was hard to handle so out it down and rubbed my hand on it. It made my skin really sticky feeling. I didn't like the way my skin felt with it. I do think it is worth trying. My son and I had different outcomes. But not sure if I'll buy it again. The bar is so big it will take a while to get through it anyway haha
Tips: Maybe cut it in half for easier use. It's a really big bar of soap to handle
This soap comes in a cute box that has a rustic look to it. Upon opening the box I was little overwhelmed by the smell of the soap - it very much smells like olive oil. I was concerned it would leave my skin smelling like olive oil, but thankfully it only leaves a mild scent. The bar itself is HUGE and a greenish colour. I found the soap difficult to use due to its size, so I ended up cutting a piece off. The soap forms a beautiful rich lather, which I used all over my body including my face. I was surprised that my skin was left feeling moisturised and supple, as soap usually leaves me feeling dry and tight. I love the fact that this product is completely natural - no nasty chemicals is a big plus! My husband has fallen in love with this soap, so I expect we will be buying it again and at $6.95 why wouldn't we!
Tips: Cut the block into smaller pieces for ease of use :-)
I was lucky enough to get on a trial team for this soap and have been using it for the last 7 days sometimes twice a day. First impressions was woah this is huge and a bit ugly but its smells so nice, a real fresh unisex scent. I suffer from eczema and psoriasis so my skin reacts to pretty much everything. Not this soap though. It took a bit to lather up the first use and the size of the bar made it a bit awkward for my little hands. Eventually it did later up well and felt really nice on my skin, even the irritated patches. I noticed the more I have used it the better my skin is feeling, soft and buttery and my red flare ups have actually reduced a bit. According to the box I need to use for a month to start to see the real benefits and since the bar is so large I look forward to seeing how else this soap will benefit. All in all a flawless product and I will totally buy again
Tips: The bar is pretty big so next time I buy I will be cutting it in half before I use it.
