Thought I would try something new as my daily cleanser but unfortunately this product just didn’t agree with my skin. By midday all my makeup had slipped off my face and my face was like an oil slick.

Tips: Might be ok for dry, extra dry skin
Always keen to try skin products and I looked forward to taking off the day's face with Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash. So I lather up a small amount in my hands and spread it gently over my face. With a face cloth, I then begin to wash off this slightly gooey, sticky layer. Blimey, the stuff is like paint stripper! My face is certainly clean after a few wipes and splashes. Even the soft face cloth is whiter than white! My face is stunned with a stiff and sensible cleanliness that would score points for the scrub-it-till-it's-bare fanatics. Oh, my goodness, my face is screaming for the moisturiser, and what a relief that is! My skin is normal, and at my age, not dry at all. I have always looked after it, taken off the makeup, cleaned and moisturised daily. I certainly have never peeled off a layer as this face wash seemed to do. I tried it for several days, but no, not for me. Perhaps if your skin is oily and you want a good value, deep clean, then it might suit you. Give me back my creme cleanser or the micellar waters for a gentle effective cleansing routine.
Tips: Use a gentle cloth and never scrub your face, this product will do the work on its own. As an afterthought, I decided to use the product to clean some silver jewellery; it came up a treat! Now that's telling you something ...
While the Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash has lots of good qualities, overall I have found it too inconvenient to be likely to purchase it again.
The packaging is great, no problems there, and I like how Simple keeps such a strong focus on using natural ingredients and creating kind-to-skin products. It's the product itself that I don't really like. It came out from the tube in a very thick, almost balm-like consistency after sitting in my cold bathroom, and it was very difficult to work into a lather. For this reason I found it much more annoying to use than something like an automatic foaming pump cleanser, which is dispersed and ready to go instantly. In the shower this wasn't such a problem — I think the heat from the shower helped to lather the product up much quicker.
After cleansing my skin didn't feel overly dried out, which was good, but still nicely cleaned and refreshed. If this wasn't such a difficult to 'prepare' product (and from a parent company that tests on animals) I would possibly consider repurchasing.
When I received this product it had a bit of tape over the lid which made me wonder if it was meant to be there or if it was just put on for postage.
Nothing on the packaging really stood out to me so if it was on the shelf I don't think I would have picked it from the rest of the products.
Simple packaging but i don't find the key things stand out enough.
I squeezed out the clear gel and followed the instructions on the back of the bottle how ever it seemed to take a lot to get any kind of foam going when it does say foaming on the bottle.
Even though the product says soap free I felt like I was just washing my face with soap.
It did remove my makeup that I had on and my skin was clean however it felt dry and not moisturised so I felt I needed to apply another product to moisturise my skin
Was eager to trial this product as have found other 'Simple' branded products to be good, especially for their price point.
Packaging: Too busy. For a product branded 'Simple' there is just too much going on in the packaging. Higher end products are much more streamlined and minimal, so this could be better. However, it appears clean and the colours are refreshing.
Product states it is moisturising and foaming. I found that only a small amount was required to achieved the cleansing however I did not find the product to be foaming. This didn't bother me, it wasn't necessary as such to work effectively, but that is what the packaging stated it would do.
Moisturising - NO. Compared to other cleansers I have tried, of all sorts of price points, this was not moisturising. In fact it left my skin feeling tight and stretched. It must be noted however that I am in my mid 40s and need a more moisturising product than people in their 20s.
All that said, the product did what it is intended to - it cleansed my skin well. As a test, applying a toner following this cleanser resulted in NO makeup reside which my other cleansers, of varying price points while more moisturising, are prone to do. So the trade off is better cleanser but potentially strips skin of natural moisture.
I wouldn't use again for my skin type for younger oiler skin it would be a good buy for the price point.
Tips: Don't use a lot, it's just not required. While this product doesn't necessarily foam up, wet your face first before applying to ease the application process and you will achieve really clean make up free skin.
this face wash lathers up from a gel to a gel and foam mixer kind of texture which i dont really like it ,maybe because i have very oily skin so i dont see this face wash cleaned my face at all ,if you do have very dry skin and like a face wash which leaves a residue on the face you probablly will like this .
In the past I used to love using this facial wash, especially in winter and whenever I lived in cooler climate areas. It was my trusty products for many years.
Unfortunately in recent years the formulation seemed to have changed. I don't like the texture/the way it glides on my face and it doesn't seem to clean as well as before.
I would repurchase it only if I'm really stuck and can't find other facial wash on sale.
The Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash was a really great product to try. I am always looking for sensitive skin safe products at the supermarket, and even a bonus when they are under $15.
The packaging is pretty standard tube with flip cap. The squeeze hole is quite small which is great if you like saving product (it doesn't gush out), but not great if you want a palmful of face wash.
I was excited about a face wash that claims it moisturises as well. However, on this claim I was disappointed. I am still left with the tight feeling after washing. I don't find it any more moisturising than any other face wash.
The bottle also claims that it is foaming, but I did not find that it was very foaming at all. You have to really rub it between your hands to 'activate' any sort of foaming.
I have very sensitive skin but did not have any reactions to this product.
Tips: • If you want a more 'foamy' wash, then use quite a bit of product.
I really liked using this cleanser in the morning shower, sooooo gentle & yet my skin feels clean & refreshed without the tightness or dryness. I enjoyed using this cleanser & will continue to use in the mornings, bonus no scent makes nice to use & doesn't hurt or irritate sensitive eyes.
Started using this a few weeks ago, it doesn't feel like its cleaning my face its weird also I've found that with my oily skin my face feels oiler in my T zone and I've been getting really bad pimples which I don't usually get. I've also had dry patches around my cheeks that my foundation now sticks to. Definitely not the one for me.
