Simple Micellar Water Review

After using a more expensive brand of micellar water and loving it, I was curious to try this cheaper option.

Simple Micellar Water did not disappoint.

It removed all traces of my makeup and was gentle on my skin. There was no fragrance in the product and the packaging was not overly fussy. Easy flip lid that feels secure enough to throw in an overnight bag safely.

The only reason I had to take some points off its score was that I needed to apply the product a couple of times to remove my waterproof mascara - but no other product has ever successfully done this in one go either so the Simple brand hardly fails in comparison to them either.

At the price point this product would be hard to beat! As I say, even in comparison to a more expensive brand this options wins out. In fact, it's lack of fragrance (the more expensive brand was scented) is a bonus in my opinion. This product feels fresher and more pure.

While I try to be a good girl and follow a make up removal routine most nights, this Simple Micellar Water will be a staple as my back up make up removal option for those evenings I just can't be faffed with the whole routine :o)

This is great. It's so easy to use and completely cleaned my skin. I did use 2 cotton pads to cleanse my face but they aren't very big. My skin had some dry patchy areas which have gone now. That is using this for not quite a week. My skin is softer and looks smoother too. It is gentle on my skin and having sensitive skin, I have found this great. Have had no irritation, burning or itching. It also doesn't have an overpowering smell which I find great also. My face feels nice and clean and fresh after cleaning my makeup off. Doesn't dry out my skin either which a lot of makeup removers seem to do.

Had leaked when I received it, but as you don't usually get it in the post, this wouldn't usually be a problem. Would be nice to see a better seal on it though.

I was impressed by the packaging of this product. The clear plastic enabled you to see how much content was left and there were clear illustrations on the back for directions to use. The product itself has very little smell or any colours added which would be good for sensitive or mature skin like mine. I was pleased how easy it was to apply, just a small amount poured onto a cotton pad, with just a gentle wipe it removed all traces of my makeup, including mascara and daily grime and no rinsing off afterwards! It was gentle and soothing without stinging my eyes, left my face feeling smooth, not dry or tight, but clean and fresh. I used this product twice a day as I work outside in our orchard and my face can get very dirty. I don't always wear makeup during the day but I definately don't leave the house without it! After a few days use, it was quite noticeable that my skin looked more radiant which was a bonus and a nice surprise! I would definately recommend this Micellar water to anyone who wants to cut down on their daily regime and get a brilliant result.

I was happy to have been chosen to review Simple Micellar water. This comes in a clear 200ml bottle and easily fits in your handbag so perfect If you are travelling. It does not have any smell and is quite gentle on the skin. I have used this as a pre cleanser to remove my make before washing my face with my normal face wash.However I did find it to be a little irritating for my eyes, but than again I do have very sensitive eyes. This does not leave any greasy or oily residue after use which I really liked. It is good to remove light to medium coverage makeup and light eye makeup. I did find it didn't to a good job in removing my eye makeup. For a good cleanse and to remove heavier coverage I would recommend using this as a pre cleanser and than washing your face with your daily facial wash. Overall it is a good product and does what it says without leaving the skin dry.

I really enjoyed this micellar water. It made my face feel really great after using it and it didn't cause any break outs which tends to happen with my skin when I try things fo the first time. For removing make up I found it okay. It did take a bit of rubbing to remove more stubborn products but worked really well with foundation.

The first thing I hear you (and myself) ask, is “what is Micellar water”. Is it just water? Is it a cleanser? Is it a makeup remover? Is it soap? All useful questions that required a google search for a definitive answer. Micellar water is in fact a makeup remover and cleanser in the form of a water type liquid. The name comes from the French word Micelle’s which are tiny balls of oil. Micellar water contains these oils, vitamins and other good ingredients that allow you to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin all in one go. The Simple brand of Micellar water is the first I’ve tried. I’ve seen a lot about this and similar products over the last few years but hadn’t yet tried it. I was a little sceptical that something so light and fine (by this I mean the water consistency) could in fact remove a full face of makeup including the ever stubborn mascara. The consistency feels like water but when you rub it between your fingers you can pick up hints of oils which gives it a less drying feel than I expected. There is little to no scent. If anything it’s a very delicate “natural” smell, so nothing overpowering such as florals. After ascertaining all of this it was time to try. A little on a cotton pad and gently wipe over the face. I looked down at the cotton pad and couldn’t believe the amount of product that had come off my face. Not bad for an initial wipe over. Then came the eyes. A reasonable amount of the product on another cotton pad, place, hold, gently swipe downward! As I looked at the evidence, not only had eyeshadow been removed, but also the mascara! Yes, visible eyelash lines of mascara were staring up at me from the cotton pad. To say I was impressed is stating it mildly. I composed myself and carried on. A few cotton pads later and I felt I’d done all I could to remove my makeup. The Micellar water didn’t remove all my mascara but it did about 80% of the work. Now, I have dry skin which can often be sensitive so trying a new product like this does tend to make me a little nervous. No one wants to go to work the next day red and splotchy. However, that did not happen with this product. I found no reaction at all and very friendly on my sensitive skin. I did find my face to be just a smidge dry afterwards, but not enough to worry me. Whether I use a balm, makeup wipe or now micellar water, I always like to cleanse after removing my makeup. So, I continued with my usual routine following this and found little to no makeup residue left. After a week of trying it, I’m a fan! It’s simple, effective, subtle enough for every day use and gentle on the skin. If you’re using it everyday the product will go quickly but it’s affordable from the supermarket so that’s not an issue for me. An excellent makeup remover and I would repurchase. I usually use makeup remover wipes at the end of the day, so a Micellar water product was a new concept to me and I loved it. It cleaned my skin effortlessly, leaving it feeling fresh while also feeling hydrated. There were no dry patches and none of that uncomfortable feeling of tightening that I half expected from a water-based product as it dried. The only drawback for me was having to buy cotton pads to apply this product, but that does also have the added benefit of having control over the amount used. I really liked this and would definitely use it again. As I'm very lazy at times with my beauty routine, if this product was available as wipes, I would definitely be buying them in the future.

Was so excited when I first heard about Micellar cleansing waters, and couldn't wait to try as many as I could, so was very awesome to try the Simple range.. I have used a few, most of the new ones that come out, as I really like using the micellar water after I washed and washed my face then apply the water, and the simple one is very nice.. it does exactly what you would want in a micellar water to do, its very fresh and doesn't leave any residue on your face.. I defiantly would use this one again, and recommend it.

Its definitely gentle, which is great as i have very reactive skin. Ive always reacted to facial wipes so trying this i was looking forward to see how it went. I found i needed alot of wipes, i see some have said 2 wipes and makeup was off but i wear VERY light makeup and found i still needed to wash my face with a warm cloth afterwards. It struggled to remove my mascara which i lightly use. but over all would be a good product for travelling or need a quick face clean but as for removing anything heavier i would prob still use my cleansers afterwards. but its not drying and a good option for me on the run.
