After trying (and not liking) a much more expensive micellar water, I was prepared to be unimpressed by this product too. The packaging is a simple clear bottle - the formula looks like water and you just pour a bit onto a cotton pad to use it. I liked that this product didn't have a noticeable scent, and felt quite natural. I found that this could easily remove my daily make up (including eyeliner) with 2 cotton pads, which is about what I'd use with a makeup remover anyway. I did accidentally get some in my eyes once and it didn't sting or irritate them like some other cleansers would. I also didn't notice any stickiness or residue like I did with the other micellar water I tried. Like some other reviews have pointed out, while this is a great product for those with sensitive skin, or those who don't wear a tonne of makeup, I do feel like cleansers do a more thorough job. I think this product is a great stand in for a make up remover, and when needed you could use a cleanser afterwards to finish the job. It certainly is very gentle and doesn't break the bank, so I'll be recommending it to some friends I know with sensitive skin, and I might repurchase it myself too.

This is the second micellar water I have tried, the other being Garnier. I have used Simple products before and liked them, so thought I would try this one. It has no smell and very light to apply, just use a small amount on a cotton pad and it removes every trace of make-up. My skin can be sensitive at times, so I found this to be very gentle on my skin. I like that it has multi vitamins and natural ingredients. Very cost-effective as it is often on special at the supermarket.
Tips: Use sparingly on a cotton pad, do not get into eyes just in case.
I really like this product and it's totally converted me to cleansing waters! They don't give you the same tight feel as soapy cleansers and remove makeup and cleanse your skin gently! Love! I also love that it's really mess free! It's basically like using wipes apart from wipes dry out and this doesn't. Haha.
I love the "no nonsense" branding of Simple and the product is essentially scentless, which is cool! You don't want something too overbearing going all over your face!
The only issue that I had with this cleansing water that I didn't experience with others is that my skin did feel a little sticky afterwards. It didn't last long but that's the only negative feedback I would have for this product.
It does a great job and I haven't had any breakouts since using it! Definitely a plus!! As it's so cheap I'm sure I'll be buying it again in future and staying away from the nasty soapy cleansers!
This was my go to make up remover for quite some time! I would use two cotton rounds and that would generally remove all of the makeup from my face without leaving my skin feeling dry and rough.
It is gentle on the skin and doesn't really have a scent. I have VERY sensitive skin which is easily upset by a lot of makeup removers but not this one.
I have since switched to the Garnier one as it has the same effect but you get a lot more for the same price.
I tried this as an alternative to the Garnier cleansing water as I love to try new products. It does the trick, leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed and removes my medium coverage everyday makeup well. I like that it has only necessary ingredients and is paraben free. Other than that it is very similar to the Garnier cleansing water which I prefer only because I feel it is better value for money.
I have always thought that micellar waters were a waste of time. And whats the point. So I had a kind of 'what a load of rubbish' attitude when I tried this. Ok so I take it back.. sorry. It actually cleaned my face and took makeup off. Smelled nice but not all chemically and didnt leave my face all greasey! My 11 year old quickly started stealing it while i wasnt looking and she loves it too.
Tips: I found using soft cotton wool helps you use less and is nice on your face.
The first thing I hear you (and myself) ask, is “what is Micellar water”. Is it just water? Is it a cleanser? Is it a makeup remover? Is it soap? All useful questions that required a google search for a definitive answer. Micellar water is in fact a makeup remover and cleanser in the form of a water type liquid. The name comes from the French word Micelle’s which are tiny balls of oil. Micellar water contains these oils, vitamins and other good ingredients that allow you to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin all in one go. The Simple brand of Micellar water is the first I’ve tried. I’ve seen a lot about this and similar products over the last few years but hadn’t yet tried it. I was a little sceptical that something so light and fine (by this I mean the water consistency) could in fact remove a full face of makeup including the ever stubborn mascara. The consistency feels like water but when you rub it between your fingers you can pick up hints of oils which gives it a less drying feel than I expected. There is little to no scent. If anything it’s a very delicate “natural” smell, so nothing overpowering such as florals. After ascertaining all of this it was time to try. A little on a cotton pad and gently wipe over the face. I looked down at the cotton pad and couldn’t believe the amount of product that had come off my face. Not bad for an initial wipe over. Then came the eyes. A reasonable amount of the product on another cotton pad, place, hold, gently swipe downward! As I looked at the evidence, not only had eyeshadow been removed, but also the mascara! Yes, visible eyelash lines of mascara were staring up at me from the cotton pad. To say I was impressed is stating it mildly. I composed myself and carried on. A few cotton pads later and I felt I’d done all I could to remove my makeup. The Micellar water didn’t remove all my mascara but it did about 80% of the work. Now, I have dry skin which can often be sensitive so trying a new product like this does tend to make me a little nervous. No one wants to go to work the next day red and splotchy. However, that did not happen with this product. I found no reaction at all and very friendly on my sensitive skin. I did find my face to be just a smidge dry afterwards, but not enough to worry me. Whether I use a balm, makeup wipe or now micellar water, I always like to cleanse after removing my makeup. So, I continued with my usual routine following this and found little to no makeup residue left. After a week of trying it, I’m a fan! It’s simple, effective, subtle enough for every day use and gentle on the skin. If you’re using it everyday the product will go quickly but it’s affordable from the supermarket so that’s not an issue for me. An excellent makeup remover and I would repurchase. Thank you Beauty Review. Lisa x
Was so excited when I first heard about Micellar cleansing waters, and couldn't wait to try as many as I could, so was very awesome to try the Simple range.. I have used a few, most of the new ones that come out, as I really like using the micellar water after I washed and washed my face then apply the water, and the simple one is very nice.. it does exactly what you would want in a micellar water to do, its very fresh and doesn't leave any residue on your face.. I defiantly would use this one again, and recommend it.
I have always been keen to use this since they came out on the market so this trial was the perfect time to try it :) It was easy to use and removed all my make up and felt so gentle on my skin :) I can see why it's the U.K's No1 as it did everything on the bottle :) and a great price too! I would definately recommend to others :)
Brought this as there is a new trend going on with skin cleansing. I am happy with this so far; it is cheaper than some of the micellar waters out there at the minute and does the same job, in my opinion. I do, however find, that sometimes if irritates my eyes when removing mascara. Other than that it is a good product and will continue to try these new waters out.
