Skinfood Facial Cleansing Wipes Review

Disclaimer - i'm not a wipes person. I used to be, but now they aren't the best solution for my skin.

So saying, I won these, and love the brand, so I gave them a go.

Skinfood Facial Cleansing wipes come in the typical white and green packaging, which looks clean and fresh. The ingredients are clearly listed, if you're into reading those, and the key things they want to advertise appear to be the inclusion of aloe vera and chamomile, and the exclusion of parabens.

They have a little more of a ....soapy scent than I'm used to from Skinfood. Usually there's a fresh lime scent to the products I adore; that's missing here.

These are very 'wet' wipes. The cleansing agent is generously applied to the wipes, which are reasonably soft.

They do an okay job of removing most makeup, but certainly don't render my face totally clean. I'm left with a slight tingling while the products on my skin, and later on, once it's dried or dabbed off, skin feels really smooth. I usually break out after using wipes though, and these are no exception, so I'm more using them for touchups, to help get eyemakeup off, and to help clear my hairline at dye time.

Worth a shot, but haven't turned me back on to wipes.

I love a lot of Skinfood products & when I opened this pack of Facial cleansing wipes, I was greeted with the fresh clean odour I like. The wipes are VERY wet, 'great' I thought 'They should be able to remove my eye makeup'

But OW!! stingy! that is not nice. makeup removal was ok, but I wont be using them for my eyes. In fact I'm too scared to put them on my face, after all what's the point in cleansing only part of your face?

I am using up the pack as brush revivers however, in between full cleaning.

Firstly, I don't actively purchase wipes, but this came in their monthly bundle so I happily reach for it during my cleansing routine.

I use wipes as a pre-cleanse, to remove makeup before using a proper cleanser.

The Skinfood wipes are gentle enough for my sensitive skin, but not super effective at removing all makeup. However, for my needs, this is fine.

I wouldn't repurchase based on the fact that I find wipes wasteful being a single-use product.

A nice idea, convenient wipe, but a little dry.

Due to the lack of moisture, you have to really pull and push in the skin, so not great around the eye area. I felt that with added moisture this could have been a good cleansing wipe, but as it is, it did a basic clean but not a great clean.

I wouldn't buy them again, I will look for something better.

oK So this is the secound product of skinfood i have purchased,

firstly it takes off my makeup quite well and I only have to use one wipe ! That is a first, I haven't found wipes where I could only use one I would have to use a few to remove all of my makeup,

but this range does skin the hell out of my skin and eyes ! it doesn't leave any rashes or anything just when im removing my makeup, so I guess this is not for me ,

These wipes are soft on the skin and are very easy to use. They also smell really good, but are not overpowering in scent either. I didn't mind using them as they did an 'ok' job at removing my make up. They easily removed the majority but not the waterproof mascara. I also found the wipes were also REALLY wet. I'm not sure if it was the packet I had, or if it is normal, but the wipes were actually dripping once they came out of the packet! I have tried a number of different brands of 'wipes' and overall am indifferent to this one, there are better out there for the price :)

I was in the supermarket, had a quick look on my phone for a review and saw these wipes. I mainly use wipes after my night shifts . I feel so tired and my quick go to is wipes.

Packaging looks bright and inviting. I had trouble with the seal not completely adhering to the packet . Texture of the wipe itself is soft. Quite thin . Not as thick as I’d hoped it to be . The scent of these wipes is like very mild vanilla.

It seems to take my make up off but not my liquid liner . It struggled and I have to do a double cleanse with my oil cleanser .

I had hyped myself up for these wipes. I payed over ten dollars and I honestly don’t think they were worth that price for only 25 wipes. I wouldn’t recommend it for full face make up like what I wear. I won’t repurchase these .

Really dry towelettes, which make for ineffective makeup removal. Smells good and is gentle on the skin but what the point? Most likely won't buy this again as there are many more effective options available.

Oh my god.

I bought these thinking they were going to have a lovely, mild, natural scent judging by the list of ingredients on the front of the packet.

I got home, opened the packet and was smacked in the face with the stench of pure toilet cleaner. I couldn't believe it.

If you are sensitive to scents and fragrance, steer way clear of these! I have no idea what is in them that causes this smell.

It literally smells like a mix of Lynx (cue PTSD flashbacks to high school socials) and actual toilet cleaner.

I cannot use these on my face!

The only positive thing I can say is that the wipe itself seems to be made out of a sturdy material. I hate when other wipes warp and disintegrate while you're using them.

Edit to add: after reading all the previous reviews raving about the mild, fresh scent, I thought I was losing my mind! I asked my flatmate to smell the wipes and tell me what she thought it smelled like, and she immediately said toilet cleaner. So I feel better knowing I'm probably not losing my mind! I do see that the other reviews are a couple of years older though, so perhaps they've recently reformulated?
