So I'm not always the biggest fan of facial skin products from the supermarket. Mostly due to the chemical s& perfumes in them - yes, even the 'natural' ones! My sister got a St Ives travel set in a gift basket & had a wee tube of the St.Ives Oatmeal Face Scrub & Mask. She used it for a few weeks & had awesome results. She let me know how it went as she knew I make my own almond oil & oatmeal face masks as my skin is so sensitive to so many products. She convinced me to give it a whirl, at $10 roughly I wasn't going to lose sleep over it if it wasn't successful & would just flick it my sisters way if needed. So I get 'the flake' - BAD. Particularly in winter months, prescribed steroid/locoid lotions & ointments don't even generally help. Making my own face masks isn't exactly a cheap task as almond oil is quite pricey. So I needed a product I could use once or twice a week as a light scrub as well as a nourishing treatment for my skin. I found one! I wash my hair roughly twice a week & that's a long process, so I use my St. Ives scrub & mask the same days. Once I put my shampoo in, I lather up my face generously with the mask, I continue with my normal routine in the shower & can slowly feel it drying out & tightening on my face. Under the warm water (I turn temp down when rinsing my face) I moisten the mask again & massage around lightly, really getting some good exfoliating happening. I rinse thoroughly - make sure you scrub the eyebrows & rinse well there & in your nose! It tends to hide in these places. After using the oatmeal face scrub & mask my flake is gone completely for another few days. I smother my skin in moisturizer after drying my face as it is quite dry, but soft & smooth which feels lovely. I use a concoction of Rosehip oil as well as prescribed sorbolene cream (you can buy over the counter at pharmacies as well) to moisturize with. Incredibly versatile, effective, affordable & easily accessible in most supermarkets - I get mine from Countdown & it's quite often on special for $6.99-7.99 It has a really nice, natural scent to it too, not too overbearing. Great product to have handy & incorporate into your weekly skin regime xx

Tips: About 10 minutes seems to be a good time for me to have the mask on my face, it doesn't get too super dry & leaves my skin firm & fresh.
I have really sensitive dry skin, and I use this once a week. I usually avoid most scrubs as the beads can be quite harsh, leaving it sore, red and stinging, but this one is so gentle and non-irritating on the skin and helps to remove the dry flakes from my skin. It leaves my skin feeling really soft, I really like it! I recommend this to anyone with very sensitive skin.
Tips: It can also be used as a leave on mask for a 5-10mins before rinsing it off!
Didn't find this very gentle on my skin and it left my skin feeling a bit stingy and red. It did feel clean and hydrated but I was quite unhappy about the increased redness
I love St. Ives' products as an affordable skin care range that I can easily pick-up at most grocery stores, and this Oatmeal Face Scrub and Mask does not disappoint. The ingredients are decent and do not irritate my skin and a little bit of the scrub goes a long way. It doesn't have an overpowering scent and my partner enjoys using it, too!
Okay so I use the st Ives entire range when it comes for the face scrubs etc. the oat meal one is extremely nice it has more of a creamy ness to it leaving your skin soft. This does not however compromise on the cleaning of the skin it is one of my favs in the range giving such a good clean but this one seams to leave my skin much softer afterwards I think it’s the oat meal
This product can be used as a mask or scrub. I've used it as both and was happy with the outcome. After using it as a scrub, I find my skin appears calmer and not so patchy, and after the mask it is clear, calm and soft.
I like that it is a double and I can choose whether to use it quickly or take my time and use it as a mask. The little scrubby bits are quite small so it doesn't feel like sandpaper. The cleanser is nice and creamy too.
Tips: Try to keep it away from your hairline. I find the little scrubby bits get stuck in my hair and they can be a nuisance to get out
i find this mask is very great ,i applied it as a mask and rub a little bit when i washed it off ,every time after use i found that my skin got brighten and softer ,pores are smaller and acnes were calmed down ,its a good mask for sensitive oily skin .
I used this mostly as a scrub rather than a mask. Found this product to do just what it said it would. It was light and made my skin feel great after.
I bought this ages ago but only recently started using it. I've always thought of St Ives as having a good name so I was happy to try it. It comes in a big tube with a screw top. The product is thick and is easy to access with no mess.
Once on the skin, the scrub smells lovely with a strong scent of honey. It is thick but without sharp edges and isn't abrasive on my skin.
I've been using it for removing make up and waking my skin which is unusually dull at the moment. I like the result. My skin feels clean and awake, with no residue. It works particularly well under the shower.
I can't recall what it cost but somewhere around $6 rings a bell. I only use a small amount each time and it will last for ages, so its economical. A good buy.
I had been suffering lately from my combination skin keeping parts of my face oily for too long and having minor breakouts and then the edges of my cheeks and chin being so dry that you look too closely you will see camels tracking across the vastness.
This oatmeal scrub has done wonders, used as a scrub it laters up on your face as you make circles on your skin with damp fingers and allow the gritty particles to really purge clean. Once rinsed with warm water my skin does have a blotchy red hue but it quickly dies away to an even complexion. After a week of use my breakouts were gone and my dry areas were more easily controlled.
Used it as a quick mask one morning, by simply not washing off whilst I put on a load of washing and ran a bath, it easily washed away and didn't do anything extra that would warrant me leaving it on for long periods again.
