Tips: If using it as a mask in the shower apply first and then continue with shower and wash off just before you step out of the shower..
I really liked this product it is so gentle on your skin. I love the fact that you can leave on for extra 5-7 Minutes to become a mask. My skin was left feeling soft and hydrated. This product would be perfect for someone with sensitive skin and like myself I find it hard to find Products for that skin type I love the fact it is easy to apply and also smells amazing what more can you ask for I 100% recommend this product and will continue to use this.
I had been suffering lately from my combination skin keeping parts of my face oily for too long and having minor breakouts and then the edges of my cheeks and chin being so dry that you look too closely you will see camels tracking across the vastness.
This oatmeal scrub has done wonders, used as a scrub it laters up on your face as you make circles on your skin with damp fingers and allow the gritty particles to really purge clean. Once rinsed with warm water my skin does have a blotchy red hue but it quickly dies away to an even complexion. After a week of use my breakouts were gone and my dry areas were more easily controlled.
Used it as a quick mask one morning, by simply not washing off whilst I put on a load of washing and ran a bath, it easily washed away and didn't do anything extra that would warrant me leaving it on for long periods again.
So I'm not always the biggest fan of facial skin products from the supermarket. Mostly due to the chemical s& perfumes in them - yes, even the 'natural' ones! My sister got a St Ives travel set in a gift basket & had a wee tube of the St.Ives Oatmeal Face Scrub & Mask. She used it for a few weeks & had awesome results. She let me know how it went as she knew I make my own almond oil & oatmeal face masks as my skin is so sensitive to so many products. She convinced me to give it a whirl, at $10 roughly I wasn't going to lose sleep over it if it wasn't successful & would just flick it my sisters way if needed. So I get 'the flake' - BAD. Particularly in winter months, prescribed steroid/locoid lotions & ointments don't even generally help. Making my own face masks isn't exactly a cheap task as almond oil is quite pricey. So I needed a product I could use once or twice a week as a light scrub as well as a nourishing treatment for my skin. I found one! I wash my hair roughly twice a week & that's a long process, so I use my St. Ives scrub & mask the same days. Once I put my shampoo in, I lather up my face generously with the mask, I continue with my normal routine in the shower & can slowly feel it drying out & tightening on my face. Under the warm water (I turn temp down when rinsing my face) I moisten the mask again & massage around lightly, really getting some good exfoliating happening. I rinse thoroughly - make sure you scrub the eyebrows & rinse well there & in your nose! It tends to hide in these places. After using the oatmeal face scrub & mask my flake is gone completely for another few days. I smother my skin in moisturizer after drying my face as it is quite dry, but soft & smooth which feels lovely. I use a concoction of Rosehip oil as well as prescribed sorbolene cream (you can buy over the counter at pharmacies as well) to moisturize with. Incredibly versatile, effective, affordable & easily accessible in most supermarkets - I get mine from Countdown & it's quite often on special for $6.99-7.99 It has a really nice, natural scent to it too, not too overbearing. Great product to have handy & incorporate into your weekly skin regime xx
Tips: About 10 minutes seems to be a good time for me to have the mask on my face, it doesn't get too super dry & leaves my skin firm & fresh.
I love St. Ives' products as an affordable skin care range that I can easily pick-up at most grocery stores, and this Oatmeal Face Scrub and Mask does not disappoint. The ingredients are decent and do not irritate my skin and a little bit of the scrub goes a long way. It doesn't have an overpowering scent and my partner enjoys using it, too!
Okay so I use the st Ives entire range when it comes for the face scrubs etc. the oat meal one is extremely nice it has more of a creamy ness to it leaving your skin soft. This does not however compromise on the cleaning of the skin it is one of my favs in the range giving such a good clean but this one seams to leave my skin much softer afterwards I think it’s the oat meal
I have tried the apricot the green tea and now this one too. I like this one alot though said to be gentle it's moderate in my opinion and does a great job on the face. I particularly like the honey benifits but I do so hope the honey is sustainably sourced I do like bees alot! Product is thick and won't run every where. The honey helps to calm redness and the scent is not over powering. It feels good putting something natural on my skin. Great for a thorough clean and taking off make up without stripping too hard. This is the more creamy like one out of the 3 from this brand. I think it's worth the money. I know people argue that this brand makes scrubs too harsh but they seem to have improved over the years and stripping away the old skin cells on the top always makes your skin look brighter and youthful and the skin underneath is younger you must just ensure you hydrate and care for your skin following exfoliating and use sunscreen.
St Ives have been around forever! The apricot scrub was one I used regularly in my younger days. I've used this one many times now, I like that the exfolliant is walnut shell powder!
It can be used 2 ways, a mask and a scrub. I prefer to use it as a scrub. I like the consistency, thick and creamy with a nice fresh scent.
I find it is not harsh at all and gives just the right amount of scrubbiness! I make sure I wet my face first then squeeze out a small amount and massage all over. It washes off well and you are left with smooth, soft skin!
I have dry skin and I don't feel like this makes it any worse but of course I always follow up with a good moisturiser. I think this scrub is great and affordable and I recommend it for all skin types.
Exfoliates and thoroughly cleans my skin. However, I would not recommend this product to people with senstive skin or those who want a gentle face scrub. This product can be quite rough on your skin.
I loved this product! The scent is fabulous. The size of the tube is very generous and would last a long time as you don't need to use much. It exfoliate nicely and wasn't too chunky so I found it gentle on my skin. It left my skin feeling smooth and soft, not dryed out like some can. Very good value for money and I will definitely repurchase this in the future.
Tips: I found it helped my feet to feel soft and smooth.
