First off super easy to use just pump onto your mitt and glide away. The guide colouring isn't that great, I found it wasn't easy to see where you have applied vs where you haven't applied (other brands do this really well). The smell as soon as you press that pump is pretty strong, I don't know if I was a massive fan of that aspect. I do like how quick it is to process the tan (one hour to three hours) - I left mine for 2.5 hours. As outlined in the description post shower the tan does look light which was slightly dishearting but it did develop well over the remaining hours. I would recommend giving it a go if it was on sale or listed for a decent price however I think there are other brands which go on nicer, give a better guide and don't have such a rich scent.

As far as fake tans go, I really liked this one. The colour is the best part, it is super bronzey, not too orange and not too green. It really looks like I have been on an island holiday.
The guide colour was pretty light once it was blended in, which did make it a little hard to tell where I had been or if I had missed a patch. I checked the colour of my skin every hour for three hours, and then went to bed to sleep in it to give it a real chance at seeing how dark it would get. As always, the guide got very dark and it looked patchy, but when it washed off I was pleasantly surprised at how even it was. I had missed one patch on my inner arm, but i just got a little bit of the tan on the mit, blended it into the patch and a few hours later you would never know!
The scent was really light when it was first applied, but the next day it was a bit more like a lighter version of the standard fake tan smell.
It dried really fast, i was able to put a shirt on and watch tv after 5 to 10 minutes.
I also tested removing it with my fake tan remover, and it came off well too. I appreciate we all want fake tan to last, but I am not here for looking patchy and when my tan has done it's dash, i am removing it!
I would definitely use this again.
Tips: I use a fluffy make up brush and a little bit of fake tan to do my hands and it was an awesome trick! I just need to get between my fingers a bit more next time.
Such an awesome self tanner. It is so natural looking and actually streak free. I inspected the tan and could not find one streak! I used the st tropez mitt with this and I highly recommend this tan. Was super easy to apply, has a subtle scent which is actually quite nice. It goes on really nicely and the tint that it has makes it very easy to see where you have been, where else needs tan and also what needs to be blended better. I moisturised ankles, knees etc and usually these still look slightly patchy with other tans I’ve used but I can’t fault the st tropez tan it is so even and not at all patchy. My only complaint would be that I felt tacky/sticky for quite about an hour and then tacky behind the knees etc until I washed it off but there was no patches or streaks once it developed. Love that you can choose the depth of tan you want I went with 2 hours for medium and it was maybe slightly lighter than I would usually go so I will leave for another half hour next time but it is so natural and gives you a nice glow and just looks like a sun tan. Bonus I can use one tan throughout summer and then winter, normally I have to change tans as the shades don’t suit both seasons. I will definitely be repurchasing and recommending. It lasts really well and doesn’t come off patchy - also the packaging is gorgeous and feels and looks super expensive!
Tips: I would recommend using the st tropez double velvet mitt with it as they go together really well and blends the tan out great. Also stops getting tan stains on the hands!
I have a very fair complexion, and have had a love/hate relationship with fake tan throughout my teenage years and into my adult life. I have recently fallen back in love with tanning after getting a professional spray tan for my wedding - that healthy glow! I have been hesitant to try this at home, however, because the memories of the streaky orange legs and patchy hands and elbows of my youth are strong!
I was excited to give this a go again, though, and found this one really easy to apply - the mousse texture was really pleasant and easy to spread around for a good coverage. The idea of washing it off and it developing later was new for me with at-home fake tans, though this is in line with my recent tanning salon experience, so I left it on for an hour for a light tan before washing it off and going to bed. The smell wasn't the familiar pungent fake tan smell that I'm used to, so that was also a welcome change!
When I woke up the next morning I had a faint kiss of a pretty natural looking glow, and no orange on my sheets. Success! I was a little patchy on my hands and elbows, but I'll put this mostly down to user error and also having super dry skin on these areas, being at the end of summer.
I will definitely be trying this one out again, and perhaps even testing out leaving it on for a little longer to see what a slightly darker shade looks like. If you're like me and wanting to add a little glow to your skin but are haunted by the fake-tan disasters of the early 2000's, give this one a try!
Tips: I didn't regret only leaving the product on for an hour before washing off, to try out the "light" shade first. Start light and see how you feel - you can always leave it on longer next time!
Love this fake tan! it leaves you with a lovely sun kissed look and not waking up looking like an oompa loompa if left to develop overnight. It smells nice, and applies evenly with the mitt. You can wash off after 3-4 hours and still have a good colour

So glad to have been chosen for this review team! I am an avid user of self-tanners as I keep out of the sun as much as possible, but don’t like being too pasty. I have used quite a few different brands of self-tan, but never tried St Tropez but have heard some good things about it, so was excited to try. Firstly, I like the colouring of the bottle and the size which seemed quite generous and appears as though it should last a good while. I read the instructions on the back of the bottle (which was pretty tine, even with glasses on!), and ensure I prepped accordingly – exfoliate, moisturise dry areas etc. I had shaved the day prior as well. I used the St Tropez tanning mitt for application as I prefer to use a mitt, to help stop staining and they make application so much easier. I shook the bottle well and pumped two pumps onto the mitt – I applied in long strokes and worked into the main parts of my legs first, front and back, then used the residual to wipe over dry areas eg knees and tops of feet for me. It gave some instant colour, which is what I like, but then developed over the next few hours. I generally don’t do the 1-3 hour then shower thing, I just leave it on until I shower the next morning. I also applied to my arms at the same time – same way and trying to ensure cover around the armpits etc so not to leave white patches. I am actually very impressed with this tan, it applied easily, didn’t have too much of a stink to it (as some do) and really did develop into a nice coloured tan and it seems to be lasting well also – It’s been 2 days since I applied to my arms and the colour is still there and not patchy. My legs did go a little patchy, but I put that down to the extra dry parts of my knees and tops off feet etc. I do have some tan remover so will give that a go to remove some of the patchy bits. All in all I am impressed with the St Tropez tanner, I will continue to use it and will most likely purchase it again in the future! I like it better than the other fake tan I am currently using.

Apologies for the very punny title, but this St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Tanning Mousse is the best! We've all had 'those' experiences with fake tan and often ended up looking like a certain orange person, but this is not one of those products. From the beautiful packaging to the product itself, it is absolutely simple and reliable. The scent is very light and not at all overpowering like the first products were many moons ago - thank goodness! I made sure I exfoliated well - particularly those areas we know pick up tanning products like nothing else - elbows, knees - and I used the St. Tropez mitt that came with the product. This meant that I had a streak-free tan that developed beautifully over the three hours. The beauty of this product is that you can choose the depth of colour you would like from 1-3 hours on your skin and then rinse it off. The colour continues to deepen over the next 8 hours.
Tips: Make sure you exfoliate well, as advised on the bottle, and use the dedicated St. Tropez mitt - this will really pay off and you will have a golden, streak-free tan. Make sure you moisturise the areas that pick up tan more easily or you can risk an uneven glow. This is particularly important for knees, elbows, ankles and feet.

I love how express this tan is! You can shower after 1 hour if you want a light tan. Or leave it up to 3 hours for a darker tan. No need to leave it on for 8 hours before showering. The tan will continue to develop for 8 hours after you have showered, so straight after a shower it will be slightly lighter but continue to darken once the guide colour had been washed off.
It absorps into the skin quickly so is nice and fast drying. It is easy to apply and goes on streak-free, especially with the help of the velvet tanning mitt. No mess, fast and super simple. What could be better?!
