stila tinted moisturizer

I love all stila cosmetics but only buy them in sales as they are pricey. This is a nice tinted moisturizer. Its sheer coverage and creates a sheer dewy look. Don't expect full coverage you need foundation for that but you could use concealer with this if you need to. Its oil free but not matte at all. Its gives a glow to your skin so could still potentially look oily on some skin. My skin is dry so its great for me. I have this in shade light. I think stila shades are slightly darker than they appear on line so if stuck between 2 shades choose the lighter one

Also Stila changed the tube this was originally in as once you where running out of product it became hard to get the remainder out of the bottle. Because of this you can actually find the original packaged product on trademe for $10

Its water resistant so doesn't run if your sweating or or being lightly sprayed. I'd say coverage is less than a BB cream as they tend blur imperfections where as this doesn't. I actually dust with powder afterwards for a bit more cover.

I love the idea that this is waterproof - would you say that the coverage is less or the same as a BB cream? I want to try this but am unsure if it's worth it as I have a few BB Creams to get through.

A Mint Tint

I wish I had perfect skin. Skin without pimples. And wrinkles. And redness. etc etc If I did I would totally ADORE this tinted moisturiser. I've been using it (colour: Bare 01) on and off for a month or so now, depending on the state of my skin, and I can say that when my skin is in ok condition (as in five pimples or less) this tinted moisturiser is a winner! Firstly the tint is 'just' there - less so than CC cream, pretty close to BB. So it's definitely not for those wanting decent coverage. The formula is rather thick on application but once it's sunk in it doesn't feel gluggy on the skin - and yes it moisturises nicely. As for diminishing the looks of fine lines? I would say that it does, because my skin looks softer, less harsh, after applying it (even though you still see blemishes - bless concealer's cotton socks!). The only negative is that I'm not fond of the smell, (if talcum powder could go 'off' it's what I imagine it would smell like), it's a little overpowering and it takes me a good hour to stop noticing it. If you've good skin then this is for you!

Bare

I picked this up on special as I love having options for more no-makeup days. The shade bare is an absolutely perfect match for my fair skin (I wear the lightest or at the most second lightest shade in any foundation line). This blends into the skin really well and is hydrating enough for my combination/normal skin (maybe not hydrating enough on its own for dry skin). This is a tinted moisturizer so wont be covering all your flaws but this does do a decent job of evening my skin tone out across my forehead and cheeks whilst somehow making it seem like I have nothing on at all. If my skin is breakout free (an unfortunate rarity) then this can make it appear as if I just have really good skin. The best thing about this product is I still have the same coverage at the end of the day- I have never experienced this with a tinted moisturizer before. If you don't have too many skin concerns and love a natural look then this will fit the bill. Would repurchase (at the right price) and will continue to use.

Goldilocks finish

I love the finish on this - not dull and matte, but not shiny either. And the colour (I use the palest one they have) is a perfect match for my super pale skin - neither too yellow nor too pink. And I like the natural coverage of it. I don't look like I'm wearing makeup, but my skin looks more even and 'finished'. So in terms of the final look, it's Goldilocks perfect for me. The consistency is nice; a creamy lotion, I'd say, so it's liquid but has some body to it. The formula is gentle and fragrance-free, so doesn't irritate my (very) sensitive skin at all. For my dry skin, it's not super moisturising, however, and can feel a bit pasty sometimes when you apply it (like you're dragging it over your skin), so I put on a moisturising serum or lotion under it. The Stila blends in very well IF I let the serum / moisturiser layer dry off well first (otherwise the Stila pills), AND work very quickly. If I take too long or try to add more product once I've already blended, I get uneven patches that don't blend away. Overall, when applied properly, I find it a great product for a natural but polished look.

Tips: Blend it quickly! And wear a moisturiser under it if you have dry skin.
