The Sugar Baby Bronze Radiance Instant Glow is a nice product! The scent is amazing, and it doesn't have that 'fake tan' smell. It smells like coconut, which I just love.
The product looks very dark, but when you work it into your skin with a mitt, you can evenly spread the creme, and work this to however light or dark you like.
The shimmer is a bit much for my liking, as it doesn't look like a 'natural' tan.
My only other gripe with this product is that it does wear onto your clothes. So for this reason I personally prefer the fake tans that you can apply and then have a shower - then dress. This product is just a one-off that you put on and then let dry for a while before dressing.
So I need to start this by saying I have never self tanned before, so I have probably made a few faux pas in my application technique, but in saying that, I did really love this product. I started by shaving and exfoliating my legs so I could have a smooth surface to work with. The self tan is a thick, creamy, shimmering dark brown and smells faintly of almonds and coconut. On my first application I used too much and I went from being almost invisible to very, very dark, which was very shocking to me, it almost looked like I was trying to enter a body builder competition, but the product is very easy to spread around over your skin so I was able to buff it back to a nice light glow. Even though I was using my hands I found that it didn't appear streaky like I was expecting it to and it didn't take long to achieve a full even coverage, however, I did find that it went extra dark where I had dry patches around my toes, knees ankles etc. I found it very easy to wash off my palms and there was no staining to my skin and it set very quickly, I didn't have to stand around too long, maybe five minutes at the most. I did not wash the tan off prior to bed as I wanted to see if it would come off on my sheets. I woke in the morning with no stains on the sheets and a still subtle, shimmery glow. I chose not to scrub my legs at first to see how long it would last and even after a shower, my legs still had a faint tan to them for another day. As I wanted to attempt to tan without the dark patches, I read the sugarbaby website where a lot of people recommended using a tanning glove. So I purchased a sugarbaby tanning glove and I actually found my coverage a lot worse. It definitely applied at a lighter shade than my initial attempt and my knees and ankles didn't have as darker patches, but my legs and arms themselves were very patchy, it seemed that the glove was wiping it on and then wiping it back off again, I have yet to be able to figure out where I was going wrong with this application method, however, I was still very happy with the subtle glow I achieved, plus, it was very easy to wash off so it's not like I was stuck with it. As a self tanning novice, I definitely plan on using this product alot more, especially over summer. I have also been told to exfoliate, shave and moisturise about 24 hours prior to application for best results and to avoid the dark patches so am looking forward to giving this another go.
Tips: Shave, exfoliate and moisturise at least 24 hours prior to application for best results.
